I checked the clip of her singing this song in the same run, and the woman playing the part of the assistant had changed, so it seems to be her!
Oh wow 😱 This is _exactly_ what this song should be like 🤩 She completely gets it. She's so good you almost don't notice how bad the production is. I don't think anybody could do a better job without actively ignoring what the director told them to do (like that ridiculous "smile at the girl while you hand the mirror back" thing).
I was at the 2nd preview of Evita in 2012. Elena was very disappointing and didn't have a strong voice. I saw Caroline Bowman in the national tour stop in San Antonio. Her voice and performance was amazing!
in my opinion she gives too much energy up the times and when elena does it she doesn’t give too much energy and plays evita off as a villain as she should
She has a loud..stark and good voice.."Evita"is an rock opera and she sings on this way..every actrees makes an Evita exactly as she feel it...cause Evita is self many Evitas in one....
I think she's good but unpopular opinion, Elena is still better. Elena's performance just has the added sense of culture that only someone from the country would have. It's a vocally demanding score and doing it 6 times a week makes it hard to keep your voice top notch. However, this actress is still very good, I think she captures everything that the character should be and she has a nice voice.
Amazing. I'd gotten so used to the Patti Lupone crucifixion of this role, where she yelled her way from the beginning of the show to the end, that it's refreshing to finally see someone who actually SINGS the music, instead of shouting it into submission.
Musical Mashup! She’s done Nine, Beauty and the Beast, Les Mis, Saturday Nighy Fever and Fiddler on the Roof (according to Wikipedia) There’s a video floating about of Elena playing Fantine in Les Mis which is really good.
Um... well, she can sing... but she wasn't given much to work with in terms of choreo. I also don't like that she throws higher notes (screeches) in randomly at certain points. Overall it feels kinda... stiff. She still is the only one (besides Caroline Bowman) that I've seen to come close to Patti for vocal skill, even if their ranges and tones are totally different. So well done! It was enjoyable to watch, but it does feel a little "tech week rehearsal"-y.
@@DistantCousin I’d beg to differ… when I heard Patti I immediately enjoyed it, but it took me a little more time to enjoy Paige’s performance too. That’s just my opinion though, they’re both very talented people, sorry if this seems insulting lol
Eh. Nothing we haven't seen/heard before. Good for her but nothing new here, folks. No surprises, no uniqueness and a tempo that could put a baby to sleep.
The way she sings the me in "Christian Dior me" is just so...sumptuous. An addictive vocal choice in a wonderful rendition of a brilliant song.

She's fantastic. So much personality; she makes the character all her own, AND her vocals are immaculate.

wow the leisurely pace with which they are getting her dressed really takes the momentum out of the song. The original staging is much more exciting.

Elena had a depth, nuance and natural fire to her that made her untouchable - especially in this more earthy, naturalistic production of the piece.

Well, I’ve certainly seen more flattering costumes. Looks like they dressed her out of Century 21’s basement and skipped the alterations.
