    Howard Davis would have to be one of the best lightweights never to win a title. Was very unlucky against Rosario

    This fight and his bout against Vinny Paz were his best two fights post Rosario.

    Dont know why davis wasn't more aggressive here I know he wasn't an outstanding puncher, but his size and reach advantage I feel should have given him more confidence.

      Davis had the flu and shouldn’t have taken the fight, he did try to get a rematch but never got it ,I had an interview with Hector Camacho in a boxing publication called “ Boxing Update “ they were a little small sized boxing magazine papers that I subscribed to from the advertisements in boxing magazines like KO , Ring , and Camacho said you never know what Howard Davis will show up in a fight and he’s glad that one did .

    As an outside boxer Camacho lasted longer then leonard and Ali without being knocked out... means either superior footwork or just better legs, either way defensively he proved a better outside boxer than both by reducing the damage he took.

      Footwork aside, he's naturally had a great chin. You dont get hit that many times by prime Chavez , DLH and Trinidad and still standing at the final bell.

      Too funny I you can't compare anybody with Muhammad Ali he found Joe foreman, Ken Norton, Smoking Frasier and Sony Liston. They believed Joe Foreman and Sony Liston are the most powerful hard hitters of all time they could kill a horse with one hit but The greatest of all Ali beaten All

    The post fight interviewer had the personality of a chair. As much as I am conflicted about Larry Merchant, he always gave Camacho the platform in post fight interviews.

      Macho was on Sugars nuts he knew he got a old man when they foughf but Camacho...Was always broke...His mother was still in the same projects he was raised in..And later in Life He would get money advancements from Don King who was already screwing the fighters before the fight Hector he died a broke Cokehead but I learned to give him his due he did it his way he was the life of the party yes he did beat Sugar Ray but Sugar was way passed done when they fought but not that's Camacho fault he beat the man..Imagine if he'd had some guidance a man figure a father to help him thur life and lived right..Dam shame

    Too bad he was a gangster. He was one of my favorite boxers, but I have no respect for those that waste their life with the gangster life. This guy could`ve been one of the great ones. Instead he gets killed selling drugs and wasted his talents. A true champ helps people after they retire.

    • @Underhookmma
      @Underhookmma 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He wasn’t selling drugs pendejo, he was in the car buying them from his supplier when everything happened. You could easily argue that he didn’t chose that life, but instead that the street life chose him. This ain’t some suburban kid who was privileged with everything growing up and chose the street life after being successful, no. This man was born and raised in the tough streets of Harlem New York. Not like it is td. Way tougher. And when you grow up in that environment, with boxing being your only escape, there’s not many ways to improve your mental health in the process. A crazy man can only try and stay sane for so long. You can take a man out of the streets but you can’t take the streets out of a man, especially when that’s ALL he knew growing up.
