r beny, your videos make it clear that it depends on the musician and not on the equipment. you always magic great music, no matter which electronic device. love it and merry christmas for you.
they are definitely rad. a buddy of mine turned me onto them. they are for sure nice to have around, they can run on batteries as well. will be doing a lot of portable video stuff with these this fall.
Nice choice of equipment. Digitone is one of my favorite synths hands down. How is the peak? I almost got one months ago but got an octatrack and deepmind12D bundle pack instead.
for the peak, it's an acoustic guitar stand from k&m. i use the same one for my modular as well. for the digitone, it's a stand from kvgear. i chose these stands because they have rubber feet, so they don't go sliding on my smooth desk
Hey Austin! Could you share how your midi is routed for this setup? Also, if you were to use the keystep to control both DT and DN, how would you run the midi? Super dups inspiring music, as always!!
so it goes keystep midi out to digitone midi in, digitone midi thru to novation peak. you'd probably want to do something similar if you wanted to use keystep to control dt/dn at the same time. think of midi thru as making a copy of your midi cable. you would just have to decide on how you want the channels setup.
Hey, that’s beautiful work, thanks for sharing~ Still a bit confused about how does the sequencer handle the polyphonic midi inputs? Both synth and midi sequencer. Because as I read the manual, there’s only a “Chord” feature mentioned in the trig page, but that’s definitely not poly sequencing. And it’s said that Digitone can sequence up to 8 notes poly, I’m really curious about how does it handle that, and whether it’s editable. Thanks~
Hey Zetic, it indeed does polyphonic sequencing. You can play or input (and edit) up to 8 notes per step. It's described on page 29 of the manual. The "chord" feature is a separate thing. It allows you to hit just one key and it will output chords.
Really nice and soothing, remember listening it at work last week, kept me stress free :) Your music inspired me to carry on making music, so If you will have some spare time, I would really appreciate your input on my work.
This is nice. Do you use only hardware for you generative music or you use some hybrid approach like Pure Data + different hardware modules ? I like the hardware stuff but for large modular generative music it can cost a lot so i actually make generative music using Pure Data and i use some hardware in smaller quantity.
i've only been using hardware. i work on a computer all day long, it's very hard for me to get into the same creative space. i come from the guitar world, so the tactility of physical instruments was one that made sense when getting into this electronic stuff. that said, i think software is amazing. i'm sure most of of my favorite electronic/ambient records were made with software. i'd love to try pure data and max msp someday, maybe if i ever have a job where i'm not tethered to a computer.
I really understand. I am quite the opposite, i come from computer background so for me 12 hours or 2 hours on a computer is the same. On the other hand using hardware has advantages like you can focus on performing and the musical flow in a better way. Using software sometimes you are stuck in algorithms and you miss the smell of a fresh orange. Nevertheless modular generative music is Magnum Opus.
Your making me miss San Francisco, man....almost. I sure am keen on that peak. I'm a little worried it's just your semi magical touch though. You could make a crap sandwich taste good. I'll have to go check it out. See if regular old ambient people can make it sound good as well as absurdly (in the best possible way) ambient people.
It is 100% his ears and not his gear, but you could do a lot worse than a Peak. Also if you are missing SF just remember the horrible horrible traffic. On the plus side that gives me plenty of time to listen to R Beny in the Car.
the horrible traffic is real. i just sat in traffic for 3 hours to get to a gig the other night. the bay area has it's ups and downs. for all of the bad, i'm sure glad to be close to the ocean, the mountains, and a whole other host of amazing nature spots.
i used to use an iphone and a sonic port. i started using a panasonic g7 at some point last year, this video included. as great as the iphone was, i wanted something a little crisper. i still use the iphone for shooting videos on instagram.
Listening til 5:00 or so was well worth it.
Beautiful work as usual. Very inspiring.
Sooo good and inspiring man, great work!
This is really wonderful. Really enjoying the sounds you're getting out of the peak... it's on my to-get list.
Wonderful, I love the Peak and Digitone.
I always return to your works. Thank you so much for your music! It really means a lot to me.
Truly beautiful music man, absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work !
A brief history of time. Beautiful melody ❤️
I love this. very inspiring.
Love this song! This is probably the TH-cam video I revisit more than anything else. Big fan of your music!
Is not a song, is pure melody..
This is my favorite video you've put out yet! I love your videos and your albums!
Awesome work!
Somehow missed this one. But I found it when I needed it. Thanks for the refuge friend.
Thank you for the beautiful experience
I finally found the TH-cam end game and it's this channel :)
Always inspiring stuff watching the end boss!

