My 86 year old mom’s favourite singer. She still listens to TM on her transistor and Spotify. Whatever Sahar Zaman said, I have heard from mom many times over the years… Reg Anil Biswas on his voice… etc.
I hear TM when I am stuck in Bombay traffic. Soothing.

34:58 He was my father's first or second cousin. He lived at my house in Calcutta when I was a baby.My mother said she teased him about something .My father Prof.Fakhruddin was a world famous busy scientist. My house was full of his records. My younger brother Khalid was close to his son.He named his son after my younger brother with my mother's permission. Later my brother helped put up a concert in Talat Mehmood with his son Khalid. My brother was ICSC ,AMU engineering college topper. He got a job in L&T.Then as a Cheif engineer Medina Electric Supply. A song picturised on Manoj Kumar for AADMI was first recorded in Talat sir's voice but later it was given to Mahendra Kapoor ji as the actor felt Talat sir's soft voice didn't suit his character.

Even today, playback singers don't get any royalty. In fact, they can't sing a single line of their own popular numbers at private concerts as the rights are owned by Music companies.

I wonder sometimes that TM was never awarded by film fair in spite of a long list of wonderful melodies perhaps he wasn't good at PR

Can anyone share their opinion on why people who dress a certain way, look a certain way, coloured hair etc., always are pro-Islam? This is a trend not just in India, but across the world. They tend to always support the Islamic cause and have a soft spot for all things Muslim.
