Rate my professor is definitely a must! as a college student sometimes you cant avoid bad professors but its helpful to chose the professor that best fits your learning style
I don't think we have that here in england but it sounds so helpful! I have a small channel where I make lifestyle, fashion and beauty content! It is my dream to reach 2k so I'd love if you could check out my content and maybe subscribe if you feel like you'd enjoy it! If not no worries & stay safe! ❤️
BYU sophomore here: your experience is what you make it even without the pandemic. It's definitely much more important now, but I still found that people either had a great time or they didn't but it was up to them to make it good or bad in all situations. Glad you learned that early on!
Exactly! I was in college before covid and was really shy and didn't put in a ton of effort to make/keep friends and really didn't get to meet a lot of people/do a lot of stuff/make close connections with people. I started grad school during covid online but really put in the effort to get to know people and make friends and now I have an amazing group of friends who I've had so many great times, adventures, and memories with! I have way more friends (and way more fun with them) now than I did in college pre-covid. I see people complain about how the pandemic means they weren't able to make friends at their new schools/jobs/whatever but the truth is, assuming you want more than "I sit next to you in class" kind of friends, it always has been and always will be up to you to make the effort.
@@inpiglatin but how would you even have the chance to meet people when everything is online? I started university in 2019 and found a bunch of good friends and I'm very glad about that because I haven't been able to go to uni since March 2020, so I didn't get to to know any new people
@@marymyer1735 well luckily I don't have to because I already have good friends, but personally I find all these online meetings really awkward, especially with strangers. I know a few people who started uni this semester and they all pretty much didn't find any friends at uni, yes they have seen a few people at a zoom meeting, but that's not enough to form a friendship in my opinion. It's just not like a real meeting.
This is BY FAR the best advice I’ve ever gotten about college! As a high school student I can 100% say the procrastination method works (at least for me) because if I know I have a lot of time to write something, it’s much easier for me to get side tracked and not get anything done and just waste time that I could be using doing more fun stuff! When I’m near a deadline especially for English, it’s soo much easier to just spit out info and write faster which generally makes the paper have more info cuz ur just putting in everything you can think of that relates to the topic.
i totally agree that college professors aren’t as strict as high school makes them out to be! last semester, my professors were super understanding and pretty laidback
Biggest things and best tips I learned from my first term: 1. Have three to four notebooks per class, lecture notebook, textbook and reading notes notebook, combined notes notebook, and then if it is like a math course, have a practice problem notebook or use an iPad if you have one with the apple pen 2. If you have recommended weekly readings, read them the weekend before so if you have class Monday read the readings the Saturday and Sunday before 3. Work at a time that is best for you, like Kamri said, she works better at night (so do I), so schedule around the time you work best 4. Take breaks and keep up with taking care of yourself, for example, eat and workout lol
This is amazing advice! I work better at night too! I have a small channel where I make lifestyle, fashion and beauty content! It is my dream to reach 2k so I'd love if you could check out my content and maybe subscribe if you feel like you'd enjoy it! If not no worries & stay safe! ❤️

Let's all pray that 2021 is going to be our year and we will reach all our goals & dreams, mine is to reach 20k!💞Stay positive everyone & have an amazing rest of the week!
Some of my best essays have been done on 4 hours of sleep. I’ve submitted project powerpoints an hour before they were due. Pre requisites are annoying but not bad. Make sure you are not going to be miserable with how you pair classes. Your professors will be your best friend and will support you for absolutely anything. They have experienced the same thing. College is awesome!
I am a senior in high school and STRESSED OUT lol about what college I will go to. I am currently waiting for BYU to send out their letters and I have been accepted to BYU Idaho. You said that no matter where you go you will have fun. The experience is what you make it. That honestly brought me so much peace and helped my stress level to go down. It was honestly an answer to my prayers so thank you so much!!
I’m a senior in highschool getting ready to go off to college in the fall, and this video actually really helped! i’m kinda nervous and knowing that it’s really what you make it helps!
I completely agree with #1. I got rejected from my dream school and had to go to my backup. I was so worried that I would be miserable and thought I would transfer after a semester. However, here I am as a Senior graduating in May and I have loved my college! Just goes to say that you really just make the most of your situation, and you will have a great time and a wonderful college experiences regardless of where you go!
