When Nf’s parents got divorced his mom got them. During that time her boyfriend abused him and would lock him in rooms for hours to days. Authorities found out and take the kids and the dad gets them. His mom later overdosed when he was 17-18. He gets more in depth with it in his songs, mansion, Nate, and other ones are some he talks about it.

This song hits so deep to me.. Being 18 and raising a kid.. Never having my mom who was a drug addict or my father who abused me and is a alcoholic. Everytime i hear this my heart aches im so glad u guys listened to his song it helps so many people.
If you like songs that are personal and have meanings, NF is your artist. His music is basically all a diary of his life experiences and emotions. He uses his music as an outlet to cope with everything, not for fame. This song is very emotional and sad but he had to write this song because he’s talked about any many other of his songs that his moms drug addiction really started it all and he really perfected it with this song because he made us feel his emotions. I personally love this song because I can relate to it. His music is so relatable which is why he has such a strong fan base but the only thing about it, is if you don’t relate to it, it may not be for you because it might bring you down, but if you can get passed that and hear the talent, man it’s life changing!

Hey, and...my sista from anotha mista, showed me this song back in 2018, when she came back to my house and moved in with me, and it connected with me deeply, i knew she felt safe with me around, she... turned to drugs...for a while, but Thank God, she sobered up and gettin her life together, and staying strong and stayin sober, she livin with her fam in arizona but i seen pics of her and her mom together, FINALLY they both know that their love is there for each other, im so proud that... I. Never. Gave. Up. Or. Ever. Will. On. Them. She changed me for the better for kerps too, for real, keep it hunnid.
She seein and hearin about me doin well too, its helpin her and especially knowin i keep her real to me, and she let her mom to let me know she knows, silent prayers get answered.
My dad brings back bitterness of his dad never coming to his stuff like his games but then he never came to any of mine either and I’ll never understand that. I’ll be there for my children through everything.
I'm way too late with this one but I kinda had the same situation that he had growing up except i lost my mom when I was 13 to a drug overdose from opioids and my dad was a deadbeat and never was there for me. So i understand what he went through because I also went through this. Also I just subbed to y'all so keep the fire content coming!

9:25.. The pills took her away once meaning she was just an absent parent because she was always off doing drugs and wasn’t involved in the kids lives. The second time they took her life and she died. I worked in Child protective services for 10 years and saw this kind of thing on the daily.. this song hits home and is heartbreaking.

Now idk where he is an I’m terrified he’s gone. I’ve tried an tried to get a hold of him an he always answers me.

That song is very close to home because my aunt Theresa my mother's older sister used drugs, and pills over her family when I was a kid my aunt don't have kids but she had a miscarriage because the drugs was still in her system when I was a infant my aunt will do anything to get money buy drugs like steal from stores, me,my sister, my whole family, and her friends, or she sleeps around to get money or drugs if she didn't had any money she always be in the wrong crowd when she goes and does these things and come back a week later eat all of my grandmother's food where my grandmother don't have anything to eat my aunt did had my grandmother's jeep taken away by the cops my grandmother had to get it back because my aunt used my grandmother's jeep to get drugs my aunt is a very smart woman she had a nurse's degree but she choose drugs and wrong crowd but my aunt is still alive that I am still inshooked about it how she still alive of all the drugs she been drugs since middle school age 12 thereason why my family barely have have enough money because my grandmother always bails my aunt of jail and when me and my family about to go on trips my grandmother wanted to take my aunt to go with us we said no like when I was 15 years old of summer 2008 going to san antonio tx for family vacation my family and grandmother argue about my aunt doesn't need to go she will ruined it but my grandmother said Theresa is my baby and my mom said yes but she will ruin everything and we was right my aunt was doing the samething she she did in sherman tx and denison tx plus my aunt always play the innocent point the blame to people that they made her to do it. Sorry for rambling about my story I just wanted people to know how I been thru this as well and it sucks so much to see a love one does this
