    You are an absolute God-sent, I'm in my shop about to load up a 1/2 inch drill bit in the drill press and ram it through my temple, luckily I found your video first and figured out how to change the table bevel positioning because in the instruction manual they don't put that you have to remove that stupid ass safety pin to change it, thank you sooo f ing much 👊👍 I seriously appreciate it

    If you don't tighten up that belt, it will burn up. The loose belt is also probably why the first net bit had trouble. The adjustment is on the right side in front of the motor. Just loosen the wing nut, and push the motor back to tighten or pull it forward to loosen the belt. Super simple. Happy drilling.

    I was so confused about the bevel because of the very poor instructions as you noted. I had totally removed the plate but not figured out the smaller bolt was just a pin and could be pulled out. I watched a half-dozen other videos AND NOT ONE OF THEM EXPLAINED THE BEVEL!

      You’re my favorite! So glad to hear I could be of service. I struggled with the bevel and watched so many videos and everyone just skipped over it. So frustrating!!! I swear Ryobi needs to see my video. But if they fix it then I’ll be obsolete so maybe they should just keep it as it is. I just put out a Limbo build video where I use the bevel a lot. That project was my first with the press. 👍👍👍

    • @DudeSawdust
      @DudeSawdust  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. This is something I should have covered in the video but failed to. On the right side of the press there is a hand crank that you can loosen, then move the rear pulley and then tighten the hand crank. You can use a screw driver as leverage. Once you find it and play with it then you will understand what I mean. Thanks for watching my video. 👍

    Thank you for this video. Your wisdom is appreciated. My problem is that the large boltunder the table to adjust the bevel is frozen. I've tried everything. I also cannot remove the zero pin. Looks like I got a lemon (and I'm getting really, really tired of shoddy quality control in all tools now.) of course it's outside warranty, and of course I needed the bevel for a project I'm working on today. Sigh.

    I'd like to upgrade / increase the height of this Ryobi DP103L drill press. Given that I'll need a longer Pillar and Rack, what options do Ryobi drill press owners have in making this about a third higher?
    I'm curious if anyone here in the community has experimented using another pillar, rack, and possibly table bracket assembly combo from another brand? It seems like it would be possible IF the newer and longer pillar matched the same diameter as that of the original Ryobi pillar

    The only thing that is annoying me about this drill press is the location of the table height lock and adjustment handles. Being right at the level with the table, I can't add a drill press table to it because it will interfere with those adjustment handles. TBH I didn't even realize the table tilted. LOL I can't think of a situation where I would need it anyways, so it has never come up. I just wish the height adjustment handles were below the level of the table. Any thoughts of a way to modify those handles to make them more user friendly? :)

I wish I could post photos in comments, because I'd upload a photo. LOL I've not completed it yet. I've got bolts epoxied into the table and it's drying. Once that's cured and sanded, several coats of poly to protect the top and it'll be good to go. I just find the table on the press is just a little small sometimes. @@nathanchoi1934 thanks! We love our home, definitely a strong purchase. Yes, sounds like your drill press has been purchased before. Hopefully it didn’t make a difference and still works great.

    At 9:42 for turning "this bad boy" on, you left out one important step: First, PLUG IT IN!

      Touché my friend! The video title says “everything is covered”. Now I’ll have to change it to “everything is covered...except plugging it in”

    Do you find that it drills perfectly perpendicular? Mine does not, and I can't figure out how to adjust it.

    • @DudeSawdust
      @DudeSawdust  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would look at making sure the assembly head is on correctly first. Check the chuck. Check your bit. Make sure the table is level. If it’s still new I would return it. It might be a defective chuck. If it was made wrong in production then see if you can replace just that part. That’s a tough one. I know I’m not giving you specifics but these are general ideas on where to start looking. Good luck!

      Oh, and yes mine is calibrated correctly. Perfectly perpendicular.

      About two years ago I bought here in my country exactly the same totally new table drill from someone who brought it from the USA and assembled it here. I had a problem, it was not perpendicular. I paid attention to the instruction manual and noticed that the vertical tube was upside down. I took it apart, turned the tube over and reassembled it, it was very firm and perfectly perpendicular. I am writing this thinking that maybe that is the problem you have. I hope it is useful for you. Greetings from Ecuador.

      You can actually drill deeper by adjusting height if the table and then drilling a second or third time. It’s tough to explain here. Maybe this would have been great to share in the video. But in the end, you are right because a larger drill press would deliver more capabilities in an easier fashion. That’s
      Why we always upgrade later🤷‍♀️

      Yes I’ve had some complaints about the volume. I’m new at editing and my hearing isn’t great. Unfortunately once I upload and post the video I can’t alter it. But I’ve made some improvements with my latest videos. I’d encourage you to watch my most recent video about the kreg jig workstation, I think the sound levels are much better. I’d really like to hear what you think. As far as the music choices....I try different things hoping to capture the right mood. You win some and you lose some👍. Thanks for the feedback and I hope you come back for more!
