    Great video. I flew into the Ocala airport back in the 1980's. Back then, USAir was the only airline there. Enjoyed driving around seeing all the horse farms.

      Thank you! Ocala has changed a bit since the 1980s, but the horse farms still make for a scenic drive. Did you have any favorite spots or memories from your visit?

    Ormand Beach is an Hour and 20 minutes from City of Ocala. Take state road 40 all the way to A1A. Gainesville Regional Airport is awesome and it is a 55 minute drive.

      Thank you so much for watching! Definitely, I’ll talk more about taxes next time.Every county has a property tax calculator; it’s a great way to get an idea of what you can expect to pay in taxes.

    SlowCala where it takes 1-2 hours to get to Orlando, Tampa or Daytona Beach. And I'm telling you folks, you will definitely need a car to get to places. Don't rely on Uber/Lyft or a bus.

    Emely, it was my original plan to move to the Leesburg-Ocala area when I retired. I came to the harsh reality about a year ago that retiring to Florida (even in that area) was going to be unaffordable in my retirement years, as it would have been too stressful to make my retirement dollars stretch (as I'm not part of the seven plus figure club that can afford to retire to Florida). At first I was very angry, bitter, and resentful. Now I'm looking at two other sun belt states that offer very generous tax exemptions to retirees, but the areas of the states I'm looking at also have a much lower cost of living. My current sorry excuse of a state, with the exception of not taxing social security, offers nothing in the way of tax breaks to retirees (not to mention we have brutally cold winters).

      It's understandable that affordability plays a significant role in retirement plans. Exploring other sun belt states with generous tax exemptions and a lower cost of living sounds like a practical approach. Have you identified specific areas in those states that caught your interest?

    You never mention the property tax in city of ocala. Could you?

    • @realtorgonzalez
      @realtorgonzalez  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The average property tax rate in Ocala is 1.26% .Property taxes are based on the assessed value of the property, which is typically lower than the market value. You also get homestead if it’s your primary residence.

    • @realtorgonzalez

      Great question! Ocala has some great healthcare facilities. They are working on expanding since there’s an influx of people moving there. The HCA Florida Ocala hospital is highly rated for cardiac care!
