China government provide training classes for Locals in xinjing, and introducing jobs for them. Western media says: It is force labor. Because those people who donot have jobs, no money, they will create chaos in this regions. CPC provides free trainning, free accomodations and free food for every thing, then give them jobs. When those poor people have jobs, have money, then they will become more peaceful. For China CPC, if you want to get promotion, you must go very poor area to live with poor people in Xinjiang, it is called " one help one policy" You must have solution to imporve their living standard for the poor people. After one or 2 years at least, those poor people give you feedback. You never get promotion if you cannot finish the task.

Twenty years ago, terrorists attacked Urumqi. They tried to split Xinjiang. A lot of people died that year. Many people were studying, working, or even playing games in Internet cafes. Suddenly, thugs rushed in and started killing people indiscriminately. Then China strengthened the security management in Xinjiang, so you will encounter a lot of security checks to prevent people from bringing weapons to densely populated areas. There are more police cars than in other places. But over the years, everything has returned to calm. There have been no more terrorist attacks. On the contrary, the local economy has made great progress. The police arrested many terrorists, but many of them were supported by the West. They fled to the West, and then the West began to slander China for committing genocide. They have been slandering China for many years. Many Han people died in that massacre, and many Uyghurs in Urumqi also sacrificed their lives to protect their Han compatriots.

That's right. Every Han Chinese student has to learn English, while ethnic minorities have their own schools where they learn their own language as well as Chinese. Of course minorities are also free to choose to attend Han schools. What's wrong with this as a basic education, after all, learning the official language as a citizen of a country helps all ethnic groups to communicate and learn from each other, and promotes social stability.

In 2009 there was rioting and many people were stabbed to death. Now there seems to be peace and prosperity - the prosperity created by government stimulus and reforms allowed there to be peace. The US keeps saying there is genocide, but Xinjiang does not look anything like Gaza! Whatever the government did it seems to have worked, maybe Israel and the US should learn from China.

I'm kind of surprised I've heard more english out of locals in your xinjiang videos than elsewhere in china 😅. if jewelry shops opened at 11pm in any major city in the usa, they wouldn't be in business the next day lol.
from what I heard in other vlogs, the mosques are only open for prayers. I've seen some pakistan vloggers attend prayer in various mosques in china including xinjiang. I believe this policy was in response to the extremist activity before, and were determined to be organized in some some mosques.
in case you didn't know, this is why facebook is banned in china, because attacks were organized on facebook and the company didn't want to hand over account information when the chinese government requested it. about this time is when china got very strict on internet and companies that didn't want to follow guidelines weren't allowed to operate. google and hence youtube had a choice but decided on principle to leave china because they didn't want any filters on their platforms. other companies like apple and microsoft(bing search) work fine without vpn since they follow the filter guidelines which mostly target adult content, violence, and what 'destabilizing' activities so make of that what you will. people can protest to the extent it doesn't cause a public disturbance. people have freedom of religion, but they can't impose their beliefs on others so preaching in public is not allowed. this might surprise you but there are close to 100 million christians in china. just don't be a public menace and you're fine.

Google, which was operating in China actually, said no can't do cos US needs these data, and Facebook said no can't cos US needs these data too. So Google pulled out of China and Facebook just didn't bother! And since these companies can't comply with the Chinese user data law China blocks traffic to their sites.

I do not know if the prophet did mention China, the closest line is to seek knowledge even "in the depth of the Sea", still China popular image among the muslim as they are aware of Chinese product and trade, yet most have never seen China allow for imagination of what life is like in China.

Yes, you should visit the rural areas in Xinjiang, might be even a bigger surprise for Westerners.
CPC promote urbanisation in Xinjiang, so local government build each family an apartment in towns and cities, for FREE. And there will be schools and hospitals and public service.
You can rent out your new apartment in town, or for your own stay, and everyone can keep your old houses in the hills and country side if they want to.
The best way to counter "Religious Extremists" in China is to build the infrastructure and make them RICH. Simple.

I’m having a great time following each of your China videos. Thank you for showing me what I can look forward to when I travel to China. - not just the normal visits to Beijing or Guangzhou. Watching your adventures show me that I can do this too 😍

I went there about 15 years ago. My brother and I ordered some kind of beef plate, we were served a whole leg! It took us more than 2 hours trying to eat that thing! It was delicious. Back then, the whole leg was 15 Yuan, about $2.

Urumqi is a representation of Xinjiang but if you want to experience uighur culture go to thier area in southern Xinjiang like Kashgar, if you want to experience Kazakh go North to altai, mongol culture is based in the North too as that area was Dzungaria
