    I remember your early "metal bass" tutorial, the tone from that video to your current stuff has come light years. A good grindy bass sound in a metal/hard rock mix, really takes things to the next level. Sure, you want some depth and heft to help fill out the bottom end, but that space in the middle you mentioned makes things sound very full. Mad respect to you Ola, for appreciating such important details.

    As a bass player I love a good guitar tone. The first, second and fourth clips had really good ones. To get a good bass tone get a good bass like a Fender Precision or a Jazz, new strings and a bass amp like a Ampeg or a strong tube guitar amp on the clean channel. That's it. The tone is in the strings and the bass.

    I've got a Boss Katana MkII 50, and I can get some nice metal sound put of it. I'm even playing the Haunted through it and it sound great. Katanas are great for the price. Sure you won't get a tube sound, but you will get a sound that'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. With tone studio your set for tonesand it only cost $350 Max for a brand new one. Or you could go out and buy a $800-%1500 tube head plus a $500 cab, hen you will have to buy your effects pedals and most probably some type of boost that will put another $500-$600. Pretty easy choice if you ask me. Of course if they dramatically dropped the price in tube amps, I'd move to the land of tubey goodness. But until then I'm here in the land of solid state.

    08:20 that’s the riff from Some Kind of Monster that they never used for a song.

      I wrote this idea for the Rate my tone. I don't know nothing about this some kind of monster riff you mentioned.

      They titled it Shadow of The Cross, it never made it out of demo stage but the riff you wrote is pretty much exactly the same.

    Hi, Ola!!
    First of all, thank you so much for ur kind words about my guitar tone. It really means a loooot man.
    Alien is a former Brazilian brand.
    Your buddy Keith Merrow has the 100w version called Evolution. They made a Custom version for him.
    I'll work on the Bass tone as well.
    Thank you so much!!
    Cheers!!!

      Man, your riffs and the guitar melodies are really good. I'm a sucker for guitar melodies, which is why I love Swedish death metal 😁

    Hey there Ola, Do we have access to any of your impulse responses? I am going to be getting a Quad Cortex and a Mesa Cab Clone IR and, first! your Starzinger capture from the quad cortex was absolutely phenomenal and second, you did a video a while ago about the Cab Clone IR and I really liked your Mesa 4x12 standard IR......are those accessible to us in any way??? Thank you so much for everything that you do.....

    Damn dude ola is sick, I wish I knew half of the shit this dude knows. I mean I can play guitar, decently, and I'm not even saying I'm hella good or anything but I wish this dude could teach me how to record and all that other shit because there is so more than just playing guitar.

    The guy with the warlock and the crate sounded 90s death metal af. With some tweaks I think it could sound really nasty in a good way. 🤘Maybe I’m just getting tired of the super polished tight metal tone everyone uses these days.

    • @lgv3051
      @lgv3051 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The super polished processed sound is so not metal. It's like a dude who plucks his eyebrows and manicures his goatee. Not cool. Not metal. The rock equivalent of K-pop.

    Hearing a mix is nice, but would definitely like to hear the raw guitar tones also. More a suggestion for people sending videos.

      @ramo2165 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @limelight81 True. Both would he nice. I believe in the first video, someone had it in the mix, then cut to the raw guitar tone at the end.

    Hey Ola...We ( I ) need a Solar E2.6FBB-27 but with 24 frets and a Floyd Rose. There are no explorer style guitars with these options. You need to corner the market man. The closest thing is the Dean zero selects being released later this year but still not a baritone.
