Yo, wish I could drop 6 grand on a compressor. Worth it tho!

Luckily I didn’t have to pay that much because of the pre-order system Stam Audio had. I don’t even think Stam got that high up in price. For $6K, I’m gonna have to compare Stam vs Manley Vari-Mu 🤔

Did Joshua say he's not making them anymore??? If that's the case - WHY??

Unfortunately, yes. Speculating only, I don’t think he made money on these and may have actually lost profit in the end. They were labor intensive and created many delays for him and the team.
The units are probably worth quite a bit more but once you start entering that $5K+ range a lot more expectation are placed, chief amongst them, timeliness in delivery and I don’t think he has the man power to deliver that quickly on expensive units.

@@reddmusiclab So obviously yours is now worth something like $20,000+ Congratulations! YOu have an awesome compressor that might have just tripled in value :)

Haha! Thank you. Highly doubt it though. If you watch the tubes conversation in the video, I mentioned that type of price is usually reserved for the replicas that carry the 6386 tube. Stam tried but in the end just couldn’t pull it off. I may pull off selling it for almost $6K because mine is the mastering version but the only two listings in Reverb trying to sell for that price have not sold. Although, I’d have to be in a pretty desperate situation to let go of it.
So far, Stamchild and SA-23A are the very last in my list I’d let go in a bad situation. I’d rather push a shopping cart with those units inside the cart then sell.
