- The way Fallout 4 handles unique weapons is a significant departure from the ways of Fallout 3 or New Vegas. There are still unique weapons you can earn from quests or find in the world, but they’ve largely been replaced by Legendary weapons with random effects that drop from tougher foes. Can You Beat Fallout 4 With Only Legendary Weapons? (in text form)
I ignored Codsworth, named myself, Legengary, and started assigning SPECIAL points. Because all weapons types can be used, there isn’t one specific stat that’s more important than others. I still drained Charisma and put a lot of points into Intelligence to level up faster, but the rest are pretty spread out. I used my invisible legs to push a tricycle into the river as an experiment to see if it would still be there 200 years later, saw the nuclear mushroom, took a nap, had a nightmare, woke up, used my patented close the doors technique to avoid the roaches, and escaped the vault. I forgot to see if the tricycle was still there, maxed out Intelligence, and got to work scrapping every object known to man. Now’s the time to explain what qualifies as a Legendary weapon.
For the purposes of this challenge, a Legendary Weapon is anything that has a legendary weapon effect, but they don’t necessarily need to have a prefix to be a legendary weapon. Kellogg’s Pistol refills your Action Points when you get a Critical Hit, which is the Relentless legendary effect. It doesn’t have Relentless in its name but is still a legendary weapon. If you happen to disagree with me, that’s okay. Feel free to dislike the video.
After scrapping damn near everything I could find, I got to work laying down all the wood poles in the world. Almost 1000 of them, to level myself up a few times. It took several minutes to do and leveled me up about 4 times. The first few perks I picked were like my first wife, useful to have on occasion but you wouldn’t be losing much by not taking them. Next came the task of getting my paws on a Legendary weapon. They’re usually more powerful than your standard weapons which makes them not the easiest thing in the world to obtain. I figured the smartest option would be to work with the Brotherhood early on. Completing the ArcJet quest gets you a Legendary Weapon. On my way to the police station, I encountered Wolfgang and convinced him to open fire on Trudy, hoping that they’d all end each other to give me something to laugh about. God wasn’t thrilled with my quest for blood and sought to smite us all with heavy doses of radiation as punishment for my evil ways.
Danse and nobody else with a name worth mentioning fought off the ghouls outside the police station, I ransacked their pockets for Chuck E Cheese tokens, Danse and I waddled our way to Arcjet, and the nothing continued. I’m effectively a soundboard at this point, how many times can I say the same things over and over again. Why are you even watching this? You already know what the answer is. Danse ended everything in his path until we got to the Reactor area and I did something… stupid. I activated the rocket test and ran outside the blast room before it went off. In an intriguing twist, standing 10ft away from a rocket propulsion test turns your body into something that resembles melted ice cream tossed into a forest fire. One time I missed the jump to safety, so I took the blast like a man and ended like a mouse. A few attempts later, I managed to get to safety, Danse unfortunately didn’t turn into paste, I snagged the Deep Range Transmitter, we left Arcjet, and I got my first Legendary Weapon

Paul was so brilliant man he succeeded greatly while moving to the beat of his own drum through and through... He blew me away in the Fallout 3 mothership Zeta challenge where he's traveling the ship killing aliens or whatever and he discovers the zero gravity docking area where the smaller ships enter up into the mother ship, and its like a pit of zero G leading straight down into space, so you know he had to try jumping down into it..when he saw how his body turned into zero G ragdoll physics before dying, that light bulb of his turned on and the next thing you know, here's Paul emptying his ENTIRE INVENTORY into the zero G pit just to see what would happen and the resulting hundreds of items flying around was frigging glorious LOL! That was him though, did it like no other a legend indeed R.I.P.
The best legendary weapon is the never ending double barrel. It fires comically fast and you never have to reload it so it’s a close range machine gun

I prefer my explosive combat shotgun. Just go backwards while )squeezing off a few shots. Watch the enemies go boom. You don't even have to be that accurate because the splash damage will wipe them out. I do not fear the creatures in the glowing sea.

@@weskintime4177 I just have to back I will as I am pulling the trigger. The explosive combat shotgun is not an in your face kind of weapon. It is great for Mid to long range opponents and you don't have to really worry about getting a good aim thanks to all the splash damage.

