1989 White/GMC WIL 64T with 3406B cat walk around and little drive
มุมมอง 5K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
I picked this 1989 White/GMC WIL up a couple months ago. I saw it and right away knew I wanted it when I saw it had a 3406B and a 15 speed. Of course I jumped the gun, I don’t have much extra funds or time right now to really make it into what I want. These trucks have always intrigued me though. In my opinion they were way ahead of there time in driver comfort and ride. The integral sleeper wi...

1980 Freightliner FLC with 475 8v92 and Interview Mr. Glen Earl
มุมมอง 1.8K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I pulled into Kenly 95 on my way north and saw this beautiful 1980 FLC. It is powered by a 8v92 Detroit 475hp. I have crossed this truck a few times, never standing still though. After a quick bite to eat and washing up I came out and Luckily Mr.Earl was checking the straps on his load. We talked for almost 20 mins id say before I thought to interview him. He has been trucking for 40 year...
1986 LTL 9000 update
มุมมอง 3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Some footage of the 1986 LTL 9000. I was working on it in between trucking and family time, and battling the elements working outside. It is far from done and far from perfect, so please don’t look to close when you see it in person. Definitely a pleasure to drive, and I’m glad I have it on the road. Thank you for watching.

1986 Ford LTL 9000 walk around and Ride along
มุมมอง 49Kปีที่แล้ว
Here I will introduce a 1986 Ford LTL 9000. This truck has a 400 3406B, 15 speed transmission and 3.73 rockwells, with Neway air ride. This is 1 of the nicest trucks I have ever driven in my 18 years or so I’ve driving all different trucks.

Decided to make a little video of the trucks I own. Not sure when I will ever get to them. All I know is a truly love these old trucks. I’ve considered selling a couple and it never works out. Sometimes I wonder if I’m meant to be with them. I’ve ran all different trucks the western stars are my favorite. My dad had a 1985 Western star all star edition, and that’s where my love of them came fro...

