Can the bottom screen/ashfilter plate be put in the upper slot instead of the plate witht he round curtout? I am asking to make sure I could use a smaller homade stove instead. Thanks. I have been onl the fence about this folding model. Also was interested to know if the lack of crossbars on the top of the stove ever was a problem for you, as I did see one off to the side in the video.
Hi ! The bottom screen / ash filter is slightly bigger than the plate with the round cut-out so it will not fit + the actual shape it's not a cube it's bigger at the bottom and gradually it gets smaller ...so top plate is to small to go on the bottom and it will fall through and the ash filter is to big to go on top.... etc and about the crossbars if I put the alcohol stove (it has his own crossbars and they will help) but to answer your question Yes I think it would be more stable with them.
@@johnplatona Thats great thanks, tried aluminium and was not happy with the after taste, bought stanley steel compact set with no problems, Thanks again !
@@johnplatonathat’s an outdated piece of information. I have believed it at some point myself but it is fake. The study thst linked Al to Alzheimer’s and such was never confirmed or replicated. Probably a stunt pulled by competitors. Capitalism basically. Aluminum is fine as long as the source is proper and it is pure. It will corrode and pit with acidic foods over time, but nothing to worry about other than cosmetics. It’s easy to scratch, dent and melt(with wood fires), but those are the only really downsides. It’s lighter than titanium and more heat conductive, cheaper to manufacture and thus price is greatly lower. Hard anodized aluminum is comparable to titanium in many ways - having its strong points with less downsides.
How do you rate the quality of these products? Mainly I mean the quality of the material used, and more precisely whether it is really pure titanium. Do you have a comparison with titanium products, e.g. Evernew, MSR or Snow Peak?
Honestly I am not titanium expert I would say that is good quality and I am happy but I can't compare it with the other titanium products because I have only Lixada brand.. I can tell you that I use them every weekend and I am Happy. I bet there are better ones but I had no problem with them.

Aluminium is toxic, yes it’s ok on rare occasions but not every day .. try to stay away from cooking in aluminium foil or aluminium pots
