Not to spoil anything, but during the flashback scene at Vault-Tec, when they showed the representative from Rob-Co... let's just say, fans of the games went into full "HOLY SHIT" mode because that guy plays a very, very big role in one of the games.
Two, actually. Big MT. is represented by Frederick Sinclair in the credits of the show. Looks different compared to House's portrayal, but he's there.
"Or you could come meet your makers" has never been so relevant.

@@aidanleffler4897 First time I ever played New Vegas, I didn't realize that you couldn't just head north from Goodsprings to try to go directly to the Strip. And of course, cazadores are waiting for you when you head north from Goodsprings, and it wasn't until like my 5th time dying brutally that I realized, "Oh, wait, I guess I'm not actually allowed to go this way yet."

Hank nuked Shady Sands because his wife (Lucy's mom) saw Shady Sands as proof that civilization had returned to the world outside the vault and she wanted to raise her children there. But Hank saw Shady Sands as everything wrong with the world and didn't want his children out there. He says in episode 8 that he "had to make a choice between their violent world and our peaceful one." A choice between Shady Sands and Vault 33. He says that if wasteland factions can't stop fighting, then factions should be eliminated and only vault dwellers should survive to make a better world. It's the theme of the entire show, what Max says at one point about how everyone wants to save the world but they disagree how. Hank's drunk on Vault Tec koolaid and thinks this is how he will make things better. But I think there's also some anger in there, too, because Lucy's mom wasn't a "true believer" any more.

@@MeeshDeeReactsSo if we trust Moldaver, who is amongst other iffy stuff, also using A FAKE name, and Hank nuked Shady, where did he get a nuke? And Max there, with all new rubble and fires, then knew about "the bomb"? Or some people in Shady knew? Otherwise that close to a nuke would not have time to even blink, let alone hide. Do not trust Moldaver. She either don't know, or is lying on purpose. Getting the code was her only goal there, nothing else.
Rose was never a true believer because she was not a Vault-Tec employee. She was just a regular vault member.
I'm not sure we've seen the last of Moldaver. The fact that she has been around since before the war, then there is obviously something that has prolonged her life. My theory is that it wasn't a cryo chamber, like Hank and Vault 31. I feel like there is some cloning or something similar going on, and whenever she dies, a new body/clone takes its place. Remember how they called her Flame Mother back in Vault 4? Feels like they are definitely referring to a Phoenix, the mythical bird of fire that rises from its ashes.
Oooo this is a good theory! I can totally see that connection esp with what you mentioned from vault 4. Hopefully she lives!
Cloning does not copy a person and their memories. It just makes a genetic twin.
@@Dark__Thoughts Although... there is another thing in the Fallout universe that's similar to a clone... it's, uh... let's say, "synthetic"... and can have memories programmed into it, that I'm assuming they'll introduce at some point...
I've assumed Moldaver was in cryo, but I could definitely see them heading in this other direction. Or hell, maybe both. Maybe this Moldaver was in cryo, and they'll utilize that other option to keep her around. Minimally, though, I think we're clearly going to see her in flashbacks still.
@@JeffKelly03 Given that they revealed Moldaver in the same episode as the cryo pods in vault 4 I would say it is a strong hint that she had her own one. The fact that she was apparently rich would support this as well.
@@Dark__Thoughts Oh I agree. It’s easily the most likely. She’s also a brilliant scientist, so I would imagine she would have had access to a pod in some way or another.
Infinite power from cold fusion would translate into lights, manufacturing, power for hospitals, food production, water treatment etc. On my initial watch I didn't think the lights coming on was a big deal until I thought it through.
Season 2 is being filmed as we speak, it will be ready by spring 2025 if all goes well.
So many bombs in this finale! Also possibly one of the best video game to tv show adaptations. It kept the essence of the games and made it work on screen with a unique story too.
Do you guys work for Vault-Tec? You both mentioned 'dropping bombs' during this reaction.
Did you notice the foreshadowing of Buds brain on a roomba? He drives up to the Vault-Tec building in a little car with a glass roof and there's circus music playing on the radio.
There's a good chance that Lucy and Maximus knew each other when they both lived in Shady Sands. They may have played together as kids.

