We are used to picking up car rentals with a full tank and filling up on return. What if their method is to give you the vehicle with a quarter tank, expecting you to gas it up? If they did that I bet they get a lot of gas back that they didnt pay for.

This was so stressful as you were running on empty in the middle of nowhere! :) was the tank full when you picked it up? Was it siphoned and did the rental company make you fill the tank when it was only a quarter full? It really was like the Amazing Race :)
My daughter has a Jeep wrangler she loves it. Plus it’s an unwritten rule but wrangler owners wave or give the peace sign to each other when passing by. Also you get ducked meaning either you can put ducks on other wranglers or they can do it to you. 🦆 😊

Why did they let them go without a full tank? They paid for a full , when you bring it back you refill it...

Did you download maps? Last time I visited and rented from Jay's, I couldn't get Google maps.
The Jeep Wrangler can do it easy. That same Jeep does 10 times more out in Moab Utah.

We never actually checked the tank when we first got the car. Lesson learned! 😆

When you rented the car did you have to put a deposit down and how much was it?
I don’t think I put one down, but I used a credit card so maybe I can wasn’t required to because of that
lol that ship next to yours is owned by the Church of Scientology. apparently you have to take a course on that cruise to get to the highest level.
You could have saved yourself a ton of stress and money by just hiring a local tour guide to take you to all those places you wanted to see.