I have the SAME realization that HighSchool teachers made me so nervous and stressed for college because I was already stressed in HS will all AP and higher classes and doing it on my own with little to no helper was making me worried about how my future would be for college but the majority of the professors are SUPER forgiving and have real life talks with their students because they understand the situations us college students are put in just to attend the college. I’ve only had like 3 professors I wasn’t huge on but I’m a sophomore so that’s saying something lol.
happiness at a college is not guaranteed, sometimes a school just isn’t the right fit for someone. but it’s okay!!! because you can always transfer or change things up in your life, the decision you make for college isn’t permanent
Kamri, thanks for not giving the typical answers. Also when you shared #10 I could totally hear your dad say, "don't forget to remember who's you are"!
Thank you so much!!!! I am a senior in high school and everyone I talk to is so stressed out and I am over here chillin and your video literally proved my point! God Bless 💗
About rate your professor: most of the mean comments are from students that failed the class and are angry about it so don't take them so seriously... But definitely beware. And sometimes you won't have a choice of professor... Because I take classes that fit in my schedule so sometimes I don't have much a choice of who teaches my class. But if you can chose the professor I definitely recommend rate your professor. (Just my opinion not saying what she said is wrong but this is just my experience)
I go to university in the UK and I feel like a lot of this video applies to school here too and it just gives more reassurance that other people are thinking similar things to you about how things are going (procrastination, not enjoying certain classes etc) so thank you for making this video!
honestly I went to college from 2006-2010 and I loved many of my gen ed classes. you get to pick pretty much what you want. i took an intro to pop culture class and we mainly watched old films and discussed them. also i didnt know my major at 1st gen ed can help you see what you want

I feel the procrastination. There are 2 instances where i nearly cried but got a great grade. 1. I had to do a three day food log for my nutrition class that I forgot about until like 4 hours until the due date (hallelujah for my fitness pal 😂) 2. For public speaking. I researched, wrote, and gave a speech all in the same day it the speech was due 🙃
loved the ending and how you look at having online classes in such a positive way instead of cribbing about having missed on experiences...love from india
You should do this video concept again when you get to your junior/senior year and take upper level classes. To me (a December 2020 grad) this advice is spot on for Gen Ed classes and lower level courses. But your collegiate habits tend to change as you get older!
hii i just finished my first sem too!! my advice would be bring tide pods for laundry its much easier to store and use than a huge thing of liquid detergent. also keep clothes on hangers when you pack them it will b much easier to hang up (if you are given closet space)
Going along with rate my professor- my mom is a professor and the only people that really use it to rate either really hated the class or loved the class. There isn’t a lot of in between ratings which can definitely effect it
You are so kind, considerate, supportive, thoughtful & so much more! You've achieved so much & inspire me with my videos!! I hope my channel can be as successful as yours one day!! I hope anyone reading this has a great day! ❤️
hi everyone, community college freshman here. fall 2022 transfer. :) here’s some advice I learned from my first semester so far- 1. Procrastination will be the death of you. Do not fall behind. I know this is the case with stuff in general but college, it really matters. I slacked off during my first month of college and catching up was so hard because new information is thrown at you extremely frequently as it is college. 2. Reach out to people for help, especially online with the pandemic. I feel like Zoom counseling or tutoring is way less intimidating than if I had school on campus for my first semester since I am quite reserved and shy. There will always be faculty and people at your school that will want to help you and trust me, no matter how good of a student you were in high school, you will need help in college. 3. Community college is NOT easier than a 4-year college. I don’t know why but during my high school years, my teachers always diminished the importance and rigor of community college. It is not easy. I was a 4.0 student in high school and I struggled with my workload. Mostly because of the procrastination though haha. 4. If you don’t have the money to afford a 4 year, please go to community college first to get your GE’s done in the first 2 years. Don’t feel pressured to go into debt for 4 years or college instead of 2 at 18 because community college is stigmatized as being not as hard. CC gives great cheap education and all colleges make freshmen/sophomores take GEs during the first 2 years. Might as well save thousands of dollars while doing it. ;) 5. Don’t be too cocky during your class registration. Don’t sign up for 7 college classes during your 1st semester of college because you took that many in high school. I took 4 for my first semester and it was A LOT of work. You may be great at school but please don’t overestimate your abilities and save yourself a lot of stress by starting off with manageable goals/classes. finally, don’t stress too much. You will figure it out. You will be okay and if you aren’t, the semesters go by really fast anyway with the amount of work college entails. You got this, you amazing ladies and gents. :)
This was really helpful for me to hear! I'm in my last year of high school right now and I've been subconsciously stressed about everything that might happen night year and you kinda just spoke to a lot of my fears and made them less scary :)
Janhavi Nistane same here! I have a small channel where I make lifestyle, fashion and beauty content! It is my dream to reach 2k so I'd love if you could check out my content and maybe subscribe if you feel like you'd enjoy it! If not no worries & stay safe! ❤️
I went to college 2013-2017. I wish someone told me that going to college wouldn't magically make things easier. To this day, I struggle with finding my way and making myself into something I want. I know this is deep, but it's the real, honest truth.
