The group had to perform makeshift surgeries, such as plucking the eyeballs out or cutting the tongue of the one survivor. After being unable to survive the surgeries, the 4 were placed in a makeshift tomb, far away from the group. The other 4 probably came back to the tent, no heating source and minimal clothing, attempting to understand the gravity of the situation. It is detailed that the journals were left untouched. Within this time, approximately 2-3 hours, the effects of Hypothermia most definitely set in, explaining the deaths of the other 4. My best explanation for the photograph would most likely be a damaged piece of primed film, which when in the blast, fired and cycled the photo. That’s my only guess.
Here's the most likely theory that has came out in the last couple years. The theory is once they all got into their tents and got undressed they started setting up their meal when they were hit by an avalanche and buried inside their tents under tons of snow. That's why they use their knives to cut through the top of the tent and unbury themselves. That is also why they didn't have any of their clothes on or any of their gear because all their gear was buried under the snow and they were focused on getting themselves unburied. Then once they were out they realized that they were going to suffer from hyperthermia quick so they decided to go to the edge of the clearing so they could get wood and start a fire. then as they were looking for wood some of them started passing from hyperthermia and the others suffering from hypothermia as well went delirious and did stuff like stick their foot in the fire once it was made. Then animals came and picked at their bodies. that's why they were all messed up with the eyes and everything.
@@lvlycats8180 Most scientists agree that a snow slab crushed them and buried them , caused them a lot of severe injuries (but not lethal) and then they cut the tent from inside and escaped without much clothing, and then they died from exposure, bad attempts to survive and hypothermia
The lamp they had in their tent also admits radiation, they did has a heater thing in there tent but it wasn’t put together. The best theory is the wind. It feels like the only thing that could accually get them that far away from the Tent… (the wind is super powerful something similar happened in the 70’s they only believe it bc of a surviver
Testing of a nuclear bomb created a loud noise the freaked out the people. The bomb also created an avalanche, which is why some of them were buried under the snow. The survivors created a snow den, and found some hanging mushrooms which they ate, went mad, and caused the bludgeoning, missing eyes, ripped out tongues, and the pieces of skin in the tree. They could have also encountered wild animals. The mansi mushroom theory seems most likely, but I feel like a combination of these the theories could explain it.
Nah your supposed to keep your clothes on because that is your body using all of its remaining energy to try to warm you up as like a last ditch effort
There could have been a fire on the inside of the tent which is why some of them had burns and missing clothing, but it doesn’t explain the swapped clothes or skin everywhere
I feel like swapped clothes is just unrelated to the incident that happened, they either were just high and decided to swap or being typical friends tryna do something stupid
My main theory is that they were doing some type of radioactive experiment in the tent and something went wrong let them to panic and cut out of the tent and running off and there that’s how they got the radio activity and the reason for the clothes changing because they ran out with no clothes and half of them were like half naked, so they took the clothes off of each other to stay warm from the dead people, and the reason they were buried worse because of because they were friends and they wanted them to have a proper burial and maybe the reason because of the like body parts missing was because for food, maybe they were starving or they were trying to do something, that’s my main theory
One of my best friends did this case as her English speech project. We were 15 and the look on everyone’s faces in the class was absolutely amazing, they all looked traumatised ( btw this is a class that says they love watching horror )
mushroom + bear theory combined makes sense when u consider the panicking and the 4 mangled bodies in the den, could’ve stumbled across the bear den trying to seek shelter, but would explain why the others in dif areas didn’t have heavy bodily injury
Ok this is my theory: Since they all were familiar with radiation themselves. One of them probably somehow brought some sort of radiation thing with them. It probably was spreading radiation poisoning to the people in the tent. They started freaking out, so they cut the tent and ran out. And maybe the radiation poisoning did something to their minds to make them go psycho. Idek I don’t know much about radiation. But I honestly can’t think of anything else.
hmm possible but i feel like they wouldn’t have done something stupid like that because they knew something could go wrong (also in general whose gonna bring something that has radiation?) ykwim
i think its the sound vibration theory and possibly the carbon monoxide. I dont think its a coincidence that nuclear scientists die with radiation poisoning either. maybe even an avalanche too
I think the mushroom makes the most sense for Doroshenko and Krivonischenko. Like the group stumbled upon the mushrooms and they could of just wanted a snack. And when they started tripping and running into different directions also made sense. I also like to believe that the reason why Doroshenko and Krivonischenko had burn marks on their bodies is because when they made that fire they must've not been getting enough heat into their bodies and so they must've had this idea that going into the fire would warm them up faster which explains their marks. They all were tripping so it wasn't the best idea. But I don't understand how their was torn cloth and peices of skin in the tree. But theres reasons on to why the mushrooms don't make sense for some of the other members with worst wounds. Like crushed chest and fractured skulls along with missing eyes and tongue. Along with radiation. But i personally think the mushroom had to have some sort of play into this, maybe the effects wore off on some of the others or the mushrooms had some more stronger effects on some of the group.
I think that they made a fire in the tent, and something was blocking the entrance, so they cut the tent to get out and that was probably why the dudes sock was chard and had burnt hair
I think that it was hypothermia, when the hypothermia is extreme you start hallucinating and could have caused a mass hallucination. The other four with the horrible damage could have been the hypothermia drove them so insane and that could explain the weird damage caused to their bodies. The radiation is because they were nuclear scientists and back then precautions with nuclear devices were not taken seiorsuley.
hypothermia doesnt explain them missing eyes and tongues, and that some of them had major charred body parts, if you look at the crime scene photos its very disturbing to see them. it shows their burns and misconfigured faces, they could not have done that to themselves (not being mean)
You should DEFINITELY look into the case of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon, two European girls gone missing in a hiking trip in Peru, their digital camera was found with pictures of the entire spiral.
I would absolutly agree with the mushrooms theory but the only thing bothering me about it is if they did consume the mushrooms.. it would have shown on the autospy right?? I think im sticking with the survivors theory for now.
here is what i think happend, as they said there clothes was radiating or sum like that, so i think after like 2 days they noticed and where like hey my skins burning up and im hurt i wonder why, then they find out its cause of their clothes and then they are like ok we take all the clothes we have that are radiated and we dont use them anymore instead we we split up the clothes that arent radiated so then they sit in there tent for days and cant leave cause all/most of there socks and shoes are radiated then its getting to cold and as said theres a blissard and so the tent is surrounded by snow so they cant get out so they cut open the top and just run out in the unradiated clothes that they do have just hoping to find sum to help them cause they have no other choice then they die. thats what i think happend.
Yeah! that was freaky. but it couldnt have been the yeti! it would explain all the disconfigurement of the body's, but it doesnt explain how only the hikers footprints were there. If it was a "yeti" dont you think that the footprints would be deeper and way longer? since this "yeti" would weigh way more than the average person! (not saying you were saying the "yeti" did it, just wanted to put my input!)
It for sure can’t be animals, because on the last four bodies, there were no external injuries and it’s not a good assumption that they split up right away because the footprints led straight to the tree line. It also couldn’t be an avalanche, because there were third degree burns on almost all of them, and the tent was still abound the snow. The most probable explanation is ether a supernatural event, or a Soviet weapons test in my opinion.

