thank you Clive for doing this for the humanity of the world that remember that tragic event in human history.....love what your doing.....life is short and you might as well spend it while u r here
that amazing.....I wish there were my people in the world like this guy....he is so cool in bringing back our past and I wish him every success in this project......and he will be successful because this is what humans want
Ships are noted with their port of registry, not their location of construction. Titanic was originally built in Belfast and was registered in Liverpool. The Queen Mary 2, in comparison, was built in St. Nazaire, originally was registered in Southampton, and is now registered to Hamilton, Bermuda. Titanic II's 'nameplate' will be whichever port she is officially registered at, whether she was built in the UK, China, or wherever.
It should be doing the same routes again and it is also suppose to vist Cherbourg and Queenstown (cobh) if it's coming to cobh I will defo go down and see it absulutly! It will be incredible..
Great idea to make a new Titanic and Close copy of it even inside.Would love to travel with it even i probably only could afford to be on 2nd or 3rd class...or maybe not even that cause i bet it will be very expencive to travel with it....
Just wondering about something. Since it will be made in China, will the stern of the ship state "Shanghai" or "Beijing" instead of the infamous nameplate, Liverpool??? In my opinion, it should be built in the UK. It was ours at the beginning and should be reflected by our hands today. If not, it should be named something other than "Titanic 2".
Clive Palmer was elected to the Australian parliament despite claiming that Wendy Deng, former wife of Rupert Murdoch, was a Chinese government spy a few days before the poll!
As a Titanic fanatic, I feel its horrible Clive Palmer would recreate something so magical for money. He is not related to any of the lost souls aboard the 'real' Titanic, so what is his main reason? Money. Instead of sailing the ship he should open it to the public with a fee of course to bring history alive. The ship could show what it be like on each floor etc. Of course the ship won't be the same, and if you don't have a proper interest in the ship's history then it won't seem disrespectful, however to people who 'history crazy' or people who have lost family it will.
Sad after so much fanfare this looks like it is not happening. Would have been so incredible having a replica titanic as a way of preserving it for future generations after the real titanic rusts to dust. Although with Clive Palmer adding casinos and making a sort of theme park at sea seemed like the wrong approach instead of making it a traveling maritime museum of ocean travel from a by gone era. No one needs all the Oasis class tropical cruise crap. This would have been a way to time travel!! And built the friggin thing at Harland and Wolf and make it a global educational experience!!!!
m8 I wasn't referring to his spending habits, honestly I have a bit of time for the odd Jurassic park replica too, it's more the way he runs around calling himself the next prime minister cause he's got a bit of dosh. But good line about arseholes, you can see the originality shine right out...
So... is this happening? Apparently not. It would have been fun, at least in first class. I don't know who would want to go second class, and only people wanting to relive a menial existence would want to go third class. It would have been enough to have all first class staterooms; no need to go overboard for exactitude everywhere. And people today want full size pools and modern gyms. Few people would have wanted the 1912 experience to make this ship profitable, but plenty would want the atmosphere of 1912 with modern amenities.
Is this being built or isn't it??? I never fucking heard about it until now. I've wanted this for so long and it just might be hot air from some Australians ass?
+raataggi96 theplayerXD "Made in China" that will sure give it a legendary status like the first Titanic for sure. To be honest if it will not build in Belfast like the original Titanic then what's the point of it all? Smh -_-
+Isa Dawvish In June 2013, it was reported that Clive Palmer may be experiencing financial difficulties, and that his two most prominent businesses were running at a loss. This followed the leaking of a letter where he asked a Chinese business partner for a $200 million AUD payment. His net worth was believed to have fallen by $1.6 billion AUD ($1.17 billion US) in 2013. When the project was first announced in 2012, Palmer claimed that construction would begin before the end of the year, with a 2016 launch. Following the launch events in 2013, he then claimed that construction would begin 'within a few weeks', with launch and maiden voyage still listed as 2016. In an August 2013 interview, Palmer however indicated that construction would not begin until March 2014, while still citing 2016 as the intended completion date. It was later claimed that the first cutting of steel would take place in late 2014, with launch delayed by two years to 2018. In the event, 2014 passed with no news of either steel cutting or actual construction beginning. An Asia Cruise News article in March 2014 claimed that the project was "a bit frozen" and that Palmer was 'thought to be reconsidering the project' after failing to secure sponsorship or find a partner at a Chinese shipyard. He was also said to have been disappointed by the quotes to build in China in terms of both delivery time and price. In response, Blue Star Line reiterated the claim that the project was "on track". It was reported in late March 2014 that the project was unlikely to go ahead, and that the Chinese 'had lost interest in the project'. CSC Jinling responded by saying that it would be "difficult for us to build the Titanic II but we have confidence to build it". Blue Star Line reiterated claims that the keel would be laid in Q3 2014. In May 2014, Blue Star Line and designers Deltamarin signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese company AVIC - which owns Deltamarin - to promote the project within China, and to attempt to secure sponsors. It was reported that the first project development phase was complete, and that the evaluation and the project master plan development was ongoing. In November 2014 Deltamarin announced that their "current commission has been finalised. Blue Star Line will inform in due course about the eventual continuation of the project." During the first half of 2015, evidence accumulated strongly suggesting that the project had been abandoned. In March 2015, Deltamarin told an Australian Broadcasting Corporation journalist that work on the Titanic II project had been halted. Also in March it was reported that no work had begun or been ordered in the Chinese shipyard identified as the likely site of construction with workers highly skeptical that the project would ever move beyond the proposal stage. On 26 March 2015, the Blue Star Line trademark was listed as "abandoned". In September 2015, a spokesman for Palmer said the project had merely been delayed, and that the new ship would be launched in 2018 - two years later than initially planned. The vessel's maiden voyage would now be from Jiangsu, China, to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where Blue Star Line was developing licensing partnerships for its Titanic II trademark. However, as of late 2015, Blue Star Line had made no updates to its official web site or media pages in over two years. Palmer's nickel refining business was reported to be experiencing a cash flow crisis while his charitable contributions had declined and his corporate jet was put up for sale.
I will be buying tickets and look forward to drowning in the steerage section along with 1500 others, as Clive profits from the deaths and tragedy of others.
I've put up a Facebook page about Titanic 2. It's still brand new because I created it just this afternoon. facebook.com/pages/Titanic-2-2016/501425583312285 Hopefully theres a webcam when they start building Titanic.
In reality this ship will be nothing like the titanic a modern ship styled to look like the titanic which will have a modern propulsion system, will have to be built to modern safety standards with modern safety equipment built using modern construction techniques. Also would I really want to spend 7 days on a ship with 1900's style furniture and surrondings, somehow I think I might prefer the QM2
Rubbish it doesn't matter how much money he has, this new ship will have to be built to modern safety standards, it will built using modern construction methods, will it be coal fired with stokers manning the boilers? No, its stated in the promotional video it will have a modern propulsion system, it will be wider for extra stability, in other words a Modern Ship that's styled to look like the Titanic, but a Titanic replica NO not really.