To be fair they are on the expensive side, they are worth as much as a .308
@@redreboot483 I am not sure comparing per-bullet price with .308 is a reasonable standard in any way. What I know is that I never run out of any ammo and struggle to sell off stuff, with the barter perk and some charisma. I float thousands of ammo in several of the non-rare calibers in no time after starting a character and I have to buy stacks of ammo just to be able to lighten my load at merchants. Although .308 is incredibly easy to place for 1-hit-kills at long ranges and thus being qualitatively different from fusion cells, I am strangely drawn to the though of what would African children give for either.

And the commando perk with the gun is way to over powered
Yup once I got it the only thing I needed was all the 308 ammo. Spray and pray is good but there doesn’t seem to be enough ammo to run full auto guns. Also you lose so much damage per shot when u convert to full auto. It is fun with mods however
@@AB-nv7bz yeah. my newest character is a level 27 commando build. As i write this Overseers guardian does 120 damage per shot and i only have commando 3. Incredibly op

phantom gameplay it’s a fun gun but it eats a lot of ammo. OG seems to be the best overall. 308 is expensive ammo but you don’t need a lot. I love the deliverer for inside with vats. It doesn’t do a ton of damage but with 20 or so shots and the perk that increases vats accuracy per # shots. You can explode 3 or 4 heads in one go.

To be honest I never expected this to blow up and now I just want to say that you have to gamble to get banned, since some lovely people have pointed that out and yes I know it’s possible but I feel like that would be painful for Paul and I think he could do it.

A while back, I watched these before playing Fallout at all. I thought that the “Triggermen refused to accept energy weapons as a legitimate class of weapon, so they take more shots to kill” was actually part of the lore, given all the weirdness in these games. It fit their name and use of classic submachine guns.

because he knew what was coming when he pissed off institute by killing the asshole son ... OG wouldnt work that well against that swarm of synths but AOE damage weapon cl;eared them without issues.
Also if you think OG is nuts i once dropped plasma rifle with that effect :) (alongside several others "doubleshot" perk legendaries ... its kinda easy on highest dificulty with weapon damage multiplyer mod (i hate bulletsponges and i hate being bullet sponge myself so since FO3 i always instal mod that makes weapons do ridiculous damage that mostly oneshots normal enemies but also they do truckton of damage to myself and offset that with armor mods that make PowerArmor clad foes and PC a walking tank as they should be)

@@danhughes1814 nah it's not. With the explosive and commando perk the spray n pray annihilates. Two shot weapons only do base damage for the second bullet, it's not affected by perks.
Nothing comes close to an explosive minigun use it in vats and it does say more damage than even the bar shows it's a bit glitchy and glorious also great out of vats just not as great

Been playing FO4 for the first time in ages. Never really could get into Bethesda games, but I got a legendary 10mm pistol off a radroach that does 50% extra damage to humans, popped on the rapid fire mod for 150 firerate, and a large quick eject mag. Nothing feels as pleasurable as mowing people down with a pistol from a cockroach.

I decided to do this playthrough, except I refrained myself from using unique weaponry gotten from merchants or quests. ONLY the random ones dropped from legendary enemies... And because why not, I did it with armor too, only random armor dropped from legendary enemies. Apart from finding the first legendary enemy, it was completely possible and actually really fun, having to deal with whatever weapon you end up getting. I don't know if anyone cares, especially almost a year later, but yah
I like this idea. Are legendary enemies in a specific area?

Buuut I think there's a few guaranteed to spawn across the map, you can find them on the fallout4map site if you wanna see where. You can also build random stuff in a settlement until you reach a higher level (I think 5 at least) and they'll start spawning randomly. It's really tedious that way cause you gotta wait on one to spawn, and then also just so happen to be in a scenario where they get killed by something, which is obviously quite rare

Spray and Pray is easily an endgame gun. The explosive damage staggers and doesn't require a direct hit. Low level enemies will be blown apart with a few shots at their feet, and high level enemies will stagger in place while you drain their health. Only problem I have with it is the explosive damage can kill you if you fire it too close, and it scatters items all over the place if you fire it indoors.
Also the Vault 111 Cryo gun is essentially a heavy weapons version of the same gun, and is extremely OP. The capsule mod turns it into a ballistic gun, and the capsules do explosive splash damage. Both guns get a bonus from the explosives perk.
