I was so incredibly happy when I won this entire tournament with my unique deck😭 I have been participating in LCS since 5th week and finally my time has come

Idk how viable it would be, but I'd like to see season 2 be about cards instead of archetypes. So instead of topping with an archetype getting that archetype banned, topping gets every card in the decklist banned (or hit for every copy in the decklist, e.g. 2 in decklist means the card gets limited, 1 in decklist makes the card semi-limited).
That way, it'd be literally the last cards standing.
I like where your head's at for getting cards band, but you'd have to do something to make sure that the card exposure would allow specific cards to show their problematic state.
So you make it a Singleton format where you can only run one copy of every non-vanilla cards. then ban all the cards that have a 100% pick rate and then a top 30 cards that show up in the top placements after that.

@@bonkchonkxb310 it's about trying to figure out a way to get good statistics and to make it more interesting than watching normal Yu-Gi-Oh. its hard to ban some cards without some type of theme to keep it interesting. If not, you just watch a normal Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and that's clearly not as interesting to watch, otherwise he would have a series of it on his channel.
So if I'm not cooking I'm curious what is the fundamental problem with the suggestion. I quit playing back when pendulum came out and i came back with materduel. So there is a lot I don't understand so please fill me in on the big problem?
Like I said on this exact suggestion a couple months ago. The logistics of pulling it is just too much. You need a dedicated database to track every single card that was used in the top 8. And you need to make sure people didn't accidentally use a random card that didn't see play but was on the top 8 deck.
@@GranMaj that is fair. the logistics may become very hard to handle, maybe after several tournaments. but you wouldnt ban full decks just the cards used that have a high play percentage across all the top eight decks. then you just release a ban list of cards after that. In the top decks would have to be submitted and could be demonstrated with a simple screenshot to the tournament organizer. so like a Word document with a list of banned cards and then just adding to That Word document wouldn't be too hard of a logistic the hard part is actually getting the people entering to bother reading the band list. so not that hard if ppl just look at the list.

As an LCS participant I would say
Only ban archetypal cards if they top, so for example when swordsoul tops, don’t ban Iris swordsoul (bc they don’t run it)
And maybe for situations like Albaz and visas, leave them alone but ban the strategy that topped
This way springans don’t lose 2 of their best cards really early on
Another example is Metaphys losing Nephthys
Or ban every single cards that were used up to 3 times. So the Garnets don't get banned til 3 tournaments later. Way harder to track though tbh
That's kinda complicated again. We know from Rotation that for example Iris is quite playable. One of the non-archetype bans would then have to go her way, and also every card would have to go onto the banlist separately.
You could ban every single card that's in a top decklist, I guess. But that doesn't take away that the banlist will be thousands of individual cards.
Metaphys armed Dragon not being legal so Ojamas never got a chance to Ojamassimilate even after ABC and the regular Armed Dragons got banned was a crime.

I honestly think that instead of banning the archetype of the top cut you should ban each individual card that is in the deck(s) of the top cut. So for example if someone tops with ash blossom in their deck, ash blossom is banned.
I like this, you can optionally add chaos to it by saying you are allowed any card availible in master duel as of a certain date, but any card used in a top deck/extra is cut. Imagine the jankness by the end of that
I would personally prefer if you left the top cut wheel at the end of episodes, because I really like not knowing what I'm going to see in these episodes. As for Season 2, I almost agree with what some other people have said in regards to not banning archetypal cards that don't make the top decklists, but I want to go even further: not banning archetypal strategies that aren't seen in the top cut. For example, Alien nowadays is all about getting to Cosmic Slicer Zer'oll, but I want to see people build around the stealing cards like Alien Hypno, Cosmic Horror Gangi'el, and Brainwashing Beam.

There's a pretty good mentality I think on people curious about banning the reverse, singular problematic cards.
But it's hard to expose that without really showing off a format of some form that makes it easy to analyze.
So run it as a Singleton format! You can only run one copy of every non-vanilla card. Then you ban all cards that top in that particular tournament that have a 100% pick rate. (Then the 30 highest pick rate or something after that so sure how to purge your cards the most effectively after the first part)

My LCS Season 2 idea is Small World the banlist. Basically you get unban a card that meets the small world conditions, but you to ban the 1 card from you deck + the bridge (which is also from your deck)
People still don't understand Small world, making it part of the banning system would lead to headaches only

For a season 2 players should start being able to play with 3 copyes of every card in order to shove in Konami's face that some cards shouldn't be restricted at all.
u could start season 2 with all cards in master being legal, disregarding the official banlist, a true wild west of the last card standing. and the winner can bringing back a card instead of banning.

Finally, Metaphys became almost meta. I participated in this tournament and even tho I lost in the early rounds, I am sooo happy that Antonis made it so far. Absolute champ! You deserved it!
It may be much more demanding or organize, but some sort of massive tournament style “archetype” bracket with rules on staples would be great for this concept. Except the deck to continue on is the losing deck. “Worst deck ever” all inclusive tournament.
Got an idea for the next season: Basically, the winner, in addition to the ban choice, also gets to choose one archetype that top but is tied for the fewest topping players and isn't the archetype they won with. That archetype gets every card limited. A Limited Archetype, if at least 8 cards appear in a topping deck together, gets banned afterwards. If less than 16 cards in the Limited Archetype exist, than half the Limited Archetype (rounded down) needs to appear in the same topping deck to get it banned.
Imagine LCS season 2 starting out with the final ban list of season 1, and the winners get to unban an archetype

for season 2 the winner can either choose to ban a card or to unban a card from the banlist (either the series' one or the official one) and/or the community can vote to unban an archetype or card(s) as the series goes on
i know unbanning cards could go against the original point of the series, and it's pretty much just a custom banlist at this point
next season, you should start w no banlist.
This was the most insane LCS
Yo this is truly an inspiring Yugioh series to show the creativity in deck building of the players. Despite having a lot of cards banned, people still find a way to do combos with their deck which make many interesting interactions back and forth. My favorite duel in this episode is between Antonis and Sann, both have amazing performances with their deck. Congratulations to Slenderman for winning the LCS with an amazing dragon link and to prove the point that DRAGON LINK NEVER DIES!!!
For season 2 you could not use the banlist let everything be full power. keep everything else the same but all cards are legal which will change up how things are played.
For season two ban the archtypes that make top cut like you already do but also ban any card that makes top 4

I think it would be cool if banned decks could still be used as engines- with like a max of 8 cards from that archetype with only one banned engines per deck. and If that engine tops then it gets banned. so you now have 2 banlists, Pure and Engine so we can see if a deck is better pure or as an engine.

How about this? kinda like a reverse lcs, you get to choose a secret pack, and you open enough packs to get a legal deck, then, if you win, you open a new pack from that secret pack to upgrade your deck. I think it would be kinda of nightmare logistically speaking as the decks can change drastically from match to match, but making them unpredictable and harder to pilot might be worth the effort.

Instead of banning entire topping Archetypes at a time next season, I want to see individual cards banned like little by little so we see more lists like this "scuffed" Dragon Link pile.
How about each topping list has to ban a card that only they were using from the group that made it that week, and the top 2 get to also decide among themselves between a Spell, Trap, Main Deck Monster and Extra Deck "Staple" ban(winner chooses who bans what in a 2-2 split). If that seems too slow then just ban every card that appears in the Top 4 in addition.

Maybe a rule that says you have to play a certain amount of archetypal cards to prevent pile decks and generic burn good stuff. On the other hand i like seeing decks like trap monsters topping.
Nah pile decks is where the deckbuilding creativity really comes out.
