Is this the greatest Star Wars toy ever? Wow Nick! The graphics on the mini screen is frickin the best! Soo happy I could help u out🙏🏽I will enjoy it vicariously through your videos 😆🙌🏽 Enjoy it my friend 🙏🏽
Looks Amazing OOK!!! Awesome to have a peice of Disney at home!!!! Its awesome to see a Disney touch in your collection!!! Looks great I can't say enough about Disney and Star Tours great Stuff!!!! Looking forward to seeing it set up permanently in your collection room!!!! Keep up the great work OOK!!! 👍
I thought these would only be available at D23 as well but on some photos I saw, there was a little sign next to the Starspeeders saying “available at Disney Parks early 2025”. So these are in fact going to be available again. Probably just not with a carded Rex, because those will most likely be sold separately.
Thanks for the Tour, Captain Nick! Glad you got one. I can't believe they made something epic and thought 3,000 would be enough! Since you asked, I have no proof of this, but my theory was always that Hasbro designs the toys under license/contract and then Disney Parks has them produced by a third party manufacturer. It would explain why all the park exclusives are made to be compatible with or are Hasbro designs (Sandcrawler, Build-a-droid R2 etc.), but don't have any Hasbro trademarks. Either that, or they are made by Hasbro, but under contract to Disney, so only Disney trademarks are visible. (I don't know, but I'd put money on it being the first thing). Glad to see you having fun and I hope you had great trip to Disney!
This is a dream toy for me, despite never going on the attraction myself (im in australia) and never having the change to visit either DL or WDW, i hold this attraction close to me. It's an incredibly underrated piece of early Lucasfilm/Disney storytelling, and it deserves as much recognition as the films it's based off of. A friend of mine was in europe around 2009/2010, and got to ride ST Pre-Retrofit at i assume Disneyland Paris. Hearing stories of the attraction when they came back to australia, his mother described the droids (i assume the G2's or RX-24 Himself) as "Johnny 5" which, classic, but i always wondered what the attraction they where talking about was, till i found out about 4-5 years ago throuh Defunctland & Yesterworld. Again, despite never experiancing it first hand, and only online, this thing has become a major love of mine, and im so glad we have a current, 1987 focused release! Ive got a few issues with this thing (price is one aspect but im in australia, double that of the 300 USD asking price), The edits made to the ride film (trimmed for time, but also the fact it's randomized, most likley so they can retool/repaint this for the 2011 ver and have that version's randomness preserved). The lack of music (rights issues, it's the same with the Disney cruise attraction that uses star tours ride film as part of it's scenery), The fact this has the front twin cannons, despite that being an aspect of the SS1K, not the 3K (Again, clearly tooled up to be the 2011 version, but focusing on the 30th anv of the original attraction). Would have been nice to have the monitor light up with the corresponing dialogue, Rex instucting seatbelts to be tightened, the revel communication I REALLY want to get my hands on this, before it's announcement i wanted to find a maker that could build me a close-to-Studio scale miniature, but now that's not exactly nessicary. One little gripe ive also got is the fact we now need to buy 2002/2011 figures which really don't pass current SW figure expectations, i'm fine with that in some aspects, i don't collect modern SW, but it would have been nice had disney put out G2 droids as a pack in for this, or a Park exclusive set. Reguarding hasbro, i told my freind this FELT like something meant for their crowdfunding platform, but i assume (thanks to the lack of hasbro, Kenner, TVC Branding) and the fact that TVC is dead outside of reissues and Haslabs, that this was developed internally by Disney, with i assume little input from hasbro. It's a love letter to the attraction, and it feels disconnected from hasbro's cheapness.
What an awesome vehicle and ab awesome review. I couldn't believe how much bigger the 3000 is compared to the 1000. The lighting is incredible, and it will certainly display well. I have to say, I am slightly jealous, lol, but really pleased for you that you managed to get on. Lara V, very kind of you.
