I was sold on Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake but after A Thief's End it was cemented. His short fan-film is 100 times more Uncharted than the official Uncharted movie. Bro even did the Nathan Drake melee combo in it.
I’m sure there are lots of comments about this but I love pointing it out. The fact we finally get to see the Panamanian jail at the beginning of this game that Nate references to Elena in the first one is just hilarious. I didn’t realize until the opening credits that the jail time took place before the first game in my first play through!

Always loved how in the prison escape sequence, they highlight how much Sam truly cares for Nathan. Always having him go before himself when getting shot at, climbing up ladders, jumping back down instead of leaving Nathan to fight the guards. Completely contrasts Rafe pushing them out of the way to run ahead
Just to clarify this: it WAS Sam on the boat at the beginning of the game, and yes, he voices Joel as well. His work in this game is absolutely incredible! Jameson, for who Nate works as a diver, is voiced by the same voice actor as Henry from the Last of Us, and Nolan North played David, in case you didn't know yet! So much talent in this masterful game...
the Rafe and Sam prison scene takes place before the events of Uncharted 1, and then Nathan's salvage job scene takes place after Uncharted 3, in present day basically. in between, there's the "proper intro" that shows you all of the events from the 3 games, basically showing what happened in between the prison scene and nate's current life. the 15 year time gap covers the first 3 games. it's like a recap of the 3 adventures that nate went on after sam died in the prison, to make you fricking cry over the memories of El dorado, Shambhala and Ubar, and then you finally start the 4th and final adventure, the grand finale and the most intense one yet. i LOVE this series man. keep going, so excited for you to progress through this masterpiece. you're about to cry a lot of times lol
AHHHH it's finally happening!! This game's opening is unforgettable. Just seeing how amazing the graphics are and how far Naughty Dog had come with making games. This game is going to blow you away at nearly every turn like it did for me! I love that Nathan being in Panama at the beginning is a callback to something he said to Elena in the opening of the first game. Lots of set up in this one but it's honestly all amazing
This is when naughty dog cemented their reputation as the top game developer in my eyes. The graphics were amazing, story was amazing, I couldn’t fault the game. Between this and the last of us, they set the bar for PlayStation story games in my opinion. With rock star being a close second
The intro still gives me chills to this day. I (stupidly) played this game first before playing the first 3 games cause I bought it on release back in 2016. Even without playing those games, i still absolutely fell in love with the story and characters and i eventually went back and played the first 3 though thankfully playing the first 3 after 4 didnt affect my enjoyment of them. What a masterpiece.
Same. A Thief's End came with my PS4 so i gave it a try without ever having heard of the other games. I was so in love, couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Playstation

i love the realism part in this one. personally not being a fan of much sci fi or fantasy, i have a hard time finding video games these days that have realistic cinematic action and not robots and machines all around. you can realise how much i loved Uncharted 4.

A lot of familiar voices in this game to look out for, Sam of course is voiced by Troy Baker yes Joel, young Sam is voiced by the same guy who played Jordan in TLOU2, the woman who played the nun (and another character later on) played Marlene in TLOU, and Laura Bailey (Abby in TLOU2) also voices a character later on, Nadine. Oh and the guy who plays Jamieson was Henry in TLOU.
Great video and yes Uncharted 4 takes the franchise to a new level in terms of graphics, animation, and story and characters. Even years after it's release its still very impressive and the remaster on Ps5 with the 3d audio well that's the icing on the top.

also on a side note i am a huge fan of Henry Avery...he is awesome. so this story has a warm place in my heart. Rafe: we don't know much about Rafe's backstory other than the fact he is a big time treasure guy like Nate n Sam but he is from a wealthy family unlike them. When they were first looking for Avery's loot they needed him to get into the prison but neither Sam or Nate really trusted him.

I think that the reason that 'Thief's End' is everyone's favorite because it brings the story to a satisfactory close. Nate and Elena's story is done, they're together, they're happy, they have a dog and an oblivious kid ... all's well that ends well.

Hello. I'm so happy to see someone getting to play this game for the first time and getting that feeling I did and probably everyone else did too. This one excited me so much but at the same time saddened me because I knew that this was the last one. I'm 52 years old now and have played many games, but this one, Uncharted 2, TLOU 1, and Resident Evil 4 are all my second Fav's with TLOU 2 Being my favorite of all time! Literally same first time I played uncharted 4 was in 2022 got to chapter 8 and gave up because I couldn’t understand what to press to climb up the wall with the rope until I started playing again recently and I’m on chapter 17 right now
Uncharted 2 and 4 are my favourites, 2 because of the action and 4 because of the character development/growth and imo cements the uncharted series as an actual treasure in playstation's catalogue.
Speaking of which, Panamanian Jail😄. Just as Drake mentioned to Elena at the beginning of Drake's Fortune. You probably forgot about that, but it's a nice callback. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this installment like the rest 😁
Shoutout to Dan for the game hookup 👍 This'll be a ton of fun to see you go through. The first Uncharted game to be made for the PS4 system opposed to the PS3. It was a huge leap in quality! Enough where now there's a PS5 version too. I'm lucky enough to have one, and the small improvements make a difference to me. EDIT: Yep, U4 did a LOT to improve how the shooting feels! I'm also gonna keep gushing about the animation work for everything. It all just looks so good all the time. Looking forward to the rest!
Pretty sure Nathan is the most cheerful mass murderer that ever existed. Also convinced that Nathan is Wolverine's second cousin once removed given his healing powers. Since they're in the same Naughty Dog universe we need a Nathan Drake and gang surviving the Last of Us fungal infection crossover.

It's one of my favorite chapters to watch players play for the first time. When you started tearing up during the game's opening credits and started reminiscing about the previous games, it got to me and had to fight back my tears! Ahh, nostalgia! 😄 And "Uncharted 5 when?" you say? This is my favorite Uncharted game. Much grittier, and more grounded in realism. Druckmann, and Straley knocked this one out of the park.

Literally same first time I played uncharted 4 was in 2022 got to chapter 8 and gave up because I couldn’t understand what to press to climb up the wall with the rope until I started playing again recently and I’m on chapter 17 right now
Uncharted 2 and 4 are my favourites, 2 because of the action and 4 because of the character development/growth and imo cements the uncharted series as an actual treasure in playstation's catalogue.
This game is gonna get better and better, trust me! It's just so good!
Speaking of which, Panamanian Jail😄. Just as Drake mentioned to Elena at the beginning of Drake's Fortune. You probably forgot about that, but it's a nice callback. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this installment like the rest 😁

This'll be a ton of fun to see you go through. The first Uncharted game to be made for the PS4 system opposed to the PS3. It was a huge leap in quality! Enough where now there's a PS5 version too. I'm lucky enough to have one, and the small improvements make a difference to me.
EDIT: Yep, U4 did a LOT to improve how the shooting feels! I'm also gonna keep gushing about the animation work for everything. It all just looks so good all the time.

Since they're in the same Naughty Dog universe we need a Nathan Drake and gang surviving the Last of Us fungal infection crossover.

When you started tearing up during the game's opening credits and started reminiscing about the previous games, it got to me and had to fight back my tears! Ahh, nostalgia! 😄
And "Uncharted 5 when?" you say? You're just gonna have to wait like the rest of us, now that you're almost all caught up in all things Uncharted, IF it ever happens that is, not that I need an Uncharted 5 since IMO, Uncharted 4 ended the series at a high.
This was the only uncharted game that I play it was really fun I played it over and over
