Brahms had such a genius for harmonic conclusions to his slow movements. This one is like a soul ascending into the clouds on its way back home. I feel great peace giving myself to the music.

That note. That first note of the piano after the prologue; it says everything beautiful words are incapable of illustrating.

"It's all about the Bass" with Brahms. I'm a Tenor from birth but I always hum to the bass line in everything he does. It's like he builds everything from the bass up. Chopin like tricky resolutions.

There aren't many passages of music I'd dare to say are perfect but this would be it. Every note and dynamic couldn't be better. A wonder😭😍

As vezes penso que a música é a única sanidade que restou num mundo insano.

I know I've probably posted this before but I've been performing and studying music my entire life and this recording of this piece of music is my absolute favorite of all time. He's on the very backend of every beat milking it like crazy💪💪👏👏. I've told my wife that this is my funeral epitaph🤯😭

La musica di Beethoven è geniale e ha mostrato nuove vie, ma quella di Brahms ha 1000 colori, ti prende il cuore e non lo lascia più...

13:55 sounds like Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto. I never noticed that!

Yeah, a very small section in a different key. I noticed it too and went back and listened to the Emperor. That happened all the time. Not as close as you think.

Direttamente alle profondità dei nostri cuori
Questo è molto caratteristico di Brahms nei suoi movimenti lenti.

Tokyo has already ceased the songs of autumn insects with the transient life .
Tokyo entered in late autumn when
    rowans turned bright red .
Hokkaido , where is a Japanese prefecture , is covered with snow by blizzard .
I am listening to this masterpiece while looking forward to Christmas coming .
In Tokyo , street trees in the main streets and houses here and there are shining with Christmas illuminations and decorations .
From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun .
Which national are you watching this video ?

Brahms at his majestic best. Wonderfully performed too, did Bernstein always prefer a moderate pace ? Love the phased images of the Schloss, does anyone know where this is I’m Bavaria I’m guessing ?

Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. Indeed, the images fit the mood of this piece perfectly. Zimerman and Bernstein at their best.
