- Early Intervention in Schizophrenia; What You and Your Family Should know. The 32 minute video covers the common questions that families have when a person is showing early signs of psychosis or schizophrenia and they begin treatment at an early treatment center. Additionally, a young man describes the first symptoms that he experienced when he began to experience psychosis. This video was produced in 2004 by the Maine Medical Center PIER program - for more information go to: www.preventmentalillness.org and for more information on schizophrenia visit www.schizophrenia.com

Hi - there is no clear delineation between early and regular intervention, but generally the sooner a person gets treated, (with psychological treatments like CBT for psychosis, and medications) the better.
But what if taking meds makes you feel sick, or somehow makes it all worse? I tend to think someone's out to kill me.... Even though No one ever is.... I hear things in my house. People talking when nobody's there, and this feeling of impending doom. Though the voices are not always mean.
Is psychosis depression the same as psychotic depression?
I'm schizophrenic, have mania, bipolar disorder, and my mom won't give me any meds... Haven't taken them in a year and a half.
I am wondering what time frame would you consider "early intervention" For example about a year ago changes you just couldn't put your finger on were being observed. Now there are delusions, suspicions, anger, etc. Is it too late for what you call early intervention??
I really \enjoyed this video and learned a lot Thanks
2:30 min She should have said 24 7 12 x who knows how long. But we live in a very good time finally for medications and science of understanding it.
Thank you----
