How to replace a bathroom shut off valve

In this video we show you the difference between a multi-turn and a quarter turn angle stop (shut off valve). It is common in most older homes to have a multi-turn angle stop under the sink. These tend to cause problems for homeowners because they will “freeze” open or sometimes closed. They also tend to be a source of many leaks that cause major damage to vanities or cabinets in the kitchen.

Is it possible to do it without cutting the pipe. I need to replace mine, but I looks too short to cut.

It depends. The original plan was to not cut the pipe, but unfortunately the brass ring crimped the pipe and caused some flaring so it wouldn’t come off. Have a compact pipe cutter handy just incase you need to cut it, so you can cut as close to the nut as possible.
