when needy ripped off jennifer’s necklace jennifer “lost” her powers, she got really hurt cuz those matching necklaces meant a best friendship between them. after that she fell cuz she realized that friendship was over. it made me really sad 😞

Way more than a friendship 💀 the directors confirmed both characters are bi and are in love

It wasn't popular when it came out because the studio men insisted over the production women (the writer, the director, both the leads) that this movie should only be targeted at horny boys. They ONLY screened it to groups of boys and one comment they used as feedback was "more bewbz". Megan Fox kept telling the studio she has female fans. The director was furious when the studio wanted to get her make Megan Fox promote the film on a porno site. The writer kept trying to reason with the studio himbos and one email she got back about the marketing 'strategy' was "Megan fox hot." I remember seeing trailers for this and being intrigued 1) it was called Jennifer's Body already hinting that the movie understood Megan Fox is a person not a pose over a car engine 2) tiny bits of dialogue 3) it was written by the woman who wrote Juno. But it was sooo clearly packaged for boys, the energy it was vibing was all "Megan fox ogle ogle ogle 🥵 yeah do sexy poses for us." I felt uninvited. I was confused while it was in theaters because everything I heard about it sounded like I'd like it but the commercials basically ended with "FOR MEN!"
The audiences that respond most favorably to it are women and gay men. I loved it--I felt seen by its depiction of super close friendships becoming toxic as you grow up.
Smh. This is why they shouldn't let the men have jobs in studios. They're not built for it 😞

Every time. Every time someone reacts to this movie on youtube they skip the credits. You'd think people who watch so many movies would think of at least checking.
Also, the reason it wasn't considered good when it came out is because the marketing was TERRIBLE and the audience that saw the movie then was pretty much opposite the intended audience

This is from the Genius website explaining the lyrics!!! “killing boys” features a section of audio from the 2009 horror film Jennifer’s Body, specifically the film’s trailer.
The movie stars Megan Fox as Jennifer, a demon-possessed high schooler who murders several of her male classmates. In the quoted scene - which was not included in the final cut - Jennifer’s childhood friend Anita “Needy” Lesnicki (Amanda Seyfried) confronts her about her murderous activity.

It didn't catch on back then cause of bad marketing and bad timing. Kinda like the thing. The thing came out when friendly aliens like ET were popular.

A big part of what made this movie not succeed at first was actually the way it was advertised. Very much was advertised to teenaged boys, when this movie is 100% for the girls and the gays