Hypothermia makes you do some crazy crap. I’m pretty sure it was hypothermia since they were found with little clothing and that’s one of the side effects of it; the body tricks itself into thinking its hot or warm in order to ‘cope’ with the cold, i guess you could say. Hypothermia also makes you go manic and crazy in the mind, so that’s probably what happened, but of course id doesn’t make it less freaky, especially knowing what that human brain and body can do to itself.
21:00 nuclear facilities could have been putting the waste into rivers which could have eventually flowed into the streams and other rivers where they were found
Bro, the fact that they were that fucked up on the insides but had no signs on the outside is crazy. Also the fact that they had body parts cut off and had high levels of radiation makes no sense. This is so wild
My theory is that someone was chasing them and they were in a rush so they through on random clothes and ran away yet some of people froze to death after they ran away
As a mystery fan who's seen a lot of videos covering this incident, there is a Dyatlov Pass movie called Devil's Pass. It released in 2013. I haven't watched it yet, possibly due to the 30% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Maybe the camp got on fire and caught them mid sleep waking up and tearing out of the tent, possibly a close bear near by was provoked by their movement and attacked leading to one by one dying? Idk
With there being no other sign of footprints from anyone or anything else it makes me believe somebody in the group was responsible for everything that happened
idea, the scientists had some radioactive items that were small and experimental. They got high on shrooms and one of them accidentally opened the container that had the item in it. It might've released some heat which may explain the burning but maybe a few of them just fell onto the makeshift fire that was made after. everyone runs with only a few people getting hit with the radioactivity and in a shroom addled rage some of them get into a brutal fight and when the hypothermia kicked in they went looking for shelter and heat and died. Because the government did not want to be at blame for giving these 20 year olds radioactive materials that poisoned some of them and was a partial cause of death, they took the radioactive item in secret and told them to search for radioactivity just to see whether or not it was in fact the item that scared them out of the tent. I know it's far fetched but it would be interesting and possibly plausible.
6:40 there is actually a 100% chance youll see a dead body on the way to the summit because if you move some of then out of the way, the route isn't possible to do anymore
This shit almost gave me a perk 30 panic attack because I was just thinking something with all these capabilities that exist did this and we don’t know what the fuck it is, just thinking that makes you wanna throw up
Hear me out the area was used for nuclear bomb testing before it happened and a avalanche occurred explaining the radiation plus maybe also the mushroom theory
Honestly I believe the avalanche theory, because rocks also get pushed by the snow, or really hard pieces of ice at terminal velocity could break their bones like that. The only thing I can't explain with it is the lack of eyes in some of the bodies. As for the radiation, sometimes scientists still get hit by radiation while using the "proper" suits, imagine back then. I'm not really sure how long it holds up in clothes but a lot of it could be feasible. Edit: I hadn't seen the end of the video but yeah basically what Joe said
A lot of theories make sense but another theory I came up with is that they all wanted to make the most insolvable mystery and they knew how to do it bc they were very smart so with the help of the guy w back pain they all willingly planned out their own deaths in the way that they did which would be super confusing which is why they changed clothes and shit and they knew that we would come up with all these theories about their deaths and they knew it would be unsolvable. This also explains why their footprints suddenly stopped bc they knew that would be super mysterious
I just googled for the pictures of the body’s and the one where joe said the dude is kinda like his hands are in a weird position when he looked at papa meats patreon I saw that and it’s WEIRD
4:38 I feel like the only areas (I could be wrong) where walking in a random direction and NOT reaching civilization would be like north Canada or Russia
I think that they had the mushrooms, someone did something like start a fire, they all panicked, and ran out of the tent, and then some people got killed by wild animals
i think that the mushrooms and avalanche theory is actually a good theory. they could have eaten the mushrooms beforehand and at night an avalanche started, and they all had freaked out, causing some of them to think they had clothes on or throw random clothes on and run out of the tent. but the radiation i think might have come from one of them, maybe they had it on their clothes and didn't realize it. this is just what i think, it doesn't completely explain the eyes and tongue but nothing about the case makes real sense.
considering the thing the dude said where you get so cold you feel liek youre burning alive, that could explain the swapped clothes. they take em off cause they feel hot, but then realize they need clothes to survive and put on whatevers near them
About the drug theory: There was a case a few years ago of a man on bathsalts brutally mauling a man. I don't recall much detail, but that seems like a plausible substance they might have taken to go mental.
I feel like the only way to explain the radiation is if there was a missile of some sort inside the mountain which was slowly leaking radiation overtime
i mean, if they did somehow take something that made them hallucinate without knowing, this is very well possible. when you're on mushrooms and acid, the emotions of everyone around you affect your trip. if one person saw something and screamed, everyone else would start seeing things too. if it devolved from there, and especially if you arent aware of what you took, that could be enough to warrant that type of reaction. its also said that people have died a lot from hypothermia using acid, because your cold receptors completely stop working, so you cant feel how cold it actually is. would also explain the eyeball and scratches, because of that one story where the woman gauged her own eye because she was on drugs.
Me personally, I take my assumption of the situation from The Haunted Cosmos podcast, which you should listen to for more information about the incident.

