TranzX Kitsuma Dropper Post Review | Upgrade to the Salsa Timberjack!

Reviewing the new TranzX Kitsuma dropper post on my Salsa Timberjack. I needed a 30.9mm seat post diameter and a 150mm dropper post because the 160mm I had was just a bit too long. Its a great value for the price ($159) for coil dropper post.

It can be stopped anywhere along it’s travel - the speed of the return can’t be adjusted but I didn’t find that to be an issue

The Tranz-X is advertised as adjustable in dropper length, much like the One-Up and the PNW. Did you check that capability? My PNW will lock up if I use a reasonable torque to hold it in place. Did you find this to be an issue? What torque did you use?

I didn’t mess with it … didn’t have any issue with torque on the clamp but you do have to be somewhat careful w most dropper

@@FoCoFlowShow I called them. It's not adjustable after all. They just mean you can stop it anywhere in its travel. My wife's Rock Shox can take 4NM and my son's One up can take almost 4 as well. My PNW locks up at 2.

Got a similar OEM tranzx dropper. Have you ever had to take it apart to clean it? I could not figure out how to remove the air cartridge as spinning it from the bottom there was a metal retaining clip with 2 small holes preventing it from spinning out.

No - for cheap droppers I rarely mess with having the service... i know not everyone can just replace them but that's usually what i do. Now if my Bike Yolk Revive ever fails, I'll definitely get that serviced... its a $400 dropper but I"ve had it for 2 years and its been FLAWLESS

What's the warranty? You also mentioned brand x, I thought tranzx and brandx are the same post with different name

2 year warranty - Brand X is a completely different brand - they make the Ascend dropper which I’ve had before too - another great option for a budget dropper

How does the weight compare to a similar low cost air dropper?

Slightly heavier but I’ve really never been too concerned about the weight of my dropper 🤷‍♂️
