He said that his doti is dirty and doesn't want to dirty the sofa...!! I paid him. With a smile. Suddenly he vanished after 6 months. Sold his shop. Years rolled by. I was a very senior Boeing captain earning 3 lacs a month as an Indian Airlines captain, who was comming comming down, the staircase of kk nagar saravanabhavan, when Rajagopal' S salary in business was 3000 crores an year. Rajagopal was climbing up with his managers. He never recognised me, and I don't want to embarrass him with my conversation, reminding his very humble past. I was full of hatred for this animal , and years ago he was given double life sentences, in high court. One totally wrong information in your narration was, he never spent a single day in jail. Why didn’t Santa Kumar go to Mumbai and figure out a way for his wife to join him ..??? So heart breaking that such a love had to go through hell in this world
I can relate to this. One of my then colleagues, a doctor from Malar hospital in Chennai, who was staying with uncle during weekend was attacked by a group of men in the middle of a night in his sleep. He was alone in the house. During the process they were calling him by a wrong name. He screamed and said I am not “….”, I am “so and so”. They said “ sorry, mistaken identity”. I remember he had told the police the name Daniel, and that they were sent by Saravana owner, looking for his uncle who was working for Saravana Bhawan. This would have been between 1998- 2000.
Hey guys, the commercial isn't from the 80s, it aired at around 2005 - 2008. The channel logo you see in the bottom left, that channel also didn't exist until 2005 lol. Love from Chennai ❤

The downfall of Saravana Bhavan is really heartbreaking, there was one near my home, my family would often go there. It was one of the branches that faced the axe after Rajagopalan's death. There was another Saravana Bhavan located in Usman Road (a shopping hub in Chennai; started to cater to the shoppers); there was also a party hall behind the restaurant. The front restaurant is now owned by another great chain of South Indian restaurants, Murugan Idli Shop, and the party hall has now been converted into the Saravana Bhavan branch. I also remember going to the Saravana Bhavan in Muscat when I was living there, it was a 2 floor establishment, and it gave so much joy to see a South Indian restaurant at a foreign country. The K.K. Nagar branch continues to function at the same place. To be honest, my family no longer goes to Saravana Bhavan, the quality has degraded, it no longer tastes like before. Such an heartbreaking end for such great restaurants.
Is this podcast for destroying this business . Was the crime done for running hotel? No ..so don't mix up all. Then don't go to uK ,west, Arab nations ...all have blood in their hands.

I got acquainted with Saravanna Bhavan in Dubai in the early 2000s. Didn't become a fan instantly because the food that I ordered was super spicy. I left Dubai in 2022, but visited Dubai again in Feb 2024. I got invited for a buffet breakfast at Saravanna Bhavan. It was good this time.

There’s a Sarvana Bhavan in Dallas, Texas too. The guy had so much going for him and chose to be a jerk as his power grew. Kinda sad. Had everything, yet nothing at all. He grew his business but not his love for family.
i dont why but this story kinda reminds me of macbeth from the prospective that there too future was predicted, prophecies were made. there too Macbeth was said he gonna be the powerful w all wealth as same here, but what the owner of sharvana bhawan and macbeth didn't know was that wealth and power would come but at the cost of their lives. acc to me blind inclination towards spirituality and the tendency of non satiety are also responsible behind this wild ruthless character of one being. and aparr from this, this story has been incredibly presented before us by you two. you guys are awesome
