There's a windows EXP computer in my house. I rarely ever use it since it's not mine and I have my own windows 10 dell laptop. Most Google services aren't supported anymore though :(

Muta, being the deity of virtual machines, has access to all national operating systems.
I think the office suite that comes with this distro is an old version of WPS office, the developers behind this suite are based in China and their modern office applications look and feel notoriously close to the windows office suite.
ironically wps ( the company behind them) was releasing office suits before the creation of office 😂

yeah many people don't know WPS came out in 1988 for DOS-based operating systems. It was the only word processor back then that supported Chinese language.
@@yetson As far as I researched, the WPS of then was an original product, while the WPS of now is an effort to clone the look and feel of MS Office.
I love how Muta talks about "homegrown operating systems" in the end, meanwhile I'm Finnish and the Linux kernel was literally made here in the very beginning. God bless Linus Torvalds.

I've served in the military like any good christian greek,and i can tell you from first hand experience that those people don't upgrade,they adapt everything around the thing they know.

That WPS by Beijing Kingsoft is actually the descendent of the synonymous software on DOS, first published in 1988 by Hong Kong Kingsun, before MS Office. It’s current incarnation started with an Open Office fork in 2004 to gain MS Office file format compatibility, but they’ve definitely brought their own expertise into it. It’s pretty impressive.
I actually remember using WPS office on my first phone, of course it was a huawei but the app was alright

Windows 11 is heavily inspired by Mac OS so in a roundabout way it did its job.
Deepin is more Windooze like. And Windooze 11 took heavy inspirations from Deepin.
Elementary OS is the MacOS lookalike Distro.
Windows 11 just copied Mac

Man, finally someone starts talking truths about Linux! I use the big three OS's, (Windows, macOS, Linux) and love them all for different reasons. Why Linux? It'll make your old PC last longer (Win10 EOL is October 2025, TMP 2.0 will make offial Windows 11 support a pain 😕), faster, and safer! While I still use Windows primary for gaming and macOS for portable video editing, Linux is a solid universal toolkit where 99% of the software is free, as well as the before mentioned benefits. It also works great with Steam, if you enable Beta and get yourself setup with Proton Emulation. Most games work great now! 😁👍 Not to mention emulation, it'll have an old machine running some pretty crazy titles!
I just turned my PS4 into a Linux Gaming machine exclusively so I could play Half-Life 2 on it 😐 I'm a massive nerd, epic video dude 👍

Honestly.. you should make a video guide into your world muta. I think about changing to linux and using a VA to use win10 for games. But stuff on OS lvl is kinda scary to do if the most difficult thing you ever did was formating the pc and reinstalling windows.

Deepin is actually a pretty good OS with its own pretty polished DE, it's not really sketchy, doesn't censor shit or have some weird crap on it, the only thing that's somewhat off is its cooperation with chinese tech companies like xiaomi and they share some data with them, the fact that they operate legally in china in cooperation with companies reporting directly to the chinese government definitely doesn't make them completely trustworthy, still not a bad OS especially for Chinese users who want to switch to Linux considering lack of native support for Chinese input on most distros which imo is pretty ridiculous
It has the best looking DE i have ever used. I used DE itself on Manjaro in the past and it was a really enjoyable experience
Apparently the DE itself has some security vulnerabilities, though. :(
They might have been patched in newer versions, but I haven't checked since years
for this you would be best to use a download manager which auto reconnects on disconnect and allows you to add additional links to not only speed it up but also redundency.

Hospitals, governmemts, legislative bodies, older companies, where things just work and the budget cant be stretched to upgrade anything.. so its all up to prayers, or a bad enough breach/incident.

Honestly i would love to use linux, but the main problem like you said is not enough support from other mainstream companies. Plus everything people learn in school about how to use computers is on Windows.
Well, I'd say it's all about how much you hate Windows to at least try out live booting a Linux distribution and see how it feels without committing to changing your main OS. The switch will come naturally if you find you don't really need Windows for your daily use anymore, or that the things that require Windows is rather rare that you could just borrow a friend's computer to do it.
I swear that on my next PC build (coming soon), I will do a Linux build and VM Windows, Muta. Hope to make you proud!

It is so that when the office replace real windows os, the user will have minimum learning curve with the new OS.
Then from there you can mold it to your own different look in subsequent updates without disrupting users too much
imagine if usa and china were allies that would not only be the most powerful allie ever but the technoligy that would come out of that would be insane
U already see the results of them working together. The US funds a surprising amount of research in China and has collaborated with them both on a government level, commercial level and general international scientific community level. China is also doing similar things (mostly through investments and funding certain research), albeit it's sneakier. Than there's the whole stealing/ reverse engineering tech so the stuff coming from there is technically them working together XD. Right now they're trying to decouple from each other and they're both realizing that it'll take years.
I'd never want To be allied with China, bad enough we're allies with Saudi Arabia. The CCP is just the literal worst.
