Been a resident of Florida for a year now. I live in Apopka. Even though in my opinion local politics are holding back their growth currently, they have the potential to be like a Mt Dora or Winter Garden in terms of charm. The Wyld Oaks project sounds awesome too! I get to Dr Phillips in about 25-30mins. Easy work commute too. I hear everyone complaining who has a shorter distance (in terms of miles) taking just as long as my commute or longer do to the surge of population in areas like Winter Park, Winter Garden, Clermont, etc. I agree with Ken that you'll get a quality home with the high-end builders but also a better deal on real estate if you'll get priced out in these areas that are "5-10mins closer". Apopka, Altamonte Springs, Mt Dora all these northern areas in Orlando should not be ignored! Check them out!
dont waste your time petitioning MLB for a team , florida has 2 teams that no one goes to see, the rays only had 20thousand people at there playoff games, a MLB record for least people at a Playoff game excluding the COVID season, the only way Orlando gets a team is if the Tampa deals falls through, what they should have done is put the new ballpark between Orando and Tampa The new franchises will go to Nashville and probably Montreal , the Nashville team is headed by Dave Stewart(former player) and they have the investors, I heard him talking about it yesterday
