My hubby had stents put in when they found he had a large aneurysm on his aorta that was 8 yrs ago he is 58 yrs old now. Don't feel embarassed about getting emotion, you are human .You will be fine mate they will sort it for you take care xxxxxx
Morning richard I no it's hard to take a back seat believe me I no I went from working 70/80 hours a week long distance wagon driving to being sat in the house unable to even drive my car due to a stroke that affected my eyesight. Luckily I recovered well from that. This taught me that everything seems to take care of itself and taking notice of the specialists is paramount do all the tests and get yourself put right. And never worry stress over any procedure they wish to carry out it is safe or they wouldn't do it take care, crack on
Keep your chin up Richard. Try not to worry about the angiogram, I've had similar procedures a few times and they are quite painless. Trust your doctors, they will get you all straightened out in no time. You'll be home before you know it. Best wishes.
Richard I had this done 14 years ago in Egypt of all places, having a star t fitted its a painless if a tad scary procedure, A few months later Jo and I walked the Inca trail so once you’ve had it sorted you will be fine and back to normal but you will have to behave and cut out the scratching and you have a great family and good friends who will help you through this, Crack on.
There’s nothing like a medical issue to bring you down to earth and reassess everything. After a life time of good health I discovered, at the age of 69 I had cancer just before the first lockdown. Thankfully the radiotherapy and a big operation to remove the tumour all went along successfully and I emerged into the summer sunshine with a whole new view on life. It’s not been plain sailing since then and I’m somewhat disabled now, but I currently don’t have cancer and I can still go for a short walk. I do hope whatever they decide to do re your heart, that it all goes well and you are soon back home with your family. My only advice is don’t do too much too quickly, let those lovely lads of yours help out on the farm whilst you slowly ease yourself back in. A friend had a similar heart issue a few years ago and he is amazingly well now at the age of 78. Could be a whole new lease of life for you PS I can cry over sad and happy things I see, your video brought a few tears to the eyes especially towards the end. I find it so moving when big tough men cry
Hang in there Richard. When the going gets tough the tough keep going. You are like any Farmer in Hospital, cabin fever when away from the wide open spaces. You have the next generation in Jack and Harry helping the current generation, your brother......... that's the essence of a family farm. Your problems have been caught in time so you can be fixed! Like the old MF 135, a bit of repair and a bit of preventative maintenance and you are ready for the hard slog, again.
The boys are a credit to you as you were to your dad. With all the support from friends, family and the medical staff you’re going to make a speedy recovery. Love and best wishes xx
Glad you’re still here Richard. You’ll be fine man, I agree they will probably put in a stent. The reason the boys are so responsible is because of how you and the missus thought them, they’re a credit to you both. Hopefully you’ll be home soon and flying around the farm.
Keep positive Rich I had a heart attack back in 2003 having a stent fitted and it was done with great results I’m almost 70 now and life is great, watch out for Hollies cakes 🍰
Get well soon, you're in the best place just do what them doctors and nurses tell you and don't rush things. Your brother and boys are well capable of keeping thing going until you get back and like most farm kids they can see and know what needs to be done and get on with it without someone having to tell them.
All us farmers are a tough breed! It is important to sort your health issues out! It is great all this is found early and can be sorted! What great lads Jack and Harry are!! Mind yourself! Like the tractor a full service is necessary now and then!

Take it easy Richard and try not to worry to much. You made me cry. I had a blocked artery in 2011 they cleared it out and put a stint in. It was hard but I changed my habits a little and I've been fine for 11 years and I'm sure you will be as well take good care of yourself and do what the doctors suggest. Love your videos. ❤
I had that done a couple of weeks ago as well Richard I didn’t know a thing about it though so try not to worry about it. I had the 3 stents fitted which seem to be working well. I was home soon after but it’s a slow road recovering unfortunately. Luckily for me i am an electrician so people will wait for me to get back to work. The recovery is pretty slow and sore but nothing like the heart pain. Hopefully they get you in for it soon and heading home shortly afterwards just don’t rush back to work if you can avoid it. I do understand as my father was a dairyman and also had heart troubles and he would be back at work as soon as he could after being Poorly. Usually too soon and sooner than the doctors advised. I do love watching you farming on youtube it reminds me of the life I loved as a kid growing up on a dairy farm. It really is the best job in the world.

Ohh mate. Am going through the exact same thing. Its horrible. Am waiting on the ct cardio angiogram. Got the eco soon. They've diagnosed me as filami hypocholestrolemia (think thats how you spell it). Am 46 and fit as a fiddle. What they said to me was it doesnt matter how fit/unfit you are or what foods you eat id still have this. Its genetic. Good luck rich. Keep smiling.

As so many others on this comment thread that had similar experiences. 6 Weeks ago I had a pacemaker installed for heart chamber irregularities. And was home within 14 hours. There is a 6 week recoup stage of dos and don't. Whatever the Doc prescribes, at least you're lucky enough to have caught it early enough to get it under control. It's been a pleasure to see you with the boys, working and playing together. No wonder they had the where-with-all to fill in, in an emergency. Blasted dust in my eyes as well chap. Big hugs fella. You're in the right place and they'll get you sorted out before you know it. A clever locum Dr many years ago diagnosed a xanthoma on my arm, basically a fatty lump. Result, ultra high cholesterol, underactive thyroid and statins/thyroxine for life. They caught it early. Also familiar with the tread mill test (which I failed miserably) and ultrasound. Fortunately for me the main muscle is fine at least mechanically. Very slow resting heart rate means sinus bradycardia..... it's this getting older thing mate I tell you. The boys are a credit to you and your wife. Well played Sir!

I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat about 5 years ago after wearing a heart monitor for a couple of weeks, it ended up with me having a pacemaker fitted, so I hope everything goes ok for you Richard, get well soon and will look forward to more video's from the farm

Great to see the boys being responsible and taking a step towards growing up helping the family. I sympathise with you, being on an admission ward is hell, for me, especially as I had meningo-encephalitis, a noisy mixed sex ward wasn’t helpful as noise and light were crucifying, added to a lady with dementia who kept repeating her life history, on the same vibes as your religious experience. It got worse when a giant kilted scotsman taken ill during a football match who never shut up, and never stopped denigrating the staff, did his best to wreck the extended bed they found for him. In any other circumstances it would have been pure comedy. I hope they sort you out soon, nothing to worry about with the next procedure, it sounds a lot more scary than it actually is.

I manage to eat and drink most of what I enjoy as you will have witnessed at supper the night before Berkeley show. You’re in the right place and will enjoy everything all the more. Richard, remember this, you are very important to your family and at times like this I'm sure that they realise how important it is to help your brother look after the farm.
Getting you back to full health and cracking on with the daily chores is what your thousands of followers want and, at this time, you must do as you are told and rest , hopefully a stent will sort you out.
We all realise how stressful this period in your life is but, as a farmer, your character must be positive one. lol
