You just need the firefox addon h264ify. TH-cam uses VP09 as standard encoder/decoder for which the Raspberry Pi has no hardware acceleration. The Pi only can play H.264 in 1080p without high CPU load.
I'm hyper impressed with this thanks! I thought I would try it for fun. First impressions... brilliant. 64 bit too! I use the Arduino IDE a lot which can be sluggish at times installing boards and libraries. So I installed it as a brutal test. Very, very good! 😃 Having Nemo installed really helps (I used to manually install it on pi OS/raspbian). I like to be able to open folders in terminal and have the bookmarks.
I have been using Pop as my daily driver on desktop for years and haven't had any issues. However, I do think COSMIC or any other GNOME style DE is not going to be a good choice for the underpowered Pi. 1.3gb is just too much ram wasted while idling. My Raspbian is using 300mb even with retropie FE.
Great review. I was excited to see this new update to Pop! OS because I have many issues with Ubuntu for my particular type of work. I was able to install this on a new Raspberry Pi 4B with 8 RAM with a 256 GB SSD (in an Argon M.2 case). First thing I did was update (and then upgrade). Unfortunately I had issues right away. The first issue was that it only used 8 GB of the 256 GB SSD. I got warnings right away about low root space as I installed programs. I had to download Gparted to expand my partition. Fortunately that worked. I continued to download some useful programs, but found that Thonny (Python IDE) would not download from their App store. I could not get it to download successfully from the terminal window as well. Then I began to find that many of the libraries and SDK's I use in engineering and software development would not install. So I am going to have to pass on Pop OS! for now. Like you, Twister is my favorite OS for the Raspberry Pi . (Raspberry PI OS heavily reconfigured as you have mentioned in your previously mentioned videos is my next best choice.) Both Twister OS and Raspberry Pi OS run all my software and engineering applications with no real issues and without lengthy fixes. I just wish I could get a good 64-bit version so I could leverage the full power of the hardware I use.

Open the app Disks and see if you can increase the partition size. It's 8 GB by default and is almost full.
Why use this over Ubuntu?
Preference probably. everything is debian or arch with different desktop environments and themes
They actually customize the GNOME desktop to be more usable/sane.
Pop is basically uncanonical'd Ubuntu. If you have to ask what that means you probably can just stick with Ubuntu.
