I had it easy, after work I drove 2km down to the beach where the city aquarium was, pulled into the back service area parking lot where they had taps for marine hobbyist. The taps delivered seawater that was pumped in from way offshore and filtered through their industrial filters and delivered at a higher than normal pressure so you had to be careful with that hose :) Filling up my 6x25litre bottles was a breeze and it was all for free..

We sell seawater on tap but I’ve always wanted to have it outside like that!

@@GalleryAquaticaTV Yeah it's cool, I just reversed my car in right up to the taps, filled up and off you went. Nice not to carry those heavy 25l containers around. Was like a seawater drive-thru 😂

I collect in the south of England in Devon, you can collect upto 20,000 gallons at a time might be litres cant find the info at the moment, but been doing it for nearly 3 years now. I do get asked what I'm doing alot or just get weird looks.
Just make sure you collect on an incoming high tide, not after heavy rain due to run off into rivers from farmland. Also dont go when its rough, you will get wet!

My LPS corals have began to peel back from their skeletons but my softies are fine. I was recently told that the water I use could have low strontium and that is probably why my LPS corals are upset. Hi mate, I usually focus on improving biological filtration. Adding more media to your filter will often help over time, but as a quick fix I often do blackouts, but you need to be careful doing this as it isn’t good for corals. Sometimes the light schedule can be the problem, so if you’re not sure maybe try shortening the photo-period and decreasing the red/white/green out of the spectrum (if you can). Cam

Also, what Cam meant to say is that he tests the water he has collected with hobby grade test kits, just like yours!😀 ICP testing of the collection site is of little value or reassurance of water quallity, as ocean contaminates are litterally in a fluid environment.

Imagine there's a red algae bloom and not knowing. Giving everybody cyano bacteria in their tanks and they have to pay you to help remove the red slime bacteria. It's a win win for the business.

He is a Marine Biologist he knows what he doin. They use it for their shop and clients, and said they test the water. Cyano doesn’t become a problem bloom unless you have underlying issues any how.
