This would be one musical I would actually go to see. Possibly The Simpsons best work.
I love the way He looks at that lady ape when she says 'oooh help me doctor Zaius.
I love how this is the most actual talent Troy McClure has ever shown. The man may be a washed-up hack, but I guess you don't take as many parts as he does (or stay acting after years of being washed-up) without a genuine passion for entertaining people.
The spoken "Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius!" at the end of the refrain never ceases to get me.
This play IS everything.
It's "has", but yes, great quote
The pinnacle of human achievement in the arts.
"I love you, Dr. Zaius!" Had me burst out laughing!
same but this whole thing made me burst out laughing
I love the lines "He can talk?! He can talk!" to "I can SIIIIIIIIIING!!!" They are so self-indulgent and absurd.
After 25 years I still catch myself singing this in my head.
I had this stuck in my head for the last two days
Dr. Zaius is highly annoyed the entire time 😂
When I was like 9, 10 years old watching this on Sunday night like me & family did every Sunday for 14 years... When the Dr Zaius song came on and the monkey started break dancing... My father laughed, no, he fucking CRACKED UP hysterically. I had never seen him laugh like that. Then he later explained to me that this was a play on the "Rock Me Amadeus" song from the 80s.
Turning Rock me Amadeus into this, and "In the garden of eden" are the pinnacle of parody. Never to be surpassed. By the simpsons or anyone else. Especially not the simpsons now.
This is probably the single best joke in Simpsons history.
Well, look at the city slicker in his fancy comment section.
This needs to be on Broadway.
I love legitamet theatre.
Spongebob is now a musical so why not this right?!
Given that FOX owns both The Simpsons and the Planet Of The Apes movies, it's a shame this hasn't already been made.
Michael Reilly Disney owns them both now. Disney does like to make musicals so I’m surprised they haven’t already
@@jtszabo1691 Maybe they think that any attempt at making a stage musical not based on one of their popular movies would flop.
Probably the best scene ever made for The Simpsons.
If anyone is wondering. THe Dr. Zaius song is a parody of the song rock me amaedeus
Ya, I was wondering if they got it from that 80's song.
And Stop the World - I Want to Get Off if you want to cover everything.
GameSlimia, well, duh!!
Rest in Peace, Phil Hartman.
Your comedic genius was taken from us far too soon.
Peak Simpsons and the peak of humanity right here
1:26 “oh my god I was wrooooong” is one of the funniest lines off every Simpsons episode imo
You finally made a monkey.
I want this to be my wedding song while I pop it and lock it to this gem.
These two minutes > Season 10-current.
absolutely agreed
Season 12 had some gems.
I don't know all those Lisa episodes are really great. She is everyone's favorite Simpson after all.
I'd say season 12 and lower were the best
I have been watching them in release order over the year. I just finished season 12 which is really good. It's 13 where they start going bonkers.
The breakdancing always gets me 😂
"Oh my God, I was wrong! It was Earth all along!"
Fucking howling
I would totally go to see this. Why are fictitious musicals always cooler than the actual ones?
Hamilton was amazing.
Because they can load all the good parts into just a few minutes.
I literally just got the second opinion joke a few weeks ago. **smacks forehead**
+Michael Oliver Human: What's wrong with me!?
Dr. Zaius: I think you're crazy.
Human: Want a second opinion!
Dr. Zaius: You're also lazy.
You see, Dr. Zaius is a doctor giving off the cuff diagnoses. Troy as the Human asks for a second opinion. Dr. Zaius being a doctor, gives him a second opinion. It's supposed to be a different doctor diagnosing the Human.
+Michael Oliver the "Can I play the X any more" line is also a bad joke that is well known amongst doctors, real subtlety in this.
TheMrPistolable Thanks for the extra info!
I hate every new episode I see , from season 10 to currently...
oh they 'll never get again a like out of me...
0:02 Wow, people weren't kidding about the whole "Simpsons predicting everything" thing.
Referring to what?
@Thomas Cusack It was one cinema, not the whole street that was closed. A cinema could be closed for a million reasons. This is a stretch
@Thomas Cusack oh yeah, i think you're right
No, referring to Fox being closed, or bought by Disney
@@soychidoese that's even more of a stretch lmao. Closed does not mean bought
Can't stop watching the monkey break dance lol best scene ever.
1:05 this play has everything
"I LOVE YOU DR ZAIUS."
We all do, my friend. We all do.
It's been almost 30 years and they still haven't made a play out of this
Truly the most cursed timeline.
It’s the little things. The sound of chains clanking when the statue of liberty rises and the fact his gun is just a lump of wood😂
It’s almost maddening how much I can’t get this song out of my head, especially the Dr. Zaius chorus.
Falco - Amadeus
Thank me later.
The break dancing Ape 0:49 always gets me 😂😂😂
i'd pay good money to see this... this is not a joke
This and a proper McBain movie.
"I love legitimate theatre"
The Simpsons were really smooth back then.
0:44 I love how Dr. Zaius looks like he's saying "Why me?"
Ive probably watched this like 200 times and I just now noticed the ape moonwalking behind the breakdancing one 😂
This is perfection. Even decades later it still makes me smile 😁