The skull at the end was from a creature called a deathclaw and the city Hank was going to was Vegas or what it's called in the fallout universe "New vegas"

I love the fact that both Lucy and Maximus got exactly what they wanted at the beginning of the show, yet here they are now wishing they hadn’t gotten there.
Michael Emerson had such a great monologue, I just wish we'd gotten more of him
Remember in episode 3 where Thadeus asked "Titus" if he dispatched the Ghoul with no problem and it was left as if Maximus didn't have the skills to kill one ghoul,

Well, it is video game adaptation that stays true to a video game, instead of forcing hard drama and other B.S., and also is not a type show that rubbs hollywood the way they like. So yeah, too successful to be ignored = nominations and award or two. Typical stuff from FAKE HOLLYWOOD AWARDS.

@@rowenatulley852 I love Walton Goggins so, so, so much and I'm still pissed he never won for playing Boyd Crowder, but I can't argue with Hiroyuki Sanada winning for Shogun. That show was incredible, and he was phenomenal. Walton was obviously deserving for this, but at least it went to someone who was also very deserving.

I wouldn't say Moldaver is exactly "good" since she did attack Vault 33 and killed a lot of people. Lucy and Norm were almost killed too during that raid.

Lucy’s last “okey dokey” seriously gives me chills. Her delivery coupled with the really tense and foreboding score just hits so hard.
Moldaver’s goal is kinda fuzzy. I imagine she would’ve preferred to bring infinite power to the New California Republic, and restore it to what it was before the fall of Shady Sands, and then from there start healing the world…
But in the end, the best she could do is just HAVE it in the world and hope that it gets used to the benefit of the world by whomever takes control of it.

Moldaver abd Rose were definitely lovers. The flashback with them together was very intimate abd I realzied it immediately.

Also as PEOPLE starved during 2277 plague (fake, just a cover up for those who went out), Rose was not only one who went out. Moldaver sorta lied there in the end. Manipulated Lucy. And Rose was not a lesbian (married willingly to a guy, had two children) she can be bi maybe, but as said: lovers with Moldaver is highly UNLIKELY, cause nothing much adds up with that hypothesis..
@@elvisibraBeing willingly married to a man in a confined/limited population scenario like a vault doesn’t necessarily mean that Rose wasn’t gay. It means her society wasn’t in a position that made exploring her sexuality the socially responsible thing to do.
Wanting to get out of that situation and explore the larger world, where she’d have the freedom to discover herself, could well have been what drove her to leave the vault in the first place.

It's not clear to me how long ago Shady Sands was destroyed. Maxiums and Lucy were both young children. It can't be 30 years, maybe as little as 13 years. If the radiation from the blast turned Rose into a ghoul, she could have lived for decades as a ghoul without turning feral. Maybe she only turned feral recently.
It's not clear how Moldaver planned to get Hank to give up the code. Torture is an option. Or maybe she planned to show Hank the results of his actions. If he saw that his wife was a feral ghoul, knowing that he did it to her... maybe it would soften his heart enough that he would give up the code.
If that was Moldaver's plan, it didn't work. Hank was not going to give up the code until Lucy insisted. It was the tag-team of Hank's wife and daughter that eventually triggered enough guilt that he gave up the code.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

30:41 Cold fusion is fusion technology without the need for high temperatures to fuse molecules together, meaning you can generate energy extremely easily. It's a made up sci-fi energy source with no real basis though, as there's absolutely no concept of cold fusion in real life, unfortunately. Fusion technology on Earth that we develop and what the sun provides requires incredibly high temperatures, in our case even higher ones than the sun itself. Vault-Tec bought the patents in order to shelve it, because it would've likely ended the wars and thus made the vaults obsolete.
The NCR is overall better than the Brotherhood, or Vault-Tec, but I would not call them "good" - at least not without quotation marks. Because the NCR does a lot of shit too, and what they did in the first episode was just one example of that, but there's a lot of cases where not even the intentions behind their actions are good. Sometimes their members are just thugs who'll do thug things to you or others.
If you like post apocalyptic stories, definitely watch The Last of Us, and Silo. They both are about to get their second season early next year. Silo is also an incredible underdog due to it being on Apple's streaming service. And TLoU is kinda what broke the whole game adaptation curse that we had in TV. They're both quite a bit more serious / mature though.
This show was nominated for 16 Emmys but only won one. Criminal in my opinion.
(And the city in the end is what was las vegas and is now "New Vegas" the game new vegas that is set in that location is among the most intricately written games ever made with stories you can keep learning for years. I've been playing the fallout games since 2010 and when new vegas ultimate edition finally released i played it and til this day over 12 years later I still find new things playing and I've beaten it over 30 times.
I've not got much to say except that I've enjoyed this series of reactions. Although I dont believe Rose and Muldaver were lovers, I think they were just best bros.
This show, and TLOU have given other studios a blueprint for creating great video game adaptations.