I think the thing about there being no tracks could just be because of wind and snow...The tracks could've gotten covered up by snow in gusts of wind
Yes
Definitely
Well no because there were tracks just no more than the groups.
@@dawsonpio2874 other tracks could've gotten covered up though
Testing of a nuclear bomb created a loud noise the freaked out the people. The bomb also created an avalanche, which is why some of them were buried under the snow. The survivors created a snow den, and found some hanging mushrooms which they ate, went mad, and caused the bludgeoning, missing eyes, ripped out tongues, and the pieces of skin in the tree. They could have also encountered wild animals. The mansi mushroom theory seems most likely, but I feel like a combination of these the theories could explain it.
Sometimes if you’re so cold, it’ll give you a sense of warmth and you take your clothes off. I read that online.
Nah your supposed to keep your clothes on because that is your body using all of its remaining energy to try to warm you up as like a last ditch effort
@@Daspankyfish not everyone knows that tho.
@@milestherealalphayou must have missed the “experienced skiers” part
@@chingshady2689 nah im not saying that the group didn't know that
With all of the theories, how were the blunt injuries done, and how were 3 of the bodies 10ft under snow with different/ no clothes on
they probubly dug themselves into the snow a bit, died, and then more snow covered them and thats how they were so deep
There could have been a fire on the inside of the tent which is why some of them had burns and missing clothing, but it doesn’t explain the swapped clothes or skin everywhere
If it was the mansi theory then they would have seen the mushrooms in the autopsy I think
3rd degree burns in negative weather and went insane. Did they embrace the frenzied flame💀

