Enjoyed the video. I've got a 85 Autocar AT64F that I hauled with for years. Now the truck and I are retired and go to American Truck Historical Society Shows. The mid eighties Autocar's and Western Stars are very rare. At the Reno National two months ago out of 900 trucks there was only two and mine was one of them.
Thank yoi so much. I unfortunately sold the AT64 and the red western star, just to much going on, not enough money, or time, mainly money lol. Hard enough running a 38 year old truck every week, and then trying to fix up a few more. Definitely didn’t have the time money and skill at this time. I’ve admired your truck for quite sometime, we were planning to make Reno and it just didn’t work out this year unfortunately. I hope to see your truck in person sometime.
Gotta say that that right there is one bad ass line up of trucks! I’m a heavy construction truck guy but if I had a road truck line up, that’s it right there. The ‘85 and older western stars are the best with the countersunk headlights into the fenders. And of course, the AT64 Autocars are my favorite. Mine is a heavy haul tractor. Keep them original and hopefully you can run and enjoy them all. Keep them, even if they sit for a bit here and there, it seems like they’re in good hands. Oh, and never swap the twin clubs for a sissy stick. Just turn the old Cat up for more power and then you won’t be shifting as much. That’s the way I’d do it 😂
Love your fleet .....I've always loved the those Western Stars and Autocars....I Love the Petes and the K.W.'s too.....but you just hardly don't see the Western Stars and Autocars...and all original and not hacked is sweet....i'll take original "patina" any day... Thanks for the walk around video Brother and Keep on Truckin'.
Thank you so much, unfortunately I sold the red gold star and the autocar, just no money or time to fix up while running a 38 year old western star as well. I did keep the All star edition and plan to restore that, or at least fix it up a little and run it 1 day. Thank you for the compliments
@@Rareoldtrucks those were some fine old Trucks for sure....i drove a Western Star Cabover sleeper in the late 1970s early 80s over Nevada and up into Utah...it had a 350 Cummins and a 13 speed.....it was very reliable and comfortable....and was the smoothest cabover ive ever driven.... Take care and keep on Truckin' Brother......
What an amazing lineup of trucks! Would love a super long driving video on the 86 Autocar if it runs, especially with straight pipes on! Please let me know ASAP.
No wonder I can’t find a 80 to 85 western star you have them all. I’m looking for mine but so hard to find an old truck this many years later. If you decide to sell one look me up
I own a 93 W/S. It was the 92 Truxpo truck . I'm slowly restoring the ole girl. Will never get rid of it. Some of the W/S only parts are getting a bit difficult to get so if anyone knows where to aquire any of these parts please comment on my post here .
@@johnhaley6382 yes. According to my research it was. It was ordered at Gunther’s in Peabody. I have the original build sheet and title. I tried to contact Carl and his daughter said he passed and she didn’t have any pictures or info on the truck. Did you know this truck?
@@Rareoldtrucks I know the truck very well, so I have no pictures. Barry drove the truck, his dad owned it, it was plated out of New Hampshire. I could tell you some stories about that truck
@@johnhaley6382I’d love to hear them, that’s awesome. It was a fun truck, I owned it twice. Unfortunately just sold it again a few months ago. I am running an old LTL 9000 now. Thank you for watching and commenting
@Rareoldtrucks I remember the 1st load that truck ran. A load from Braintree MA to Niagara falls. I bought two western stars from Kenworth of Peabody, still have one, a 93 with a 6x4 over on both boxes, with a double eagle bunk
@@johnhaley6382 wow, I’d love to see that. Sounds really cool. What did they usually haul with the 1985 western star? Was it leased to clean harbors? Someone had told me that. Thank you for sharing
I actually put the 13 in for now and will have the spicers rebuilt, my 4 speed went out on me a few weeks ago, good friend helped me swap the 13 in for now.
I love those western stars. They’re awesome trucks.
Man, you got a good collection of antiques there. Awesome bring them all back to life.👍👍👍
I drove an 83 & 85 A cars back in the day! Loved them!
Awesome old iron. Something about those old stars, one of my favorite models of truck ever.

I'm drooling over the gold star. I certainly hope you call me if you do decide to sell it. You know it will stand tall again in my stable.
Very nice collection. They certainly don't make them like this anymore
Thank you, they truly don’t.
