I'm Hungarian, watching from Sweden. Russia seems fantastic. People are friendly, everything is clean and safe. I love that Russians hold to traditional Christian values.
With some help from Hungaria that keeps some of other values at bay at their end, dare I say. Of course they do it for their own wellbeing in mind, not ours, but it's still nice and deserves gratitude.

I'm Russian living in Italy, you're absolutely right about assuming the opposite.
Imagine that moving here i was despising ore government.
But living through the wartime here I learnt that they LITERALLY take Black and call it white and vice Versa.
I heard it with my own ears (a translation of one interview from a Mariupol survivor woman, where they didn't bother to remove the original audio which was in Russian and I could understand what she was saying). Translation was the opposite... that was the lady drop for me, because I had started out following the Italian media, even though I knew perfectly well about the gen...cide in Donbass, that was actually one of the reasons I despised our government.
I then assumed that the media did exactly the same to the public with the p..ndemic that we'd had. No more trust.
Russian media speak much more truth (the propagandathere consists in not revealing all the information, rather than twisting the facts or inventing lies), and all the complot theories turned out to be true...
I now follow some good youtubers (a few of them are Ukranians)
Golden rule: don’t trust anyone, double-check everything if you don’t want to be manipulated. Yes, it’s not easy, it’s additional brain work. But this way there is a chance to feel like a HUMAN and not a controlled animal

My neighbor here in Texas has a Belarus tractor. I've used it and it is a good tractor. The same Russian mentality as the AK-47. Drop it in the water and it still fires, whereas an American made rifle gets the least bit dirty, wet, etc and it becomes useless. In America people have forgotten the principles of FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION and KISS (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID)!

I live in Ontario, Canada. Years ago, I was chatting with the wife of our apartment building's superintendent. They were recent immigrants from Bulgaria. She was asking what people do here. She wondered where the museums, theatres and other cultural attractions were. She said they were an important part of life in Bulgaria and she was missing that here. She didn't understand how we live without it and just work, work, work.
No surprise why people are so ignorant.

Но с этой бесовской всемирной сетью это уже не возможно...
I moved from Russia to a town in northern Italy. Boy, did I suffer without cultural events that we had in Russia. Only in my city we had 6 big theaters maintained by the government. There were also private ones but we don't have much of a habit.
When I go there to visit for 3 weeks (new years holidays), we try to go to the theatre 2-3 times. This time I went theaters were packed full!! It was so hard to get a ticket, even outside the holiday season they were full.
I really miss the cultural life in Russia... in Italy they don't have this

There are many components to Quality of Life that do not depend on income.
A person who makes $1500 a month in a large city in Russia can have a life better, more secure, and lower stress than back in my native California who has a gross income of $12,000 because there are few things that are requiring monthly payments. A typical Russian in a city owns their home, have no medical expenses, no college debt, no need for a car, total inter net cost $5
Utilities $50-75, food...depends on type but figure on 1/2 to 1/4 the cost in the US.
And the Russians would have access to safe beautiful parks, in my city 237 drama theaters. NYC has theaters but tickets are $150-200 each. The kids all get in free for world class opera, ballet and symphonies, $20-30 for adults and MUCH hire quality than in the US where 99% could never attennt. The last time in NYC my GF wanted to see an opera we both liked that was staged at the MET a top US theater but much lower than standards in large Russian city......an opera we have seen for $20 each but we had to pay $1600!!!! in New York. We go to great museums often, which are very rare in the US, but in my adopted Russian city there are 475 museums, some the best in the world. Because I have such an active social and cultural life, I am out in the city every day/night. zero risk, cheap transportation including the great Metro subways system, buses, trams, trolleys low cost ride share, cheap taxi but even at 4am, walking through any of the600 parks or neighborhoods is perfectly safe. I can take a train to the forests and beaches outside the city for $0.80. Every child here has unmatched access to nature, culture, recreation activities centers and creativity centers in palaces only for children. All., free
Typically no one watches tv even kids because there are so man real life activities.
So the $1500 vs $12,000 is not really fair because there are so few activities and even fewer that are safe, in any US city. Other than shopping, fast food, and possibly an amusement park, there is so little for kids to do in the US except TV or computer. It would be impossible to duplicate the variety of activities that are available here , in any city of the US. Plus many or most city families own a rural cabin and property in the forest or countryside, called a Dacha, where kids often spend the summer learning gardening and nature with grandmother

We're in Canada. Our toaster is about 75 years old and was made in Canada. We had the same toaster when I was growing up in the 1960's and 70's. It makes the best toast and I will never part with it 😄

Нельзя перевести слово Богатырь ни на какой другой язык. Особенно на английский. Оно сразу теряет свой смысл. По этому при переводе на другой язык лучше использовать другое слово, близкое по значению. Например силач или боец, или англоязычный синоним этого слова супермен.

Growing up in South Dakota, we referred to those tractors as "kid tractors." I guess because they were smaller, and we kids were allowed to use them! So happy for you all, but honestly, I'm especially happy for your kids. I know what it's like to be bounced around, and the look of joy on their faces over that tractor was infectious!

In Canada it is also illegal to hold a phone while driving. It is supposed to be hands free. There is also a distracted driver law here which says activities such as rushing teeth combing hair writing, texting on a phone, and so on are distracted driving. Accidents happen because of distracted driving. But that is Russia, not Canada and they say "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do."

A few weeks ago, I celebrated my 2 year anniversary since I moved to Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East. I also started a TH-cam channel and named it, "Canadian Living in Russia". I am not a farmer like you, however I did purchase a dacha and love to work out there. Perhaps we can have a ZOOM chat sometime and talk about our experiences (from the Canadian perspective) since we moved to Russia.

Things were extremely rough back in the 90's when the CIA's plan to destroy our homeland succeded.
There was anarchy, criminality and hunger all around.
I was born just before the fall of the USSR.
I moved to Western Europe 5 years ago. Loved 1 year in the US as well.
Europe and the USA are now decades behind Russia, in terms of private and public services and cultural life. Healthcare where I live now is extremely poor. Here people have to wait for few surgeries or some tests for months.
I went to Russia and did all my tests FOR FREE, including some very narrow ones, like post-covid checkup and thyroid hormones, echography(?), ultrasounds etc within a 2- week span!
Everything is electronic and in 5 years there have been so many changes that it made me feel old and behind 😮 in my own country! Everything's online, you call the Hotline if you think the doctor was not nice to you or not competent enough or whatever. The system works like a Swiss clock.
There's still a lot of place for improvement but the progress over the past 20 years is unimaginable!
I hated our government before but in the post few years i realised that we're only alive thanks to them! I also realised only this year, at the age of 36 that we were zombified in school to hate ourselves as a nation and to think that Everything's do much worse than everywhere else.
It's crazy how it works! Your can fool an entire nation!
I could go on and on but there's too much that could be said..
Don't listen to the 90's immigrants, they're stuck in the past and have no idea if how life changed

Try to reach out for John Kopiski's family farm, it's between you and Moscow. They're firmly established with a whole side business of eco/farming tourism running smoothly, surely that'd be a valuable input.
By firmly established I mean several thousand cows and a cheese making facility, not to mention a lot of other things. Kopiski Sr. may not be my type of person, but I respect him a lot. He's been in the business for over a decade, his experience in setting up a dairy farm and receiving aid from authorities is invaluable.

И, вообще, в России вполне нормально и доступно иметь за городом дачу на участке 1000 м^2 (10 соток)

We zijn in Rusland e.a. Oostblok landen geweest om assistentie te verlenen aan bakkerijen.
