In fact hairs aren't that good for birda to fill their nests. I've seen cases where the little ones got one or more of those hairs around their feet and they strangled the foot. Not good at all
The birds take fuck all when its on the ground! I have a cob who is just a hairy beasty, but the fluff stays there for ages before getting washed away But ive seen them pluck away on the neighbours little welsh type
It has something to do with the worms taking nutrients away from the horse. Since the body is low on nutrients it doesn't want to let go of anything that might be of use. According to www.manitobacooperator.ca/livestock/horse-health-should-you-be-concerned-if-your-horse-is-shedding/ "Horses that carry a heavy intestinal parasite burden begin to look unthrifty, lose body condition and shed out poorly as the worms draw nutrients away from the horse."

@@OtterLovesYouSo I'm not exactly sure but I believe it has something to do with not having enough nutrients because the worms are stealing it and the body feeling like it doesn't want to lose anything else so it keeps the coat.

Michigan, but they are the kind of bot flies that lay eggs on the horses legs and chest and then the horses ingests the eggs and the larva develop inside the horse.
But don't botfly larvae just live under skin, and not in the digestive tract? It's weird they'd cause weight loss to me. I'd expect that more from tapeworm/roundworm etc I've never owned a horse so I admit limited knowledge, this just sounds weird to me
@@dragonyami there are two different types of bot flies, there is one where the larva live under the skin (we don't have that kind where I live) and one where the animal ingests the eggs and the larva live in the digestive tract (those are the kind we have in Michigan).

Reason to worm periodically. And get all necessary shots for the year.
Proper care is a must for horses.
Glad to hear they're caring for her.
What do you mean I hope you enjoyed it?! There's a whole 98% left of horse to do! I need like a two hour video of deshedding 😂😂🤗
@@yaimamartinez9576 maybe next spring 😊
WOW! There’s a horse under there!!! 😂😂
She's so fluffy! I'm glad worming her helped.
I had no clue horses shed like this!!
All of that dandruff coming out, I hope her skin feels a lot better after getting that hair out!
I’m sure that felt amazing!
Do horses dance and roll after a good grooming. It must feel so much better
They usually have a good roll 😊

Try to open the shedding tool it’s so much easier
That is a great idea, but unfortunately I have to hold the camera with one hand. Working on getting a GoPro or something like that for my videos.

Some of the clumps may be due to rain rot.
I've dealt with rain rot before, a good cure is vinegar. Fortunately, this was just a regular spring shedding.
