Hello! I just discovered your channel and am binge-watching from Episode #1! I've done embroidery since the 1970's and counted cross stitch since the '80's. What I learned about puckering of the fabric around stitches is that the thread tension is a little too tight. I'm looking closely at the picture of your lovely work on the "Sign from Heaven" cardinal design. I did notice on a previous episode another subscriber mentioned that the desired result of needlework is for the thread to lay on the fabric. She is right! Tension can be tricky when stitching in hand. After all these years I still use a hoop, pulling the material tight so that it's almost like a drum, and that way my stitches lay on the fabric. If you happen to relax the tension on the new stitches you put in, when the piece is finished and pressed, it is possible that the slight puckering will go away.
I’m adding my email address to my account right now. I too, am new to this. 😬 Trying to make it a clickable link - it’s Clutterbugcleanouts@gmail.com I will get this out to you as soon as I hear from the other winners. Thanks so much for watching!
