Love it, I have started playing around with water soluble graphite (Derwent), I just bought an electric eraser to go back in to bring out highlights. I draw & paint birds, landscapes and the such, I get a lot of inspiration (and education) from TH-cam artists, there aren't a lot of videos showing this medium, I am grateful for you sharing your video. I'd love to see more, I'd also love to see how this might mix with watercolor, perhaps the water soluble graphite done as an underpainting with the watercolor added as a tint over it...
I'm glad you like my video and thank you for watching! I also love drawing birds and landscapes and nature in general is a huge inspiration for me! TH-cam is a great place to learn about art, but you are right, there does not seem to be a whole lot about this medium. I will have to post more videos using this medium and I like your idea of using water soluble graphite as an under painting! I love trying new things with my materials so I will have to try that out sometime!! Thanks again!
Oooooh, graphite next would be awesome! 😀😀😀 What a marker collection!! Have you ever found that some of these markers went bad before you could use them up? I have PITT pens and micron fine liners but I'm not using them as much as I'd like, so I'm a little worried they might go bad... by the way, I would LOVE a sketchbook tour of your marker artwork because I could use some marker inspiration 🤩✨
I think I will be doing graphite next! I have seen markers dry out if they aren't used, but I haven't come across that with Pitt Pens yet. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen, because I have that big set that I haven't had the chance to do yet! I will definitely be doing a sketchbook tour when I finish this sketchbook that I am working on!
@@CautionArtistatPlay Oops, I just saw that I put my comment under the wrong video xD -- this was meant for the marker collection video of course! I had multiple tabs open, including your water-soluble graphite videos, hahaha. Damn, I need to correct this and put the comments where they belong!
I've never tried water soluble graphite, but I want to more now. I'd like to see a video on the concept of thumbnails in art. I heard Draw With Jazza talk about it in one of his videos and now I'm hearing you talk about it, but it's a concept I'm not very familiar with. The angle you had the piece at as you were working on it throughout the video made it hard for me to fully appreciate the depth, but I could see when you showed it at the end that it's a stunning piece. I also find pulling tape of really satisfying.
Yeah, I am not fully thrilled with the angle either, but I really had no choice because I have no other place to put my camera without it being in my way. Thumbnails are a great way to work out your composition especially if you have no reference photo and are working from imagination. Jazza uses thumbnails a lot in his videos and he does a lot of imaginative work. Another great artist who makes good use of them is Baylee. My drawing professor swears by using thumbnails and I find them to be really helpful. I have been thinking about doing a video on the importance of doing thumbnails for a while now but wasn't sure if anybody would be interested. Maybe I will do one soon!
Thank you very much and welcome! I have been on a bit of break but have a few videos in the works and will be uploading again soon. Hopefully in a week or so. I appreciate your sub!
Thank you! I am actually using the Canson XL watercolor paper, it is very inexpensive and worked surprisingly well for this. I have a link for it in my description if you are interested in checking it out for yourself!

@@CautionArtistatPlay That would be great! The thumbnails video, that is. I also struggle with finding an ideal camera angle, so I totally understand.
Can you do more water soluable graphite pictures? Preferably nature and landscapes.
Thank you for asking, yes, I will definitely do more in the future! ❤
Really nice painting, subbed and waiting to see more from you 😃

Excellent art work. What is the paper you are using?

@@KaushikBiswasMagic You're welcome, I also really like the Strathmore 400 series mixed media paper, it's one of my favorites!