Perfect for breakfast this sunrise by the ocean...serene and sweet
So happy to see Novation support your genius efforts
was a pleasant surprise to wake up to, especially considering i didn't even post this video anywhere :)
Amazing brother !❤️😍
Well this just cost me a peak. It's great thank you!!
Thanks for this Austin. Beautiful way to start this day.
really enjoyed that! thank you.
Beautiful music!
why listening to this, always gives me the feeling it's cleansing my soul
Hey beny, I came from Rephazer. I like your sound, thanks!
Great stuff. Got the albums on Bandcamp. Suadade is my favorite, lovely music.
This made my week.
I'm glad you included notes about the DD-500. I'm definitely curious about those two Boss boxes.
they are definitely rad. a buddy of mine turned me onto them. they are for sure nice to have around, they can run on batteries as well. will be doing a lot of portable video stuff with these this fall.
perfect combo
best two synths , i will buy those . i dont need more ,u can make 100 years music with those beast
both are so great. I'm still making new patches on Summit (upgraded from Peak) years later. so versatile.
see a new beny video.. get excited. love it!
Very nice! Visually it still has that eurorack vibe with the Peak angled straight up. 😃
you can thank my bad back! those guitar stands sure come in handy.
Oh darn. Permanent or temporary?
And why am I always to late to buy one of your tapes. Maybe it‘s not meant to be..
permanent, but it comes and goes. much easier on it to play with everything vertically.
r beny Sorry to hear. But it does not hold back your musicality, it seems!
I cried, bravo.
So inspiring
winding down with a new r beny composition... yes thanks
cool - like this - thanks for it
LOVE it!!
amazing
Awesome
We all miss you r beny. Hope this message finds you well.
message received, thank you. new videos coming soon
@rbeny It's a Christmas miracle! Seriously though. You have a gift my friend xo.
Very nice!
Can anyone tell me the brand of the colored cables? Can’t find them in any German store!
they are from Hosa
Welp I'm buying the album. You and Emily sprauge are my favorites!
thanks! emily is great, love her new record
Nice choice of equipment. Digitone is one of my favorite synths hands down. How is the peak? I almost got one months ago but got an octatrack and deepmind12D bundle pack instead.
i love the peak. the workflow works very well for me and it's extremely versatile.
Beautiful! What stand are you placing the Peak on? (I'm seriously considering getting one.)
What stand are you using for the Digitone?
for the peak, it's an acoustic guitar stand from k&m. i use the same one for my modular as well. for the digitone, it's a stand from kvgear. i chose these stands because they have rubber feet, so they don't go sliding on my smooth desk
@@rbeny Which K&M stand model number is it?
this is the one www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IY0BLB0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah man

r beny Thanks~I guess it’s just like the OT, which can’t do pedal tone and stuff like that...
That was pretty

boss dd-500. it's a beaut
r beny Cool. I was reading up on that pedal. Great specs. Is it able to handle modular synth levels without distortion?
GIVE US MOTE!!! ohh wowzers!!

Okay, too good not to follow! You've got yourself a new subscriber :)
Do you use an I phone and sonic port? I believe I seen your comment somewhere .. awesome quality of so
i used to use an iphone and a sonic port. i started using a panasonic g7 at some point last year, this video included. as great as the iphone was, i wanted something a little crisper. i still use the iphone for shooting videos on instagram.
Are u considering selling your modular :) This is beautyful, thank you!
on the contrary. i recently expanded my modular against better judgement ;) good to get into other workflows like this one.
Do you really have to be that good? Now i have to buy those synths... Damn
Which stand do you use for the digitone?
it's a guitar stand from K&M
Few gear...rich music
Me like
dikke shit!
and awesome set up!
For the digital haterrrzzzzzzz....
