25 years ago, I was living in Reunion island, nearby SA. This guy was all over the musical scene. I even had the chance to see him live! His tunes, words, melodies are still planted in my veins! RIP, Sir. You are truly a legend!
This man is so amazing. I love him so much, him and his music. Thanks for the great interview. I am a french fan since 1986. His songs accompany my life and bring me a lot of joy and courage in my life. He is a very courageous and dignified man.
I remember this one time in 2005 i was at OR Tambo boarding for Maseru Lesotho. I bought two CD's of Johnny Glegg from the music shop at the airport. Our plane was delayed and we had already boarded. To calm the situation, the pilot decided to come out of the cockpit to assure us everything was in order. As he passed through my sit, he noticed i had the CD's in my hand. He literally wanted to swap the CD's and was amazed that i was listening to Johnny. I refused and felt very very bad later on for the poor pilot. I could have just agreed to the offer.
Been following Sir Clegg snce the mid 80s, glad ya'll got on board too !!!!! Glad you got a chance to be exposed to this man's tunes & dancing, & isiZulu speech, which transcend race, culture & the status quo......
