Hi Colby, my name is syaiful from Indonesia. This week, I will start my coding BootCamp. Your experience is so related to me. I hope you keep sharing your experience. Thx Bro.
Congratulations! I hope the position is full of learning opportunity and gives you a great springboard for the future. (I also got a job after a bootcamp--I did Ironhack over last summer--but it took me 4 months to find a position. It's not prestigious, not super-well-paid {I'm making only a couple thousand more than I did as a teacher}, but my work aligns with my values and is giving me invaluable experience to help me grow.)
I agree that your results are not "typical" in a very general sense, but I also got the first job I applied to for WP. It is a typical result for the type of person you are. I would focus on asking a lot of questions, more than you feel comfortable doing. Do not allow yourself to be blocked for long. Focus on eliminating as many blockers as you can. From there, in this economy, plan on sticking at this job for a while. I was in your exact shoes just 6 months ago and I'm on to my second job! The pay gets better quickly. Within a few years you'll be doing just fine. I would also agree that the job pays fine. They are paying you that because they understand that this is a stepping stone for you. You are to provide them value, and in return they pay you a bit, but mostly they are paying you in exposure to a dev team and how that cycle works. Let me know how it goes. Try not to freak out if you feel lost/confused/an imposter and just ask questions.
Congrats!! To be 100% honest, I’ve been subscribed and had felt sorry for you because I assumed you’d have a terrible time given the market. Happy for you!
Well done! I'm aiming to get into part time freelance initially but would also be ok with part time contractor or employee for basically same advantages you mention.
I also got a job after about 3 months of a back end bootcamp and don’t attribute it entirely to the bootcamp itself but my job is also Wordpress dev and working with PHP. I landed it by cold emailing the start up
I went on the website directory of the local small business incubator and emailed every small business/startup that had anything to do with tech!@@edboss36
hey ! im trying to decide between general assembly and byte academy. I haven't been able to connect with anyone from byte to apply... so now im looking at GA since they were so quick to respond. Does GA really help and support you get a job like they claim?
Congrats man! Glad you did a follow-up on this.
I subscribed 5 seconds into the video. Intro = Fire!
I can’t believe you got the first job you applied to! Congrats! Excited to see you grow up and up.
Yeah, some of us have gone through 20 interviews and still no luck - these tech layoffs are not really helping either...

that’s great I’m glad ! I’m going to a coding bootcamp soon! If I can ask, which coding bootcamp you went to?
Get started on reading ACF documentation. Chat GPT could be friendly here to help fix errors.
Congratulations !🎉
Thanks a lot!
I'm sure you're a great programmer too.
Wow, in this market? I have 1 YOE experience as dev and can’t seem to get another job.
God's plan
What is your business??
Congrats man really nice! How’s the compensation ?
I break it down just a few minutes in. Not amazing but a great first opportunity!