Passed you on i81 a couple of weeks ago truck looked great!
I would move those tanks back under the sleeper put a set of KW steps under the doors it would change that entire truck!!
Really nice looking truck that's when they made real trucks
As a 70s child Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, Dodge all made semi trucks popular with farmers. We drove Mopar cars, pickups, and owned Dodge semi trucks, all purchased from the same dealership. Same with Ford, Chevy, Gmc Customers.
I've always been partial to these trucks, would love to find one myself.
I love your videos so much. Could you make a few cold starts in some old trucks with this view? I’d love to see what you do with the throttle during cold starts
@@gearhead9943 thank you. In a cold start I have never done anything with the throttle at all. Some guys like to hit it 1 time and then fire it off. I like to start it and let it run and after a bit I will bump the idle up to about 1000 rpm with the hand throttle and let the engine warm up.
Cool truck
@@DrummerDanny76 thank you
Great guy and a cool old FLC , we meet up hauling steel on Petersburg VA,, definitely a proud American trucker.
@@LittleBlueFLD you aren’t kidding, wish I started recording when we first started talking. Could have spoke with him for hours. Thank you for watching
Big ole sumbitch isn't in bad shape for a truck that's getting up in age! Cat Power 💪🏼🐯
nice looking truck! the ones our company had where single exhaust white colored ones 10 speeds small detroits
back in late 70s our company had 2 of them.i was used to cabovers cummins ones.they gave me the ford cause my transtra2 needed maintencience.i was shocked at how much better the fords where in comfort ride.hated the small detroits they had in them gutless.later on i got the pete 352 with air ride but that ford was still a winner on ride quality
You interested in selling this truck. I had one 20 years ago and thought about getting one again. Let me know
@@spjr4840 Ive had a lot of interest in it, not sure what I’m doing with it though. Appreciate you watching, thank you.
@Rareoldtrucks ok, we'll if and when you decide let me know. If by then i haven't already found another truck I'll come down and look at it. Thanks for replying beck
Bye any chance was that western star from Peabody mass own new by Barry or Carl overlock?
@@johnhaley6382 yes. According to my research it was. It was ordered at Gunther’s in Peabody. I have the original build sheet and title. I tried to contact Carl and his daughter said he passed and she didn’t have any pictures or info on the truck. Did you know this truck?
@@Rareoldtrucks I know the truck very well, so I have no pictures. Barry drove the truck, his dad owned it, it was plated out of New Hampshire. I could tell you some stories about that truck
@@johnhaley6382I’d love to hear them, that’s awesome. It was a fun truck, I owned it twice. Unfortunately just sold it again a few months ago. I am running an old LTL 9000 now. Thank you for watching and commenting
@Rareoldtrucks I remember the 1st load that truck ran. A load from Braintree MA to Niagara falls. I bought two western stars from Kenworth of Peabody, still have one, a 93 with a 6x4 over on both boxes, with a double eagle bunk
@@johnhaley6382 wow, I’d love to see that. Sounds really cool. What did they usually haul with the 1985 western star? Was it leased to clean harbors? Someone had told me that. Thank you for sharing
My dad drove a 93 just like that, that was a time warp to see that. The dash on his was flatter then then that, the company had a '90 that was like that dash, they must have changed after that. His had a DD 60 series and 13 speed. The '90 was same running gear as the video truck, 425 Cat and 15 spd
@@MachinistMike that is really cool, thank you for watching. Glad it could bring back some memories for you. Interesting to know if the dash change over the years.
My dad drove a truck for Tyson’s foods live haul department hauling hogs for many many years and I remember when these came out Tyson’s bought one and let my dad drive it to see if they were worth switching to , I loved riding in that truck , even as a kid I could tell how much better it was than the other trucks they had up there , he kept that truck spotless and I can still remember the ride quality, the smell the sound everything about it , they’re awesome trucks and my favorite to this day… I don’t drive I just admire lol but they are awesome
I purchased a new LTL9000 in 1987 , 400 Cummins 13 speed . Pulled B train flat deck for Point to Point all over western Canada , and North west states. Great truck !
Good truck
Old school cool.
Beautiful looking truck my friend. I like that Ford 9000LTL .I am a Ford F150 2008 pickup.
@@jamesking1862 thank you, appreciate you checking out the video and truck
Thanks for sharing this cool old truck! I always liked these; I agree with the earlier comment about the Road Boss 2 also. Not only a trend setter, but it takes me back to the days when almost any truck manufacturer would offer almost any engine. Like the irony of Fords with Detroit Diesel 2-strokes. Hope you update us once you start working on it.
@@michaelwheatley3873 truly appreciate you watching. Not sure if I’m going to hang on to this long term and invest some money into it and run it just yet, if I do I will definitely share the progress. Thank you for checking it out, glad people enjoy seeing this old stuff
Love your truck ❤
Drove an old 1981 western star 40 years ago , with a 350 Cummins , the most beautiful truck I’ve ever driven , quiet , good ride , dependable ,
A very cool find
You have a good looking truck, need to hang on to it, they don't make trucks that solid anymore
Nice old truck ! I drove one like that many years ago ! 425 CAT what a power house !
That truck's got more room than most today
Outstanding Looking Unit. Well Done. Another Great Video. Keep up the Great Work 🇺🇲 🏆💯
The interior is definitely nice for a 89 White
That’s a beautiful rig!! 💯👌🏽
@@GeorgeADowns thank you so much. Appreciate you watching .
I passed you when you were coming back from Earl R Martin (I live around the corner from their shop) - instantly recognized the truck! One of my favorite LTL's out there!
@@MichaelTJD60 thank you, truly appreciate that. Thank you for watching
Is your name Pat
@@2-Steppin Patrick, yes people call me Pat though.
Sharp Truck‼️ I have always liked the style of this truck manufacturer! Sleek and stylish!
Looks like main and brownie are swapped. That main box is odd too it’s looks like it doesn’t have the brownie H to it. High gear looks like it’s not where it’s supposed to be. Against the dash c’mon! Cool vid. That old Cat brings back childhood memories. Thank you!!
@@79_Trucker the main was a 5 direct. In the western stars, autocars, and Mack’s the auxiliary was closest to the drivers seat and main was the stick over, from my experience and seeing different trucks with spicers. Thank you for watching
As cool as the other side of the pillow
Nice ride and they really last if maintained
Always liked the looks of those LTL 9000's. My favorite trans as far as smooth shifting is that 15 speed. Nice truck. I watched your first video when you got it, and wondered how those bushings in that Newway suspension were holding up. Owned a few Mack's with Newway in them, so I get it.
Dig yer channel drivvah. I really find ya refreshing and down to earth. I am a 52 yr old truck freak in California and always thought that Nor Cal log and lumber guys built the coolest rides. VERY COOL seeing a channel that loves some of the less popular Iron and shares why they are cool too! B model power, set o boxes... YOU. My man have it! Hope life's taking good care of ya and thanks for running what we cannot even see anymore in my state! Cheers from a carpenter in Santa Cruz Ca! Make my day seeing vids like these!
@@Jdigger4130 wow, thank you so much for the kind comment man. Glad you enjoy the channel. There was so many beautiful old trucks in CA. Appreciate you watching and hope to be able to make some more videos that are enjoyable.
Ol truck, it's a looker..😊
Better keep that one. Dont every sell it.
GOOD OL WORK TRUCK 😊
This design came from the earlier White Road Boss 2, which was basically the birth of the integral sleeper
@@markfierke8565 sure did, and the white road boss 2 was a very cool truck as well. Thank you for watching
I had a friend that had one just like that one in the early nineties that someone stoled and you never found it good looking trucks

@@jackschwink really appreciate it. This was just a dream to me 1 day as well. Grateful to be living it now. Thank you for watching
I bet the Volvo will outrun the Kenworth and get better fuel mileage doing it.
It sounds really good a great find for sure🎉🎉
It is similar in shape to the truck Sylvester Stallone won in Over The Top.
@@kevinmarsh8592 sure is, it is the same model truck ( hood and integral sleeper) only difference is that it was the ITS (Integral tall sleeper) if I’m not mistaken, plus the added on double eagle. That was super cool truck and 1 of my favorite movies. There’s also a nice 1 when they are on the balcony of the hotel and Mr cutler tried to give it to him and a $500,000 check. Thank you for watching
You got this one up for sale or no????
The 362 is cool but its the 352 that does it for me