We also need replicas of Titanic's sisters, Olympic and Britannic.
😢😢😢😢😢😢
As a good suggestion, Blue Star Line should see this. Hopefully, if they do make a documentary of Titanic II, this video should be added as a bonus.
It should be doing the same routes again and it is also suppose to vist Cherbourg and Queenstown (cobh) if it's coming to cobh I will defo go down and see it absulutly! It will be incredible..

Titanic 2 project was canceled. Both Deltamarín as chinese shipyard, abandoned Palmer.
just how many liners come under the Blue Star Line,i for one do not think it will come about
Guys, stop hating. This shit it is real, it is getting built, and it will be completed. No one is gonna stop him from building it.
I would go on it.. Oh my god!
Novelty factor aside, people will be bored on the new Titanic. Search for "Titanic v Oasis of the Seas - Biggest Ships."
I would buy a ticket.
+Jo_Say lets hijack titanic hahaha
I would like to go but in first class!!
Gold!
Vao construir o navio e fazer o fime tambem?

He wants to stop the boats, but wants to build the Titanic 2
Mean while, nature is making Iceburg II
hope it works for you and actually sail it
Clive Palmer was elected to the Australian parliament despite claiming that Wendy Deng, former wife of Rupert Murdoch, was a Chinese government spy a few days before the poll!
"The experience of the titanic will be the same" - I fucking hope not. 11:15
Palmer could be in deep trouble
As a Titanic fanatic, I feel its horrible Clive Palmer would recreate something so magical for money. He is not related to any of the lost souls aboard the 'real' Titanic, so what is his main reason? Money.

@George Belev
Haha wtf, a ticket will not be '1 million', plus a trip to the moon would definitely cost a lot more than a hundered grand.
Probblem with Clive he's about 5 inches to small.
the first titanic was an irish ship. so should the second one. whos goin to go

And by the way how can the ticket be 1million ,I would prefer to go to the moon in a 1million times because a single trip to the moon is $100 000
*LOOKS BEHIND THE TABLE*
Says " Made in China " LOL
Professor. Lol.