Tip from someone who transferred: it’s also okay if you don’t have a good experience!! If you’re unhappy at the school you chose initially then you can leave and find somewhere that WILL make you happy!! Don’t feel like you’re forced to stay in a specific major or institution if you don’t feel like you belong and feel down and blue!!
as a freshman, I didnt' cook a ton (I used dining halls because I lived on campus) BUT I COOKED all the time when I moved into my first college apartment and so did most people I know.
Kamri honestly I work better at night too it's weird how working at last minute works way better than working on time for the majority of the time. Thanks for the advice
another thing as u go on in college, make sure u take the right fit of courses and know what ur going into once u finalize a set of courses. cant emphasize this enough! try to balance out GEs and major courses as u prefer, definitely balance them out since some of my best semesters were with the right load knowing how many courses i can manage (or suffer :) that require more time didn’t think of these in the beginning because my freshman and sophomore year it didn’t affect my gpa but as time went on, we had more projects and courseload so make sure to balance out with what u can handle!!!!
After i saw the video, i was really confused on a few things but they seemed intresting too ! I swear the Indian Education System is sometimes the worst ! We have to pay too, nothing is free here . And we never get to choose our syllabus, professors or timings ... it's a mess honestly !
Kamri and I are exactly in the same age, I'm just finishing my 1st sem in college.... I related to like most of her points( except the cooking one, all the rest) Indian education system is terrible but looking at the hind sight,we can't help it! We have to learn our way through... Our seniors or the previous batches have had worse things than now... Let's do our best! 12th grade is fun and all those stressed nights will be a sweet memory only... And might I say... Once u get into college school things dont even matter
choosing my college has been the most stressful experience in my education this far. I’m still nowhere near a decision because it’s based on financial aid, but at least i’m graduating high school with an associates.
I’m from England so I think college to you is our equivalent of university. I’ve applied for 4 and I start my first year (sophomore year I think) in September and I’m honestly so scared and worried about it but I found these things really useful, thank you.
Omg the rate my professor website is the best thing ever! I used it and found a professor I love and I have had multiple classes with her. I have used it though and got a professor that I didn’t end up liking, but now I know not to take her again. My best time to get my school work done (I’m a sophomore in college on my second semester) is between 10PM-4AM I have no idea why. And I normally wait till the last minute to get my work done, but it’s gets done.
Hi Kamri, I agree what you said. There some people is how did they get raise to act this way. In college just have to be aware of your surrounding and respect that everyone is raise differently. For example, some more healthy than others. I don’t recommend staying in your room all day. It makes the college life not has interesting. I agree with you about the textbook you can find cheaper ones online.
I red rate my professor after I chose my classes for this last semester and my history professor had bad ratings. However she didn’t live up to those people said bad things about her and that they hated her class but I enjoyed her class and I got a good grade. Moral of this story is that the ratings aren’t always true.
For most of my courses at university (in Sweden) the grade only depends on one final exam. But if you don’t pass that exam you can retake it until you do.
Kamri, your so adorable no wonder your parents love you so much. Thanks for sharing your story with us that watch your channel. Outstanding job young lady.
i don’t agree that no matter what you’re going to be happy. bc i think college is stressful and you might not be able to make friends and be able to see others. so i’m actually depressed at college and only happy when i’m home.
