I imagine that in an environment where hypersonic micrometeorites would be a threat, they'd probably build these spacecraft to at the very least be able to withstand a low powered pistol cartridge like a .45 ACP.
@@Matisaro We can infer the beeping at 0:26 is him putting in the target lock. Since at no point does he put in a new target before he launches the missiles, that would mean the initial target lock he put in was for the Sea Dragon from the start
@@hfar_in_the_sky unless he has fire control by his stick which is totally possible since her station needs to control turning everything on etc while his can control only target selection. The reason I think this is a stupid idea is he risked getting shot in the head which would have led to the war. The idea he was covering for his crew makes no sense since you can visually see him deciding AFTER the other crewman said there had to be another way and he did not retarget after that. The mix of the illogical lie, the taunts to shoot him and the visible eye movements indicating thinking/realization when the guy made the statement lead me to believe he retargeted as he fired.
I think Ed planned to shoot sea dragon in the first place but if he didn’t Then if it wasn’t for her they would have shot buran and ruin all the work the Apollo-Soyuz handshake did
I understand that this is a pretty intense scene the one of the guns, but uhh, wouldn't a miss shot (which would happen) just redirect it into a window, break, deprezurise, and everyone die? cool but kind of unrealistic, also, why guns at first?
"Jesus you both know we're in a pressurized spacecraft right?"
100% would be me in that situation.

I wish this show was on a more popular platform, it’s so good
absolutely!
He locked onto the sea dragon before she pulled the gun. He was giving his crew deniability for the destruction of sea dragon.
I never noticed that! Thanks for pointing that out!
how did you tell this?

God I love this scene. Even the music is so intense
Do you know the songs name? I’ve searched the entire soundtrack and still can’t find it
@@kainebower9840 "Landing" by Jeff Russo
What should we make sure our astronauts have? All of them? Their own handgun? Awesome!
Holy crap, man -- Mexican standoff with Sally Ride! :O
It would have been had the ginger kid pulled a gun too.
I missed the air when I saw the buran in action, even if briefly
Even though it worked out for the best, Sally shouldn't have been on that mission.

So the rocket was carrying heavy payloads and nuclear weapons to the Jamestown huh
No it wasn't, but the Russian thought it was.
All you wanna do is ride around Sally, come on (ride, Sally, ride)
........INCRÍVEL.........ESPETACULAR.........
:)
What's the soundtrack in this scene? I especially like the first 30 seconds.
OMG another FAM fan! Did you find the ost yet? I'm searching for it too, scoured the Season 2 OST but couldn't find it....
@@explorer_1113 It’s called ”Landing” by Jeff Russo. It’s in the Season 1 album. This track, or versions of it also plays in season 3 and 4.

It's "Landing" from the season 1 ost. It's the same track that plays for the landing of Apollo 15.

What was the Sea Dragon Rocket carrying that was so important?
Something that can create nuclear weapons
Plutonium, a radioactive element used in the Nagasaki nuclear bomb.
That was the previous sea dragon launch
@@stevemc01 Nagasaki, actually. The Hiroshima bomb used uranium.
@@Rubycon99 ah my mistake. I forgot which was which.
Yeah, U was in a bullet-assembly and Pu was in an implosion assembly.

Wait, so was the sea dragon manned?
No
Gee whiz, this series turned so stupid.,