Just to clarify, what you see in the beginning of the episode is not the entire Brotherhood. They're just the local chapter of the Brotherhood. The full Brotherhood is quite large, with chapters operating in multiple territories. In fact, there's even a disagreement over doctrine between the east and west coast chapters of the Brotherhood regarding what their overarching mission should be.
Cant wait for S2.. in the meantime, I'll be getting my Ella Purnell fix via. "Sweetpea", IE. her new (very British) show.

@@hungryrabbiddawg "Sweetpea" seems to be a strange mix of a lot of different genres, really.. ranging from horror, to thriller, and big leaps into comedy.. it's definitely something that'll allow her to stretch as an actor.

To help you out they have fusion tech just hot fusion and that burns out the housing and has to be stooped and fixed cold fusion will not burn out there for the power will never stop tell its housing degrades from time. P.S. we have the tech as well just not worth doing less efficient then what we have.

They are going to New Vegas, the setting to the best Fallout game. Mr House (the head of RobCo) had his own vault and runs the city. In the game the vault had sections cemented off which I now think could be holding the upper management in stasis pods. You guys rule by the way! I hope you like the analysis videos. As a game lover this show was a 10/10 it is the best game adaptation ever made.
I think leaving the active battlefield was more important than changing clothes haha
The only downside to your reaction were that you really went in blind and didn't get the joy of seeing New Vegas at the end.. you would have jumped from your chairs.

One of the best finale's I've ever seen. And if you play the games even more so. In the game a player perk is called Idiot Savant having low intelligence but often lucky results. This has been a fan theory for Maximus.

Norm I think will get out of 31, he has a number of options, threaten Bud, hack the door or slip out the crack that the radroaches are using to get in.
I think Moldaver kept Rose alive so she could see the lights turn on, and maybe for a brief moment, see some sort of reaction that indicates somewhere in there, Rose is still there. And Lucy shot her 5 minutes before it could happen. Fallout hates us.

Moldaver brought a bunch of raiders to massacre a bunch of innocent civilian people.
And she *KNEW* what they were like to boot, she didn't go in expecting a war.
She voluntarily slaughtered a bunch of defenseless Miss Daisies.
Yes, she did it to help her own cause and her own people, but that's basically the same thing Hank did, on a different scale.
And it's the same thing Vault-Tech did, on a very different scale.
She is no hero.
Let alone "ultimate".
They're all horrible villains.
In the FO4 video game, if you play as a female, you have the opportunity to have a same sex relationship (one night stand) with a NPC. Also a same sex romance with some of your companions. Don't know about the other games' relationships.
But back to the TV series, I wonder if Rose's failed marriage to Hank had inspired her to have a romance with Moldaver? Would love to see a Season 2 flashback of Rose and Moldaver. And more of Rose's time with her kids in Shady Sands.

I enjoyed the hell out of your reactions for Fallout. I’ll need to go through your Boys reactions now, to keep me going. As a player of the games this was great in that respect, and as a fan of good programs Fallout is in my top three shows. It was awesome all round. I think the relationship of Moldaver and Rose is deliberately left open to interpretation. I didn’t think anything of it when I first watched it and reactors have seen it one way or the other. Can’t wait to see what Norm does next.