Aww.. thank you Stu! Stressful morning trying to get it.. Caus by the time I got into queue.. I was like number 31,000!😱 I was really surprised I was able to get it for him🙏🏽
hey bud great review. I loved at 21 min that laugh just showed the joy these things bring us as collectors and take us back to being kids and child like your passion ect I often get like that .thank you
Also love the exclusive Rex fig . Brings back some much nostalgia from 1987 . I have every star tours linear made from the years I just love how back then Disney was tied into Star Wars
Such a great looking vehicle and product. Once again hats off to Lara for getting this for you. Such a kind gesture on her part. Talk about giant. I wonder how big this thing is in comparison to other vehicles not just the previous Starspeeder they put out? I'm really happy you got this man. I know you and Victoria from Victoria's Cantina were really hoping to get this due to being fans of the ride and parks. I'd love one myself. As I've said before I was only in Disney world once and thus that was my only time seeing Star Tours but seeing that here now just brought me back to 19 years ago when I went. I look forward to seeing more also of your People mover experiment. I love fun things like that for collections and when people can combine their other interests. Anyway I think that's it for now but knowing me I've forgotten some stuff. Looking forward to the next video.
Wow, wow, wow😃 The lighting and electronics are absolutely AMAZING on this thing 😘👌 Does make you wonder why Hasbro can’t do this for Haslabs, which are normally at a higher price point than $300🤔 I saw some US guys post on Insta, their cards were warped as well. Well done Nick, awesome review, watched all the way through. Big thumbs up to Lara 👍🫶
@@usmcchet appreciate that, but surely for $500 which most Haslabs go for. Case in point paid £499 for cantina but not one bulb of lighting included for that price
Im so mad, waited for this to me available to non-attendees and by the time I got in it was sold out. Now its over a grand and well Ef that , hopefully they will release it later because I really want it. OOK I am glad you got yours and it does look cool.
What an amazing vehicle!! You’re a lucky man Nick, getting hold of one of these! Great review, love the fact it plays clips of the original Star Tours ride film. I’ve still got my original Disney parks exclusive Rex figure carded from my first trip to Disney-MGM Studios way back in 2001!! I know we briefly talked about this when we met up but yeah I’m convinced Hasbro make these exclusively for the Disney parks as they are compatible with the Hasbro range, it would make sense as Disney don’t have their own toy division. Enjoy your StarSpeeder 3000 and “light speed to Endor!!” 😎 P.S Quick thing I noticed when you were playing the video clips, there’s no music like there was on the ride. I’m guessing they either couldn’t clear the rights to it (bizarre given Disney now own the soundtracks) or didn’t want to pay the licensing rights to it for the price?? 🤷🏼♂️ still a mega cool item though 👍🏻
A Flying Space Cinema! 😁 Really enjoyed your review on this, OOK! I'm not too versed in Star Tours, but man, that is one of the cooleset Star Wars 3.75" vehicles I've seen!😎 What other 3.75" vehicle has video footage built in!!!? Just goes to show that Hasbro should really up their game with Haslabs which have none of these features! Have fun with this one, mate! 😀
🤣🤣🤣 you've hit the nail on the head man! It IS a 3.75 cinema!! 😆🤣😂 much like I suppose the attraction is! A cinema that moves!!! I think originally, they even considered making a Star Wars themed indoor Rollercoaster, but the simulator was new technology emerging! Cabin really comes alive though with those additional LEDs going off inside!! 🥰👌🩵 thanks so much for watching man! 👍👍
Beautiful! ❤ Great overview mate! Such an amazing piece! I just can’t wait to get mine in hand in November 😢 Agree with your above comment as a Disney fan and as someone who rode the original ride numerous times since 1994 It is a piece of history as well as an amazing toy ❤️
I was able to order one after the D23 event was complete. The sticker sheets came in one of the baggies, mine were wrinkled and folded too. The carded Rex I received also had a bit of a curve to the card, but I slapped him into a Star Case right away. At the moment I have about 13 passengers in it. I think a little over half capacity is good enough for now. I have seen all of the clips except for the return to the base. I don't know if it is part of the video program or not. Maybe there is a trick to getting the return to base clip to play? Like how if you press both buttons a plain star field is displayed on the screen. A very nice touch. I'd be happy to share a couple of photos of my gaggle of random passengers. I went searching for marked down, figures online. Great video!
Great comment... thank you very much! 🥰👍 Someone else also commented on return to base.... (which as you saw I got) and they said, if you leave it a while before you press anything, you'll get that one?! 🤔🤷🏻♂️ I dunno... I've not deliberately tried it out YET!
