I know this city very well, having done my Erasmus exchange there. I also speak Greek very well and come back every year for my monthly holidays. Some hotels seem great (number 8 for instance), BUT they are situated in a not so GOOD neiborghood once shops are closed, I mean after 9 pm. You'll feel unsafe and the "local faune" is not the best from Greece if you understand what I mean. The Monastiraki and Plaka's district are fine the day, not in the night. I wouldn't advise for this reason.

You are partly wrong. Plaka is fine 24/7 as it is a very posh and luxurious neighborhood, unlike Monastiraki, which is more for young people and cheap hence a bit more “unsafe”

@@georgedaskalakis3217 I still disagree with you. Last year, my AirBnb, and this year as still in Plaka (near odoas Athinas to be exact, at the beginning, near Monastiraki station). that's okay for me who speak well Greek since I lived there and did my Erasmus year, but what about an "ordinary" tourist ? I still won't advise it.
