    Food for thought, did you know that you have to kinda preheat the espresso portafilter? Either by sending a blank cup through the machine or by simply dipping the portafilter in a cup or bowl of hot water while your espresso shot is being made. Your Welcome! :) Love the video! xoxox

    My understanding is that the portafilter needs to be warm in order to produce a good shot. Turning the machine on a little before and running water through it first should help that. I’ve also read that you can just run it under the hot water on your sink. Thank you for the video. I get my Breville Touch tomorrow and I’m super excited. 😃

    A lot of people is saying that the espresso comes out lukewarm. It’s supposed to be at least 170 Fahrenheit

    Hi, we have Breville Barrista touch 880 model. It works perfectly except for the the top quarter of the LCD touch screen, which is unresponsive. We tried to do a factory reset but the button is on the top right corner and now we are stuck .Does anyone please have any solution we can try?
    So far we unplugged and left for a long time, we disconnected and reconnected the lcd screen but no luck. If you have advice on this we will appreciate it. We love our Breville and use it daily! We look forward to use it and it’s our way to bless people!

    Hi, thanks for the info. About the 1st shot, besides the warming time, try purging the grinder, before the first expresso. It could be grind retention from last usage, as ground coffee starts to oxidize within hours.

      Yep that is 100% leftover stale grounds in the grinder. I always purge before first cup of the day.

    This machine i believe has the thermojet? So you should be able to just run 2 shots of water before you make your first cup. No need to sit and wait for anything to warm up.

      I just bought this machine a few days ago and last night watched a review on someone using it. she extracted the coffee it came out so fast like water and way toooo much liquid came out. Half the cup was almost full. I commented a tip for her and then as I hit send on my comment I noticed she was basically making a milkshake with all kinds of weird things in it but she was calling it a coffee & she was reviewing the machine based on that drink she made lol.

    You have to clean a lot. It will affect the machine if not.

    0:45 The reason for this is not the machine. It's your patience 😁 In order to pull a tasty espresso you need the machine to be HOT 🔥. The boiler in this machine is ready in 3 seconds. But that doesn't mean that you should make an espresso that soon. You really want the full machine to heat up, including the filter. And for that, you need to be patient and give it at least 15 minutes or so to completely warm up. The reason why your first pull is not as consistent as your second is exactly this- because on your second pull the machine is much warmer than on the first. Both because it's had ample time to heat up, but also because hot liquids have helped that process as they made their way through the machine.

    • @foodieriggs4499
      @foodieriggs4499  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for this tip! I'll give it a chance to warm up next time and see how it goes!

      @angrytomasz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@foodieriggs4499 No worries! Let me know if that works for you. It should :) Also, from what I learned, in a double espresso pull you want to have it go for about 20-30 seconds starting from the first drip - and you can adjust that by changing the courseness of the grind. So, if it's taking too long it's likely that your grind is too dense (fine) which can make the shot taste really bitter, and if it's the opposite (too course) it can taste sour. Same with temperature, too cold and it can be sour, too hot and it can be bitter.

      This coffee machine doesn't have a boiler it's a coiled tube called a thermojet it only heats up when pulling a shot and then cools down until you pull another shot so never going to maintain temperature, you need a least 95centigrade to pull a good shot.

      Just run some hot water through the pipes for a couple seconds before making your first cup. Easy

    Hi, thanks for the update. You mentioned that the first brew of the day isn't very good but subsequent ones are. I'm wondering 1) how long do you have the machine turned on for before you brew, and 2) have you tried just running some water through the machine (without grounds) one or two times to (presumably) warm the machine up first? I can't imagine having coffee grounds would be necessary for a "warm up".

    • @jriggins7416
      @jriggins7416 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Admittedly, I don’t have it on very long before brewing. Also, I did try to run water through first and that seems to have worked. So maybe it just needs a warm up first.