I think this is a good starting point but I also think it’s important to note that everyone’s college experience is different. For example, I found it hard to make friends even if I put myself out there, the environment of your college is going to change your experience, there will be things that are similar but your choice does matter too. Also, I cooked almost everyday because I couldn’t afford to buy food out all the time and sometimes you have flat mates that don’t want to do flat meals. I wouldn’t take this video as gospel, some of it is very true, like about professors being pretty chill, but it’s not 100% what college is going to be like for everyone, just take it as a rough guide. So true that you learn a lot about yourself, I’ve learnt so much about myself and what I need and want in life and how to live with other people and just navigate the world.
I’ve been out of college now almost 6 years, when commuting to school leave early even if it’s 20 minutes away. I also wish I made more friends in college.
I envy you guys really are great and good people which is rare to find like your parents really raised you very well I really respect them cuz all of you the twins, rylan, dax and paisley you are all great love ya! I hope to have kids like you guys in the future if I am gonna gave 😅❤
Don’t worry about choosing your right college or major right away. I changed majors and had to change universities because of that and literally no one cared. ^^
I just turned 16 in December and I'm going to be going to college this year!! I can't wait!! I know my life will drastically change, as in staying up late at night and doing college work, more stress for exams, nervousness.. but still.. It's exiting!! I hope I get chosen in the college I want to go to... I mean if they don't choose me.. then it is really they loss, coz I'm a pretty fun one (wink, wink).
@@thisismyname6715 Yours seems way better ..I swear the Indian Education System is sometimes the worst ! We have to pay too, nothing is free here . And we never get to choose our syllabus, professors or timings ... it's a mess honestly !
@@Herurrr Yes in the UK we also dont chose our syllabus or professors. There are just no Gen Eds. If you apply for a degree in economics, you will study economics and mathematics only for three years on a set course plan. The only choice is the timing of your tutorials since usually there is max 15-20 people in a class. I prefer it this way though. My American friends only studied lower level economics, since so much of their time at university was spent studing things that are not economics. The topics we covered in second and third year they do not cover until grad school. They had never seen a proof until grad school which was crazy to me.
I live in the Netherlands so when it's 4pm for them, it's 11pm for me. So I stay up until midnight 3 times a week (monday cutegirlshairstyles, wednesday brooklynandbailey and thursday kamri). So i'm pretty tired :)

Might as well save thousands of dollars while doing it. ;)
I'm a sophomore in college now, and I fully agree with all of this, even prior to the pandemic I relate a lot to this when I started college.
This was really helpful for me to hear! I'm in my last year of high school right now and I've been subconsciously stressed about everything that might happen night year and you kinda just spoke to a lot of my fears and made them less scary :)
That intro tho painful lol also early!
8:02 Omg finally someone sensible and realizes its good and doesn't say its bad
This was so thoughtful. Made me realize some stuff.
Can you do a tutorial on your waves for your hair? They are so pretty. The ones from your "what I got for Christmas video."
Whelp I’m in high school and I have stored this in the back of my head for college....
as a freshman, I didnt' cook a ton (I used dining halls because I lived on campus) BUT I COOKED all the time when I moved into my first college apartment and so did most people I know.
I need a part 2 please loll. Maybe like tips for college.
Kamri honestly I work better at night too it's weird how working at last minute works way better than working on time for the majority of the time. Thanks for the advice
Just finishing my first semester in college and I agree with all these!
another thing as u go on in college, make sure u take the right fit of courses and know what ur going into once u finalize a set of courses. cant emphasize this enough!
try to balance out GEs and major courses as u prefer, definitely balance them out since some of my best semesters were with the right load knowing how many courses i can manage (or suffer :) that require more time
didn’t think of these in the beginning because my freshman and sophomore year it didn’t affect my gpa but as time went on, we had more projects and courseload so make sure to balance out with what u can handle!!!!
Kamri omg you’re literally just the best we love you queen 🥰
So like i finished university 7 years ago and i agree with most things here! Especially that procrastination works lol!
omg this is such good timing! i'm going to defend my college thesis in two hours! wish me luck ✨
Good luck!! 💋's - Kamri
Some of my best friends from university were made at 2am in the library to finish an assignment! Also google scholar is life 🙌🏻
After i saw the video, i was really confused on a few things but they seemed intresting too !
