NZ VSフランスが2位にランクされているが、仮にフランスに日本が勝ったとしてもこのランキングに入るくらいラグビーはトップとの差が大きく日本は軽く見られている（いた）それが一気にW杯優勝国に勝ってしまったもんだから

I am glad to see Tonga's upset here mentioned. Some other sites do not. Shame that Tonga which had the same record as France was not the team to go to the elimination rounds because of all those other point factors. I think that in a head to head that should be the factor of who goes forward. Perhaps France did not have there metal on the pedal because they knew of those factors that day. More remarkable when you consider that France went to the final, and lost somewhat of a controversial final against New Zeland. Now if they could have won that final, what an upset that would have been.
