8:20 How about quick and easy plastic welding? I presume this is HDPE. Especially at spots where anchor points for whatever do not make a lot of sense. Hi, Casey! It's what a lot of people dream about. I'm in Britain, a ridiculously tiny little raft of an island about two miles square adrift in the North Sea. No spare space round here! I think the problem with going off grid would be defending yourself 'legally' from intruders. You'd have to spend so much time stopping people taking your stuff, breaking your wind/water power generators, rustling your chickens, shooting your dog, raiding your garden, breaking into your home, driving off in your pickup truck, running off with your wife, that you'd never have a moment spare to enjoy the isolation. I spent some time in East Africa (Kenya) in the early 1970s. My dad was with the Flying Doctor Service. He said you could fly 500 miles out into the wilderness, set your Cessna down in the middle of nowhere for an hour's rest and within 2 minutes you'd be surrounded by local guys trying to sell you shoes or knives or honey or fresh-caught fish or get batteries for their radios. There are also ways to ultrasonically or thermally weld the plastic that is used for those tanks. Friction welding can be done as well. A spinning rod of the same material can be used to seal holes.
I'm impressed, not only did you adapt and overcome, but you seem to have found a better way to carry the tanks. The boat trailer is easy to load, supports the sides well, and is nice and lightweight for easier towing. I'd call that a win.
You'd make a terrible farmer. That's not an insult - fixing stuff isn't for everyone. But if you ever have the opportunity to own a farm, it's probably best to give it a miss :-)
You don't have to be a machinist to fashion a part to fix something. You just have to be handy. If you always go out and buy new rather than fix, you run out of money real quick.
Its awfully presumptuous to think id always go out and buy new things rather than fix em when i mention id rather not fix a boat trailer once. Like i have common sense and i know im not skilled or equipped so i wouldnt consider trying it. I've been through much much worse than primitive, off grid survival for fun 😁 It would be the ultimate escape to be able to build and grow physically and mentally on a chunk of land I would own.
Hopefully I can achieve getting some land, I swear that's all I need lol
For what it's worth, I agree about not limiting yourself in terms of what you choose to do for the next video. Giving yourself the space to change your mind seems like a great idea. Your videos are so interesting, I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy what you publish.

There are also ways to ultrasonically or thermally weld the plastic that is used for those tanks. Friction welding can be done as well. A spinning rod of the same material can be used to seal holes.

Tank you for this episode. I can't get enough of this series!
For the life of me I can't imagine why there'd be a boat trailer out in the middle of Arizona?
Utah
You'll notice it's disused
@@magana559 Cool. thought is was Az.
Codys dad is awesome. I see where cody gets his smarts from
Imagine farting in that tank!
imagine the smell
That boat trailer was practically made for tanks! Awesome!
Damm you’re building this thing like Fort Knox
Fort chicken hole!
I'm impressed, not only did you adapt and overcome, but you seem to have found a better way to carry the tanks. The boat trailer is easy to load, supports the sides well, and is nice and lightweight for easier towing. I'd call that a win.
Never in my life would i look at an old trailer and think, "yeah lets fix it", id just be out to get another one lmao, good work lad keep it up
You'd make a terrible farmer. That's not an insult - fixing stuff isn't for everyone. But if you ever have the opportunity to own a farm, it's probably best to give it a miss :-)
I can fix stuff, im just not a machinist that could fashion metal parts...ive built a chicken coop for petes sake
I like making metal parts, but I'm not a machinist either. I just weld, grind, cut, etc... It's not too hard and a good skill to acquire
I know you said it wasnt an insult but im a little miffed that youd say i wouldnt make a good farmer because of something like that
Good video! And good idea on changing the clips at the end. Keep it up, Cody! We'll keep watching.
Really deep in my Heart i want to see a Explosion in the foreland of Chicken Hole Base.

You’ve got good English! Work on synonyms, and you’ll be darn near perfect! I understand your pain though. I’ve been learning Russian.
@@TheRealSupernoah47 oh thank you
It's so interesting to see the pics of the interstate; everytime I have driven through there something significant was happening in my life.
Love the sound of a diesel engine.
You need to find a big flat boulder at chicken hole and name it Cody's Slab.

Cody u magnificent bastard. U made a legit series. This deserves more exposure. Love u man
Those mountains in the background are so beautiful. Best wishes Cody, hope you're doing well.
nice that u actually fixed the chicken hole
I just realised why i enjoy this series on cody's lab far more than his others. As i am currently in the process of renovating my first house; his outro was like looking into a mirror!
Sheer exhaustion, chuffed there was some progress but starting to realise that every job generates 5 others and no idea what his next task was...
Keep up the good work Cody! And don't be afraid to put up a slideshow of narrated images occasionally so you can actually get something done without needing to continually set a camera up :p
This series is some of your best stuff insofar, you've got yourself a new patron.
I love the bits you put in at the end - they don't need to be previews, it's all good!
That flower at 4:04 is just chillin'.
I wasn't sure about this series at first, but I've got to say I'm really starting to enjoy it. This idea is very unique and intriguing!
Just needs wheels, studs, bearing greased, spring bracket fabricated and welded on. Perfect.... Today, you made Grant proud, stay awesome.
I love glimpses of future projects
Makes me real happy seeing you and your dad do things together