I swear the Indian Education System is sometimes the worst !
We have to pay too, nothing is free here .
And we never get to choose our syllabus, professors or timings ... it's a mess honestly !
Kamri and I are exactly in the same age, I'm just finishing my 1st sem in college.... I related to like most of her points( except the cooking one, all the rest)
Indian education system is terrible but looking at the hind sight,we can't help it!
Hi Kamri! So excited to hear this! Really needed this! Love you!
Yay! So glad I could help! 💋's - Kamri
@@kamrinoel OMG thank you for responding!!

I’m from England so I think college to you is our equivalent of university. I’ve applied for 4 and I start my first year (sophomore year I think) in September and I’m honestly so scared and worried about it but I found these things really useful, thank you.
I hope your having a great time at college kamri! love you! ❤❤
Hi Kamri,
I agree what you said. There some people is how did they get raise to act this way. In college just have to be aware of your surrounding and respect that everyone is raise differently. For example, some more healthy than others. I don’t recommend staying in your room all day. It makes the college life not has interesting. I agree with you about the textbook you can find cheaper ones online.
online college in france on full lockdown is sooo hard mentaly talking
Aww sorry:/
@@Xx.bygracethrufaith thanks jenna!
@@crazymessofc just remember you're not alone this has sucked for all of us♥︎😉
Your awesome Kamri! I love your videos so much. Love from Canada💜
I red rate my professor after I chose my classes for this last semester and my history professor had bad ratings. However she didn’t live up to those people said bad things about her and that they hated her class but I enjoyed her class and I got a good grade. Moral of this story is that the ratings aren’t always true.
going to college in the fall! debating between missouri and tennessee!
Go to a top 20 university
You should do a things to bring to college that no one talks about video!!
For most of my courses at university (in Sweden) the grade only depends on one final exam. But if you don’t pass that exam you can retake it until you do.
Im a canadian high school senior so i will definitely take this into consideration as i make my uni decisions! Thanks so much kamri
Watch your vids all the time! Thanks for your good info! It educates + makes me laugh!
I’m not anywhere near college but this video was a good heads up for me. We love you Kamri!!
she’s literally so beautiful not even funny
Kamri, your so adorable no wonder your parents love you so much. Thanks for sharing your story with us that watch your channel. Outstanding job young lady.
okay, hold up...so i am going to address the fact that Kamri is like the prettiest human being ever!! like omgoodness! so beautiful!!! love ya girl💗
i don’t agree that no matter what you’re going to be happy. bc i think college is stressful and you might not be able to make friends and be able to see others. so i’m actually depressed at college and only happy when i’m home.
Your hair looks so cute!
Btw: I love your vids!!!!!
I’ve been out of college now almost 6 years, when commuting to school leave early even if it’s 20 minutes away. I also wish I made more friends in college.

I hope your second semester goes amazing!!
🥳🥳 we made it through finals. Love your videos !!!! What are you studying and you sisters ?
True
Don’t worry about choosing your right college or major right away. I changed majors and had to change universities because of that and literally no one cared. ^^
I can't wait to start my first year of college starting in fall 2021 as a photography major!!
I’m a going to be going to Utah for college in the fall and I’m actually so excited your videos have been really helpful girl!
I'm currently a high school junior, so thank you so much for making this video!
You have such a positive and admiring personality! Good luck next semester Kamri! 💗
Girlll thanks for the video i’m graduating early too and i’m so excited
I just sat here realising the enormous difference in her education system compared to mine(India)
Yeah same here (UK and Germany). So grateful we don’t have Gen Eds. What a waste of time, and money since Americans have to pay lmao.
If you don't cook or go to the grocery store, who do you eat?? I'm in college and I cook all the time...
When it says it was posted 17 minutes ago but there are comments from 25 minutes. Interesting
Just adding to the textbook tip: it totally depends on your major if you need to really buy your textbooks or not.
I’m never early cuz I’m always at school when people post 😂
Sophie Sings SAMMEEEE 😂😂😂
I live in the Netherlands so when it's 4pm for them, it's 11pm for me. So I stay up until midnight 3 times a week (monday cutegirlshairstyles, wednesday brooklynandbailey and thursday kamri). So i'm pretty tired :)
