The most oft repeated phrase in a Beckta tutorial: "Now that I'm looking at it, that might be little too much". Love your tuts Craig!

I like the brightness. The whites need lightening, too. And, often there is a blue cast to eyes that needs correcting.

so you have to make a new layer for each healing area? Is there no more efficient workflow for this? That seems like an unnecessarily complicated workflow. Create a layer, sample her forehead and get lower part of hair. Create a new layer, sample further up her forehand and get the next part of her hair. Create a new layer and sample her cheek to get the spot there. Create a new layer to....

@Craig: I saw you selecting a different sampling point and adjusting all parameters (H,S &L) again, let me say that based in experience I think all you affect when you change that reference point is the base line for the "uniformity" controls and the area you define as skin color in the circle which will be affected by all the controls.
I don't know if I make myself clear.
    Nice tutorial!

great intro video, pretty much the same process I do. You are correct about the clone/heal, LR does a better job so this would be nice to improve in upgraded versions

Yes, it is easier to do some things in Photoshop but you can't beat the raw processing or some of the other features... In Capture One.

And how do you keep your menu options open? Mine close, when I open a new tool.

What are your reasons for choosing to use Photoshop to retouch over Capture One Pro besides familiarity?

    • @CraigBeckta
      @CraigBeckta  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Some things like skin Retouching are easier for me in Photoshop.

i think you can get better results in ps in the same amount of time, loosing this much time just to fix skintone.. idk this is way too long imho

Hi! when I finisched a photo in capture one I save it in tif format in a file. Then when I open the photo in photoshop the photo opens in camera raw and not directly in photoshop and I lose the original colors and contrasts of capture one. Do you know how I can do?

Check your Photoshop settings or try a PSD file. If that doesn't work contact support for Capture One or Photoshop support.

Hi Graig, could you make a Tutorial for baby beginner? Well, I never use any editing software before, so I would much appreciate if you can something so I can get started. I bought Capture One Pro 11, usually I'm self-taught guy, so I taught I could learn on my own, well, it turns out Capture One is a bigger challenge then I expected and I Need Help. I'm having hard time even to open an image, and there's a kind a green paint on top of my image when I open, I don't know if it's to show highlights or so, but it's really annoying and I can't find a way to remove it, this is just an example of my troubles :).
    Thanks.

Sure, turn of ( Focus Mask ) and the green will go away... It's used to show the in focus areas of your image. Capture One has some good tutorials as well.

Awesome Graig, thank you for the really fast answer!!
About Capture One tutorials, they are not nearly as good as yours, and that's the reason I asked you instead of ask them :) and I mean it. Not everyone knows how to teach, it's a gift and your videos are really well explanatory. If I have a good start up, I can come back to this video and learn it all to edit portraits, which is one of the main thing I want to do with.
Thanks and have a great day.