This was the first Joe stream I have seen live, loved it doing great Joe!
mushroom + bear theory combined makes sense when u consider the panicking and the 4 mangled bodies in the den, could’ve stumbled across the bear den trying to seek shelter, but would explain why the others in dif areas didn’t have heavy bodily injury
Ok this is my theory:
Since they all were familiar with radiation themselves. But I honestly can’t think of anything else.
hmm possible but i feel like they wouldn’t have done something stupid like that because they knew something could go wrong (also in general whose gonna bring something that has radiation?) ykwim
maybe. But wouldn’t they have found the source of the radiation? Like a container? Idk
That's is probably the most realistic scenario to happen in that situation

i think its the sound vibration theory and possibly the carbon monoxide.
That would explain the fireball, but how did they all die? And if they were on fire for some reason, it would show in autopsy
they also never mentioned the tent being damaged other then slashes from the inside, and radiation or eyeballs stuff too?!
It maybe was a avalanche
Why would they run? And the other injury's?
The avalanche theory is the best bet. It aligns with everything.
11:34 nah see cause this is the only reason i genuinly believe the yeti is real.
It also doesn’t explain why all of them ran away from their tent.
Are we gonna just ignore the fact that one of them had a picture of a actual fucking yeti
That's exactly what I was thinking. That's definitely not a bear. So, the only way to explain it away is that it's someone in a costume.
Yeah! that was freaky. but it couldnt have been the yeti! it would explain all the disconfigurement of the body's, but it doesnt explain how only the hikers footprints were there. If it was a "yeti" dont you think that the footprints would be deeper and way longer? since this "yeti" would weigh way more than the average person! (not saying you were saying the "yeti" did it, just wanted to put my input!)
esp the fact that was the LAST pic that dude had

@@channelhate1985 Alright thanks! I’ll watch it
It for sure can’t be animals, because on the last four bodies, there were no external injuries and it’s not a good assumption that they split up right away because the footprints led straight to the tree line.

Hypothermia also makes you go manic and crazy in the mind, so that’s probably what happened, but of course id doesn’t make it less freaky, especially knowing what that human brain and body can do to itself.

idea, the scientists had some radioactive items that were small and experimental.
6:40 there is actually a 100% chance youll see a dead body on the way to the summit because if you move some of then out of the way, the route isn't possible to do anymore
if it was an avalanche, they wouldnt have seen the footprints from the camp into the woods. New snow would cover that up. Very interesting indeed

Hear me out the area was used for nuclear bomb testing before it happened and a avalanche occurred explaining the radiation plus maybe also the mushroom theory
Dont take this to seriously
Do the mystery of the kids in the Brazilian wilderness next. They were kids ranged from like 14 to 2 and survived for weeks
This also explains why their footprints suddenly stopped bc they knew that would be super mysterious
ngl it would be impossible to kill themselves like that
No bro
Honestly, you theory explains every aspect of the incident but it is very unlikely that the hikers would want to kill themselves for fame

Joe looks so menacing and yet is the most human person ive ever seen thats crazy shit
As someone who has experienced a not so great shroom trip thinking about that theory is terrifying