Bro, the reversal of this episode was genius. I mean, as a huge fan of the games I obviously am fanatically devoted to the NCR. . .and I honestly spent the whole show viewing Moldaver as the big bad. Then. . .in that one instant. . .I loved her, and hated Lucy's father more than Ive ever hated any Fallout character lol. It took me days to process what was revealed in this last EP. But now, I cant wait for the next game where we rebuild the NCR under the banner of the flame mother 😏🙏
Edit: Vault Tech didnt have to drop ALL the bombs. . .tensions were already high, they just had to drop on or 2 bombs. Take out LA, then China and the US finished the rest on their own. . .

Fantastic reaction and as a long time Fallout fan it was amazing to see your fresh reactions to a series that has many shades of grey. I loved how both of you were always questioning things you've seen, had your mind open to new idea's it was a fantastic and fresh reaction. A new fan of your channel but also one who really loves both of your takes on what you watch.
I wanted to mention a show, I don't know if you've seen this series or would hold a reaction to it, but in my opinion it is one of the best cop shows around and it holds several things that you've reacted to with Fallout. The show is called The Wire and it is fantastic. It holds many shades of grey, between actions made in the show, between characters, and toward who is good and who is bad. If you are ever open to a new show to react to, one that is deep grounded but also has rich characters and their identities, one that also shows early 2000s LGBTQ representation The Wire is one to watch. It has many fans, me included and is a show held in such high regards.
Edit: In regards to The Wire, if yall loved The Ghoul, then yall would most definitely love Omar.

I hope they canonize Mr. House's New Vegas ending the next season, but something tells me that they might not go with any of the endings and simply have New Vegas destroyed by the tunnelers that Ulysses said would make their way to the Mojave eventually. I hope not though, because that would alienate a lot of fans.
That overrated trash heap is glorified most often by people with severely limited reading experience.
Vault-tec's plan was so dumb. They wanted to end war by ending factions. But literally created a unique faction just from vault to vault. Like look at vault 4 compared to lucy's vault. If they all went to the surface each vault would basically be their own faction and would probably end up fighting. AND ALSO WHY EVEN END THE WORLD? You do that and you're forced to eat canned goods, the same small select amount of crops, no new movies, shows, games,etc. Like they really thought resetting humanity would be a good idea :/
I don't know if you've played the games, but that wasn't exactly the plan. And it wasn't VaultTec making the plans. Barb was looking up into the shadows and getting instructions. I won't say anything more, because spoilers.

loved this reaction but i have one small request. please try to think of Maximus a little less harshly. bear in mind that when he first walks into the room at the end he has no idea what has gone on. he certainly doesn't have the context we as the audience have. all he knows is that Hank is in a cage and Lucy is stood there crying. i'm always surprised that very few reactors aren't actually a little mad at Lucy for not telling Maximus what had happened, though she has just had a really traumatic experience. so given the circumstances, it makes perfect sense that when Maximus enters the room and Hank asks him to let him out that he would go right ahead and do that thing! to the best of my knowledge Maximus is neither psychic nor has he read the script!🙂
Most people are still stuck thinking he's suspicions and can't change the mindset, even though they show the truth this episode.

The Fallout world isn't black and white, and most factions are pretty bad. The NCR isn't perfect, but they're the closest thing to the "good guys" or "morally good" choice. So yeah, in this world Moldaver is about the closest thing to the "good", as she's the leader of the NCR. The reason "everybody knows who she is" is because she's the only one actually trying to build something and create a peaceful world, while everyone else just wants to kill everyone who isn't them.

Very good game adaptations! I love playing F4;F76 good stories! But i hate the Vault-Tech human research! New Vegas in the end right? I don't play F1-3;NV Win10 not working this game. In game 2077 but real world when? - War never changes! In other words, it is not the people who are important, but the raw material for the politicians!
I do think it’s a little whack that earlier in the series they made a point of showing the power armor yeet a boulder, knock a building down, and crush a guys skull, but smackin the sht out of Maximus barely knocked him out 🤔 but yano, plot armor n such…

This Max guy's actor has one of the most irritating faces with the least charming characterization ever! I have never wanted more for a character to die sooner and be done with it. Yes, that includes even Joffrey from GOT 😅 I can't believe this Max character is in S2. Damn! How much can one really hate a character from a show!
