In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Watcher. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Even though it goes against basically all of the Watcher's normal mechanics, Pressure Points runs are consistently BY FAR the most fun I've had with the character. It's just such a hoot.
Really informative run. I rarely take Dome because I'm not that familiar with attack patterns, but I feel like I learned a lot from this run.
On my first watcher run, I added 2 pressure points by floor 8, then I got Pandora’s box after the boss. Pandora’s box had 3 pressure points in it, and let’s just say it got into silly ville. I managed to kill the act 3 boss on turn one. I actually thought this card was top teir..... till I realized it was only good with itself.
Thats not true- it has plenty of synergy with Scry and Draw. It just doesn't synergize with Wrath, which lets Watcher do nuttier things

Also I love pressure points being mostly useless until heart fight. Or rather I kind of hate how bad it was despite there being so many copies, but it was fun to see it eventually do something. Also I'm never picking it again after seeing this, I was already kind of leaning that way but oof.
I had a run the other day where I ended up turning down 4 pressure points in Act 1 alone. Wished I had gone in on it from the beginning.
it's not really a bad pick for act one even if you don't find another one, just keep the deck small, remove strikes and avoid gremlin nob.

Have you ever considered using mods? Would love to see you playing Downfall.
Downfall if used by itself is pretty in line with the base game and feels more like a DLC or alternate game mode than a fan mod, it's fairly balanced too as they keep improving on it even to this day. Except for Neow... he belongs in Elden Ring.
Baalor uses multiple mods, and he recently played downfall on stream, I recommend watching the VOD's on twitch although he said they might come to youtube as well

Didn't know about base mod giving you an orb slot with Foreign Influence either! Notably this means Meteor Strike created via Foreign Influence+ is much better on PC than on console/mobile. 4 extra energy instead of nothing.

Actually happened on Doom Patrol, turns out. Supervillain who gets insane strength when she's sleepwalking. Takes out Sunburst, one of Japan's 'regular' superheroes, even.
I'm a little late to the party here, but just wanted to say very cool run!
One of my most favorite runs was a pressure points infinite I was able to craft. It used meditate, establishment and 2 sanctuaries. Required a little setup, but after meditating the pp and sanctuaries and making them 0 cost with establishment, it was smooth sailing. Super fun run.

I also love the concept of it. But sadly I feel it is sorta weak since you dant hav any other cards that plays into the mechanic so it gets outmatched by the other archtypebuilds for the watcher. The the main archtypes being like stancepivot, mantra, retain and wrathsetup

I'm going to be getting a PC by the end of January and I am so looking forward to being able to finally use mods. So many new game mechanics and characters to learn with mods. I cant wait

You could make a whole Character around pressure points. Or at least a poison tier gimmick. What pressure points should say is "1-cost, remove all artifact, exhaust" and it upgrades to 0 cost
Wouldnt that card be pretty unplayable? It feels like it would be an ascenders bane in most fights
@@sun-does-shine well then make it "1-cost, apply 1 vulnerable 1 weak one poison, exhaust" and it does the same thing but with added benefit. But i still think removing all artifact would be better, its useful in many late game fights which watcher struggles with (donu deca, the act 4 elites, the heart).

This is my first time watching. I'm very confused at some of the choices made...
Well, having watched the whole video I can say that I've learned a ton. You approach things way differently than I do and at first I couldn't see the method in the madness but now I can honestly say I've learned much about the character having watched this.
What mods did you play with? If you can remember

I guess these videos are probably just taken from streams, but I would love a little shorter videos to watch the content a little quicker. i know it's tough to condense but all these vids are movie length. idk how you'd apply that but its an idea
That would be an absolutely horrific idea, both from an analytics and content perspective; i would advise against watching StS if you need constant stimulation and jump cuts
