I really struggled to install Android 13 using the side load method since it was not showing on the OTA. Finally found a way to get the OTA update with the Beta opt-in hack. Enjoying Android 13 now on my Pixel
Have you tried multi device audio broadcast in Android 13. It should be enabled because of Bluetooth le 3 codec. Basically allows one to share audio to two wireless devices and is the dual audio jack hub for Bluetooth.
I used to have Motorolas for years and it always had a "chop" gesture for flashlight. I was pleased to see a similar tap feature for my new pixel but just now realized it's new for everyone else too. I might not have been able to deal without it that's how useful it is
Idk about everyone else but I want lock screen widgets back or some form of customization. IOS finally got that feature and Android removed it years ago. I've noticed that while very slowly IOS has been allowing more customization while Android has been removing it. I'm talking about straight up Android not skinned versions. We used to have lock screen widgets (Jelly bean). In Android 11 we used to be able to change our quick toggle menu's icons, font, and color.
Agreed. I've been using Android since gingerbread and love the OS. But iOS has been making great improvements to customization and the "look and feel". I may actually jump to the iPhone 14 this fall from my pixel 4xl if it has an AOD
@@EvanRys I actually tried using iPhone back when the 11 came out for like 2 months and I didn't like it. Yes, it's polished and nice but they do so many things strangely that it was a nope for me. For example, the Bluetooth quick toggle doesn't turn off the Bluetooth. I kept finding myself constantly turning it off because it toggled on by itself. When you use the quick toggle it only greys it out. I had to go into the settings menu and turn it off from there if I didn't want it to turn back on. Not being able to clear app cache is another one. Sometimes if an app begins to crash just clearing it fixes the issue or sometimes you just want to clear it because it uses phone storage. You can't do that on iPhone. Not being able to have a clean home screen with one - two folders is another. Having to use a lightning cable when everything else uses USB-C. (Soon to change in Europe) Or simply not being able to change your phone booth, call dialer, calculator, messages app etc. etc.
I want the quick access buttons back and not these god awful tiles. I have bad eyesight so I have to use larger fonts which causes the tiles to be animated with scrolling text making them harder to read and it's just ugly and non intuitive. I hate this BS Material You crap.
Would have wanted the return or at least possibility of the old back gesture from the left or right of the bottom edge. In most of the games I accidentally hit the back gesture and it's annoying a.f. Or at least if they insist on having it left and right, let me decide witch zone from left and right triggers this gesture.

I wouldn't care about their terrible design choices if they gave you an option to use things the way you wanted. Imagine being able to actually choose a skin with the features you wanted and future updates only modified the back end code where security and such are important. The interface should be 100% customizable. We have the technology to be able to do it but they tell us how we will use the devices and what ugly @ss features we will use. Makes me want to go back to a flip phone.

QR codes before weren't that hard to get to. You make it sound like you had to go through several steps before to get the QR scanner, but in reality, most camera apps have native QR functionality, and the camera app is usually mapped to a double press of the power button. press power twice, scan QR code, done. not complicated at all. The quick settings QR scanner was unneeded.
Even on old Samsung S9 QR scanner just works in camera app without having to use a 'setting'. Have S22+ now. Should get rid of QR code button from Quick Settings menu
I got a 2GB update which installed the same version of Android 12 that I already had (with the same July security patch) instead of Android 13. You couldn't make it up! 🙄
I find it weird that Android 13 still has the old style sliders even after bringing the more filled in sliders for volume and brightness adjustment. These small things just make Android feel inconsistent
Where is the ability to choose which volume the volume buttons adjust by default? If I'm not playing media I don't want them to adjust media... they should be situational. If you're doing nothing with the phone they should default to ringer volume. If you're listening to media they should control media.. Samsung got this right. Not sure why Google locks the user out of choice.
I need to know how to reduce the media player back to one line as it takes up to much space and go back to 3 option when I plug it into my car not the 5 I now have. I am dyslexic and dysgraphia and things are too busy for me to read.
There is a misinformation in the video regarding the photo picker. The photo picker indeed allows the app the entire access of the gallery. Now in Android 14, the feature of allowing an app to access only a partial set of gallery files has been introduced, at last.
Just got android 13 in samsung A52s but the media plauer thing does not happen in my device. Is it a pixel exclusive thing or do i have to enable something to achieve that squigly thing?
Is there a way to adjust screen brightness without swiping down twice? This was fixed in cyanogen mod yeaarrss ago but I still haven't found this option in new versions of android.. :(

I hate that you have to turn the phone on to use the double back tap. It defeats the whole purpose of the double tap bringing more convenience. Why can't they do what old OnePlus did and make an option to draw a "V" (or any other simple shape) on the actual screen to enable the torch? I'll always miss my old OnePlus 5T for that feature...

The only thing i wish Android would have is the text reaction like the IPhone has. I love the fact you can react to a text message. Wish Android would have that. 😁
Hello ! Is it possible that we can completely disable the quick settings on the lock screen ? so that if someone steals your phone they can't turn off mobile data and then we can track the phone using the find my device app. Combine that with setting google assistant on the power button so that they can't even turn it off without going in the quick settings..
