Yeah, as others have pointed out, this unfortunately doesn't really work. The opponents very rarely actually play around your hints, and that's almost certainly because they aren't reading them. Any players on mobile won't see chat and therefore don't notice. Ditto for anybody with their game set to ignore chat. Uhh there seem to be fundamental problems with this aside from communication…sure there’s ignoring but you can determine if you’re being ignored by sending a message and explaining exactly what the challenge is. The other problem is that people might not believe you and think you’re pulling a fast one even if you explain the challenge…then it becomes mind games that you don’t even realize you’re playing

Wolfey: is it possible to win a game of Pokémon while telling your opponent what moves you will be doing? Me who watched the short: im 5 parallel universe’s ahead of you
I was watching the Eeveelution videos, and I was wondering: How do you choose Pokémon for teams? Do you build around a single Pokémon you want to make work? Or do you more often happen upon a Pokémon that fits your plan perfectly?
Focus on an "idea" with a core (2 Mons that are basically always on team) the other mons switch depending on necessity. But there are levels of sophistication to it; naturally.
The video was really well made and edited and I really enjoyed it! I love the way that you made a whole story arc of your adventure! I'm rooting for more peeps to subscribe to your amazing content. I know there was some concerns about the chat, but I think that in all the games you showed the opponents knew your moves for the most part but still lost because of their own decision making. So I think it wasn't an issue. I'm excited for whatever you come up with next! Maybe you could even do some Wolfey vs Community content? Like playing with some peeps from your discord so that you can voice call with them. I know that might take a ton of extra prep, but I think it would be amazing nevertheless. Keep up the world chance difference!
Can you win by randomly selecting moves? Take whatever team you want, whatever moves you want but each turn, you have to use some kind of random number generator or a die roll to determine what move you'll use that turn. Idk about switches. Idk if they shouldn't have to check for a die roll too but I worry about some kind of abuse where you build a team to switch constantly to win. Somehow.
First of all I love your videos and this idea is amazing. Basically setting your opponents up to be like gen 1 NPCs who always know the players move before they do it. But I read a few of the comments here and sadly I kinda have to agree that the execution of this challenge is not the best. When playing against random people on showdown you will run into multiple problems hindering this concept. A few that I can think of are: 1. Are you lying? Many may not believe you really say what you do and think you want to trick them. Seeing you say the truth turn 1 is too late since 1 single turn (as you explained in another video) can already determine the whole battle. Also they may still think you could lie to them later on after baiting them with the first turn. 2. Reading chat. Showdown is also playable on mobile devices where chat by default is not visible. This alone breaks the whole point of your concept. 3. Language barrier. Showdown is not only playable in english but also in 11 other languages including german, french turkish and japanese. Your opponents might not unerstand what you're saying. 4. Time. Of course you have to take your time to think about and pick your move but so do your opponents. even if they look at chat, understand what you say and believe you, they will run low on time to think about their own move. There was at least one moment in this video where you had less than 15 seconds left to pick your move and the opponent most likely chose theirs already. A possible solution for this is to make a post on your discord server and/or social media and ask for people to be your opponent in version 2 of this challenge. You can also do it live on twitch. Then whenever you record it you can have a discord call with your opponent and speak out loud what you will do. The result is that you can check off all the flaws above except for maybe time to think but it will still be a huge improvement and you will get a much more accurate result for your challenge.
Finally those people who say nothing throughout the entire match and leave while I’m spilling stand up comedy about the battle will get what’s coming to them
Sort of fun concept but it doesnt work, a lot of people have chat off or play on mobile or simply ignore chat, most people also select their moves pretty fast.

If we play rock, paper, scissors for the first time as strangers and I say I’m throwing rock do you believe me and throw paper? Think I’m lying and throw scissors to potentially counter? Throw a “neutral” rock? Some skepticism before they trust lol
I like the challenge mode / pokemon showdown content! I also enjoy your video essay type videos but I get the feeling those take a while to find a concept you want to make a video on and to produce it. I'd love to see both types of videos going forward!
Now he needs to tell his strategy to his opponents at his next VGC event
1 ground Pokemon could destroy this team but he just has the world champ different
Uhh there seem to be fundamental problems with this aside from communication…sure there’s ignoring but you can determine if you’re being ignored by sending a message and explaining exactly what the challenge is. The other problem is that people might not believe you and think you’re pulling a fast one even if you explain the challenge…then it becomes mind games that you don’t even realize you’re playing
ok but cutting yourself off mid-sentence to do the ad read sent me LMAOOO
Would be hilarious to tell them honestly every turn until late in the game, when you bait them into a move only to do the opposite of what you said
I love how the ad is quite literally shoved in the middle of the original recording and once its finished you just hear Wolfey going on with the original video script as if the ad read had never happened
These new takes on ad reads never stop being entertaining
Awesome challenge Mr Wolfe. Love the way you tell your stories.
Fantastic vid, absolutely love the editing - you’ve been a role model to me for a hot minute now! Keep it up!
All these kids talking about temp6t man. I just came here to watch wolfey play a popular trend on showdown
Pretty sure all of your opponents had already made their moves before you commented. Their turn timer warning never came up in the chat box.
I don't know why, but this is easily the best TH-cam ad I've seen. Everything from the delivery to the context is simply amazing
Somehow.
"Kingler do you think he would lie on the 19th turn specifically?"😂😂😂😂. Temp watchers get this
First of all I love your videos and this idea is amazing. Basically setting your opponents up to be like gen 1 NPCs who always know the players move before they do it.
But I read a few of the comments here and sadly I kinda have to agree that the execution of this challenge is not the best.
When playing against random people on showdown you will run into multiple problems hindering this concept.
A few that I can think of are:
LOVED THIS!! Honestly Mr. Wolfe you make the absolute best vids, keep on keeping on :)

Congrats on the Honkai Sponsor!!
Wolfey wants another update for pokemon brush your teeth, Pokemon Smile.
Finally those people who say nothing throughout the entire match and leave while I’m spilling stand up comedy about the battle will get what’s coming to them
A classic Wolfie banger video
Sort of fun concept but it doesnt work, a lot of people have chat off or play on mobile or simply ignore chat, most people also select their moves pretty fast.
the lugia eldegoss thing made me laugh
Your content has been incredibly high quality recently, keep up the good work man! Nice job:)
wolfe on the reverse sigma male grindset, always letting your opponent know your next move
I love the mind games. This would mess with me for like 5 turns, then I'd believe whatever you said. This sets me up for the turn 6 betrayal.
shouldnt you credit temp6t smh
I feel like I would think he was lying half of the time on mind game myself to a loss. Lol
Video starts at 2:41. You're welcome. :)
Thanks
I think it's funny that most people seemed like they either ignored or didn't trust you telling them your moves.
This trend of creators taking ad contracts from shitty games and then doing the most obviously fake and sarcastic ad reads possible is genuinely brilliant and I'm so glad people are doing it 😂 take the money and fuck em up
but honkai impact is far from shitty man. But I still dont wanna play it 😂🤭
Honkai is a good game tho...
That sceptile froslass strat was crazy props to that player getting the world champ scared with a quirky setup lmao
Bro temp6t already did this
I am so happy to see you uploading again. You are an incredible content creator
one of your best vids
Yeah of course it's possible I watch the Tempt6 video you copied
The endgame edit at the end was beautiful. Good vid
tempt6 did it without the world champ dif
ad read is so much funnier when you remember what his last ad read sounded like. thank u for the good food (this video) wolfey
Taken from Temp6t
Always love to watch you play vgc, even though I like the other "hypothetical" thought type vids but these are my fav
