Funny you commented now. I am playing with the radio as we speak (trying to get the terminal mode up) and yes - the upper left button seems a bit stiffer than the rest. Perhaps that's where a case screw lands? Seems to be working fine thought. Is your radio up and running? CommsPrepper
For All Those Interested In This Radio for terminal and access point mode These modes do not work like a hot spot. They only work with call sign routing which means you can't just connect to a repeater or a reflector and have a general QSO. So there are two reviews on this radio on TH-cam and neither make this clear. The advertising literature also does not make this clear. Buyer beware. Also, if this information has changed please reply so I know so I can make it work as I had intended it to and that is like a hotspot. But, as of the information I have this morning, this only works with callsign routing, which sucks. If you already have the ID-880h, there is no strong reason to "upgrade" to the 4100 (unless you really need the DR mode) the Access Point and Terminal modes are useless in the US. It feels like Icom just stole 460 bucks from me. I'm probably done with ICOM after they pulled this crap.

Good point. I recall I made a video updating the ID-880H repeater list with the software. I just don't remember how I did it now. I did check the Icom site and the radio is not in need of firmware upgrade.
Is the download of software from the computer using the cable a one time event? After that is done once, and the radio is setup, can changes to the list of repeaters be made by simply updating the micro SD card? Please respond. You can send an email to WD6AZA@arrl.org

For RF-dense areas, digital radio can be far superior in many ways. Excluding yourself is like someone refusing to use fuel injection because they understand carburetors better.
